Hi, I'm new to web design; my background is in print. I'm taking tutorials to learn how to do web design via Dreamweaver...I'm not even gonna attempt coding.

I'm looking to add a feature to a web site I'm designing. I see it all the time on websites; especially shopping sites and I don't know the term for it!
If I know the term, I could find a tutorial! I'm hoping someone could help with this....

What I ultimately want to do is have a webpage where you can click on a photo and a smaller page opens up within the original webpage. This window will contain additional information about that photo and when
the viewer is done reading, they can close out or "x" out of that secondary page and that will bring them back to the page they were originally on.

This is a link to an example. If you click on the "zoom" to see a larger photo of the shoe, another small window opens up with the zoomed view. Then you can close out and you're still on the same page you
originally were on.

example

Any info or link to a tutorial would be helpful. Thanks much!!

It's most often a combination of JavaScript and CSS and it's often called lightbox after one of most used scripts.
