Hi, my website is
www.jasonsportfolio.co.uk the problem is that the navigational image links accross the top of the page download rather than just navigate to the other pages, but only in firefox (having only tried ff and ie). Pops up saying "index.html" "What should Firefox do with this file?" "Open with [Internet explorer (default)]" or "Save File" "Do this automatically for files like this from now on" must know what i mean.. I have recently played around with the .htaccess file foolishly, if that has anything to do it? (it is blank now) |

Like for instance http://www.jasonsportfolio.co.uk/websites.html ? Strange, I've tried with several versions of gecko and it doesn't happen to me. What version of FF do you use?
When this happens the content-type is usually wrong, but it isn't in this case. |

It doesn't happen in Safari either, but you should fix the markup errors (on all pages) with the validator (links at top and bottom of this page).
You use a XHTML DOCTYPE, but you have coded in HTML. And there are some comma's where they shouldn't be. Besides, for normal links, that replace the current page in the same window, you don't need a TARGET attribute. In the CSS file, there shouldn't be <style> tags and colors need to be preceded with a # sign. I don't know if fixing all that will fix the problem in FF, but since you claim to use web standards coding... |

thanks for the replies,
the target tags were a method i tried to fix the issue, making the links target "_self". I have a feeling it is something wrong with my FF and will reinstall. Im running 3.5.8, and if i click that link panday provided, FF tries to download it as apposed to navigating to it And i will obivously tidy my code |

Yeah, do, but the errors don't cause this. I don't remember if the menu is available in FF while the download box is up, but could you make a try? Try to load one of the troublesome pages and then go to Tools | Page Info and copy what it says for content-type there.
I have 3.5.6 (and older versions) BTW, so I guess it could be a bug, but I can't figure out with what. |
