I have started a new web directory http://www.webhosting-directory.org and I promoted it well enough but I have not been rewarded the way i should have been by Google. I want to know, if there is anything wrong in the HTMl code. Please help!

There are still errors: http://www.htmlhelp.com/cgi-bin/validate.c...-directory.org/

One reason might be that you use an HTML4 doctype with XHTML closing slashes in "empty" elements (like META or INPUT).

Does Google care? There are other reasons to fix the errors but I don't think Google ranking is one of them (alas). unsure.gif

Does Google care?

Forgot about the original question! mellow.gif

The Google Pagerank appears to be very low, 1/10, which implies more sites need to link to you (serious ones, not link farms). A related problem is that there's lots of competition for your search words ("web hosting", "hosting directory", etc), so getting good result on these will be very hard indeed. Try to come up with some related words/phrases that noone else thought about yet.
