I don't see that error in the screenshot, nor do I understand for what element on that page this is triggered.
Try to search for "missing author in webmaster tools". |

I don't get any wiser seeing that screen shot either. What is it this tool tests and for what? Those meta tags, how do they come into it?
Sorry, I haven't used Webmasters in ages. |

Does the thing imply that you should use the author meta tag maybe? Didn't think Google bothered, but see if that helps.
CODE <meta name="author" content="Your Name Here"> |

CODE <meta name="author" content="Your Name Here"> No, the "author" tag makes no difference. Looking further into this, something called schema thinks i have a "snippet" on those pages, or structured data. AFAIK i only have plain html. My first post shows an image in the error box "clock.jpg", is it possible an image could be a snippet? could an image require an author? This post has been edited by JimiB: May 8 2015, 05:18 AM |

it is the "data testing tool" in Google webmaster tools under structured data.
Have been advised to insert something like "Reviews" with an author to remove the errors. This post has been edited by JimiB: May 8 2015, 04:51 PM |

I give up. I logged in there. I get everything in Swedish even though I changed my preferences to English 3 times. I don't find anything corresponging to "data testing tool" but one tool that's about structured data. It isn't explained what it does and I don't understand its report.
I fed it htmlhelp.com and this is what it tells me. Huh? CODE pmr-metatags-author pmr-metatags-author-liam pmr-metatags-author-liam_quinn pmr-metatags-author-quinn Bleh. |
