HTMLHelp Forums _ Feedback and Assistance _ Page will not display properly

The two pages below are exactly the same; the first is on a test directory on my main website

https://www.infotextmanuscripts.org/hold/ram_shah_book.html

The second is where it belongs

http://www.satpalramisguilty.20m.com/ram_shah_book.html

As you can see, the first displays correctly; the second displays yuk.

Can anyone sort this for me? I realise the problem is something to do with the second site - which is on a free host - but I haven't had this problem before.

Thanks

Alas they are not the same. Your host has put a banner on. Looks like a lot of crap code if I view source. There's also a BOM, a byte order mark. That's what looks like "ÿþ" in the beginning of the text. A BOM is something unicode editors may use and it shouldn't be used on the web. The BOM also comes from the ad code.

Change host?

Thanks a lot. Managed to solve the problem all by myself where the experts either didn't bother to answer - alt.html - or didn't know.

So what did you do? Wasn't the crap code inserted by the server?
