Hi there Everyone. I've seen a pretty cool thing on a few websites and I just can't figure out how it's done.

What I mean that there are some websites which have information like:

Today is George Clooney's birthday.
Tomorrow is Hugh Grant's birthday.

And this information changes day-by-day. I would guess that this is done by php and MySQL. Am I right? Can this be done by JavaScript?
If this is done by MySQL is there a site where I could download the database file of famous people's birthday, or famous history days?

Thank you in advance for your help

It could be done with any kind of server-side program: CGI, PHP, Java servlets, etc.

It could be done with JavaScript, but then you'd need to download the entire database every time, and of course, it wouldn't work when JavaScript is disabled/unavailable.
