Hi everyone. I'm trying to create my own blog at Blogger and I'm editing the HTML code to make the design and configuration exactly as I would like. I'm a newbie so it's being slow and difficult, but so far I've managed myself pretty well. Yet I found this problem I don't know how to resolve.

I'm using an advance template -created by another guy- which is highly customized. The template is designed to show only the titles of the recent posts, but I would like to show the title AND an excerpt of the posts, including maybe a thumbnail.

Normally it's enough by using the Blogger editing tool which is at the dashboard, but as this template is highly customized, looks like I'm gonna have to edit the HTML code to do this. But as much as I watch tutorials and ask for help I cannot figure what do I have to change from the HTML code to make recent posts show as I'd like.

Anyone could help me with this? This is very important, I'd be highly appreciate to anyone who could give me a hand on this.

Thanks in advance.
