Hi
I have built a website using HTML, mostly following the tutorials and advice on the HTML Goodies website. It has been very informative and really helpful. I would like to make an improvement, but I am having difficulty finding the best way to do this. This is basically what the website does, and what I would like to do: I use my website for storing/displaying photos. I have set it up as 2 frames, a narrow one on the left which holds the selection buttons. When one of these is pressed, it opens up a grid of thumbnails linking to the full photos, in the main frame to the right. Clicking on one of these thumbnails then displays the full photo in this main frame, replacing the thumbnails. This looks fine and works well, but I would like to add "previous" and "next" links to avoid having to go back to the thumbnail page each time. The only way I can think of doing this is to create a third frame, at the top or bottom of the main one with these 'previous' and 'next' buttons in. The problem would then be to reassign these buttons to the previous/next photo each time one is displayed. Is there a simpler and more efficient way of doing this ? I have attached some textfiles with the code for the three main pages and for one of the picture pages. If you need to look at the website to see how it works, the address is: www.garyevs.co.uk Thanks in advance for your help. Attached File(s) Berlin.txt ( 3.01k ) Number of downloads: 211 buttons.txt ( 5.53k ) Number of downloads: 358 index.txt ( 223bytes ) Number of downloads: 192 main.txt ( 2.06k ) Number of downloads: 197 |

Please see the FAQ entry Are there any problems with using frames?
FWIW, my photo gallery doesn't use frames at all. |
