Hi guys,

I am tryng to run super meat boy on my pc but i keep on getting an error
'The program can't start because d3dx9_42.dll is missing from your computer.'
I'm running on Windows 7

Can anyone help

Hi jean,

d3dx9_42.dll
This is because you are missing a file.
Step 1. You can download http://dllcentral.com/d3dx9_42.dll/9.27.952.3001/download/ here.
Step 2. Paste this file into your system32 and system folder. Also put it in your syswow
Step 3. Navigate to your System32(32Bit OS) or SyWOW64(64Bit OS) Folder.
Note: The location of System32 or SyWOW64 is
C:Windows\System32 (If you are using 32Bit Windows)
C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (if you are using 64Bit Windows)
Step 4.Paste the d3dx9_42.dll into this folder.
Step 5.Run the game. It might work now.

As d3dx9_42.dll file is missing or corrupted, you need to get a new dll file.
Here are the steps to replace d3dx9_42.dllfile
Step 1. You can download missing d3dx9_42.dll here:

Step 2. Paste this file into your system32 or SyWOW64 folder.
Step 3. Navigate to your System32(32Bit OS) or SyWOW64(64Bit OS) Folder.
Note: The location of System32 and SyWOW64 is

C:Windows\System32 (If you are using 32Bit Windows)
C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (if you are using 64Bit Windows)

Step 4. Paste the d3dx9_42.dll file into this folder.
Step 5. Try to run it. It might work now. If not, restart your computer to restore it effectively.

Thank you, Dan. It worked! d3dx9_42.dll problem is... at least irritating one.

I tried to download file from http://fix4dll.com/d3dx9_42_dll and followed all these instructions, but it didn't help. The best solution was near. After re-installation of my DirectX Super Meat Boy game start to work correctly.
