HTMLHelp Forums _ Web Site Functionality _ adding margins to barebones theme

Hi I am using an extremely basic theme http://freetexthost.com/zqpcdq5qou that currently does not have margins or padding

I want some space below, and to the left and right of each post.

I tried adding this code http://html-tutorials.tumblr.com/post/127793997958/adding-a-blog-border which worked but prevented scrolling on the page
