IVE BEEN ON THE NET b4, but not for several years,
Im just doing a basic page to see if i can get on, ive tried being my own hoster & tried google BUT thy both say no connection, the first is MY PC , i can see it inside my browser but i can't get it to get out, it seems there is a blockage on the router or modem . ON google somehow its picked up my original webs site, i was just going to put a sheet of about 9 lines and see if that will go on, but it still doesn't. I NOW I Shouldn't use my PC to get on, but i can't get on with either. I thought it should go on with about 9 lines of code. What else could be holding it up? Ive set port forwarding.? Ive got my orig. in various places on my PC BUT how do i direct it to the smaller index.html Ive have got them in the same ronuk.org but in different places. Im in such a mess could anybody help please? 192.168.0.2 routers address (does go on but only IN my PC) 81.96.67.248 modems (won't go on) |

You can't normally access your PC's file system from the web, for security reasons. Instead you need a web server program on your PC (like Apache) which in turn can serve files to the web relatively safely.
But it's probably simpler to use a normal web host. |

With a router you need port forwarding. Google 'port forwarding router web server' or something like that.
