I'm working on a site where I need to be able to have users enter in a code that has been given to them, and then be refirected to download an mp3. I do not want this link active for just anyone, and I'm unsure about how to go about it. Could someone help me?

Instead of linking directly to the file, you could link to a server-side (e.g., CGI, PHP) program that verifies the code entered by the user, and sends the file if the code is correct.

I just don't have much experience with this? Is this something I could possibly pay you to do for me? I apologize if this is out of line on this site. I'm not sure if it's allowed or not.

Do you have a proper server? (Not things like "Tumblr") Can you run PHP or Perl programs?

Do you just want one password - same for everyone? And is this ultimately not required to be supersecure?

If so someone can either sketch out a bit of code, or you can post in the "Programmers wanted" (or whateveritis) forum down below.
