Before I get started, please allow me to direct you to our site ONLY for reference...

***ADMIN...I apologize in advance if this is against policies, and if so, please contact me and I will edit this post. THANKS!

http://www.atlantacustomdesigns.com/welcome.html

Everything looks ok until I scroll to the bottom of the screen. On my computer, the tables are offset at the bottom. On my wife's computer, it looks ok. On my mother-in-law's computer, it's offset, but not as badly as mine. My screen resolution is set to 1024x768. My font sizes for IE are set to "smallest" (the larger they are set, the worse it gets). I have had several friends look at this...they have mixed results on it as well.

I would obviously like the input in the poll of everyone who reads this thread. Please rate the site according to the issue at hand and not according to design, creativity, etc...THANK YOU!

As you can see by the site's subject, we are web designers. We have NEVER faced this issue before. The site was designed by first creating the "template" in Photoshop CS2 then slicing it. The optimized HTML and images were then placed and a layer was added over it. Inside the layer is the content for the pages. This is all placed within various tables. We have tried EVERYTHING we know, but it still does this...PLEASE HELP as this is our home-based business and we absolutely can not have a disfunctional website representing our business.

THANKS!

It's because of your positioning scheme. 'position: absolute' does that to you if you use it carelessly.

Here are some suggestion.
1. Get rid off all the MS Office stuff. Only Office can understand it. If you can't write HTML by hand, at least use a better HTML editor than Word.

2. Slap a doctype on and validate.

3. There is no point in slicing up a big, gray image to get a gray background color. Use a background color for that. It's all these images like this one I mean: http://www.atlantacustomdesigns.com/images/Untitled-2_21.gif . If you must use an image, use it as a background image and you only need one.

4. Keep the image of the red swirl at the bottom. Cut off as much of the gray as you can. There is no point in slicing it. Place it after the boxes in the source.

Some other things. The page forces a rather big width. It would be nicer to float the the boxes so they can rearrange themselves is the window is more narrow.

Can I change my vote. unsure.gif

There aligned fine until I change font sizes. Larger moves the bottom tables off to the right.

That reminds of those questionnaires, that go something like . . . Are you somewhat sure, very sure, somewhat undecided, or very unhappy . . . on a scale from 1 to 10, and if you had to do it again, would you?

Any suggestions on how to fix this issue? Don't laugh...PLEASE! But we actually used...*cough* frontpage *cough* to do this one. I'm trying to learn how to use Dreamweaver...but it's quite a bit more difficult.

And just for the record...the coding was generated by FP. *Hangs head in shame*

That won't necessarily help you much. Learning HTML and CSS would be a better way to spend your time.
