HTMLHelp Forums _ Markup (HTML, XHTML, XML) _ trying to add background image

Posted by: akfrog907 Jan 5 2009, 06:41 AM

hello, i have a code here that was created by another author as a work around to get project playlist to work with myspace. all i'm wanting to do is change the background to an image that i have hosted on photobucket. i'm not sure if the code is css, html, or a combo of both so i hope this is the correct forum. i appologize if not, and thank you for any help. here is the code in question.

<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="never" allowNetworking="internal" height="270" width="435" data="http://www.playlist.com/media/mp3player-standalone.swf?playlist_url=http://www.../loadplaylist.php?playlist=56287077&config=http%3A%2F%2Fstatic.pplaylist.com%2Fext%2Fpc%2Fconfig_black_shuffle.xml&mywidth=435&">
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="never" />
<param name="allowNetworking" value="internal" />
<param name="movie" value="http://www.playlist.com/media/mp3player-standalone.swf?playlist_url=http://www.../loadplaylist.php?playlist=56287077&config=http%3A%2F%2Fstatic.pplaylist.com%2Fext%2Fpc%2Fconfig_black_shuffle.xml&mywidth=435" />
<param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" />
<param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" />
</object>

if you are actually wanting to change the background to the page, just go into your settings and do it that way!

i did this before a long time ago, but if you want to change the background of the playlist, then you'd have to go into one of the links that it already gives you and then pull the source from there, then look for the css in that link and then find where it says background, then change it.. upload your css to your own servers, then keep the code that it has already given you, then change the link you edited to the one that you uploaded on your server.. seems like quite tedious work

Hi, and thanks for the replay. To be more specific, I'm trying to change the background image in the following code using whatever markup language this is, xhtml i believe?
----------------
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="never" allowNetworking="internal" height="270" width="435" data="http://www.playlist.com/media/mp3player-standalone.swf?playlist_url=http://www.../loadplaylist.php?playlist=56287077&skinurl=http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n30/guitargirl_cp/musicskin.jpg&config=http%3A%2F%2Fstatic.pplaylist.com%2Fext%2Fpc%2Fconfig_black_shuffle.xml&mywidth=435&">
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="never" />
<param name="allowNetworking" value="internal" />
<param name="movie" value="http://www.playlist.com/media/mp3player-standalone.swf?playlist_url=http://www.../loadplaylist.php?playlist=56287077&config=http%3A%2F%2Fstatic.pplaylist.com%2Fext%2Fpc%2Fconfig_black_shuffle.xml&mywidth=435" />
<param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" />
</object>
-----------------
i'm not sure if the background is embedded into a swf file, but i'm trying to find out if theres a param name bg image command that would work to change the black bg of the player.
project playlist gives you a code for myspace that lets you reskin, or change the bg, of your player. here is the following code
------------------
<div class="ppl1579946956287077" style="text-align: center; margin-left: auto; visibility:visible; margin-right: auto; width:450px;"><embed style="width:435px; visibility:visible; height:270px;" allowScriptAccess="never" src="http://www.musicplaylist.us/mc/mp3player_new.swf?tomy=http://www.musicplaylist.us/mc/config/skins/config_white_shuffle.xml&mywidth=435&myheight=270&skinurl=http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n30/guitargirl_cp/musicskin.jpg&wid=ms&file=http://www.musicplaylist.us/loadplaylist.php?playlist=56287077" menu="false" quality="high" width="435" height="270" name="mp3player" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" border="0"/><BR><a href=http://www.musicplaylist.us><img src=http://www.musicplaylist.us/mc/images/create_black.jpg border=0></a><a href=http://www.musicplaylist.us/standalone/56287077 target=_blank><img src=http://www.musicplaylist.us/mc/images/launch_black.jpg border=0></a><a href=http://www.musicplaylist.us/download/56287077><img src=http://www.musicplaylist.us/mc/images/get_black.jpg border=0></a> </div>

-------------------
this code looks to be written using css, and no longer works for myspace. the top code is the work-around to get the player to work on myspace once again but i'm not sure what can be done to customize the background
