If you go to http://netflix.com, the movies will show a description and ratings and stuff like that in a talk bubble. I can do that, but how do they do that drop shadow? EI doesn't support PNGs, but it still works. I assumed it was javascript. How could I do this?

It's possible to use alpha transparency in IE5.5+ with the AlphaImageLoader filter. See http://www.google.com/search?q=alpha+transparency+ie for various ways of using it.
