I'm trying to make some very specific changes to the layout of my tumblr, and I know nothing of HTML, that's why I came here! Thanks in advance for sifting through my idiocy.

Here's the picture for reference:

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y195/Rean...pg?t=1294441245

Blue asterisk: I want to have my posts centered, without the dark grey border. I just want it to be black, like my backround.

Pink asterisk: I want the font at the top to be centered, and I also want a picture underneath the sentences "IF YOU DON'T LIKE MILK THEN *beep* YOU" and "Champion of strengths..". I also want to change the color of the grey border to black, for simplicity.

Green asterisk: I want to center these links for "HOME", "ARCHIVE", etc so they aren't hanging out on the right

Yellow asterisk: I want to get rid of this entirely, or at least hide it. That seems complicated, but this all seems complicated from my perspective.

I'll paypal money to anyone that can successfully help me. I've been dying trying to figure this out.

Thanks!

You need to show more than an image for anyone to be able to help you.

Like what, for example? Sorry! I'm pretty ignorant to this sort of thing.

Like the URL to the actual page so we can see the HTML and CSS.

I see my default background, not a black background.

The online tools report markup and CSS errors:
http://htmlhelp.com/cgi-bin/validate.cgi?u...mp;warnings=yes
http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validat...g=1&lang=en

It looks like one of the CSS errors causes the background problem I see.

The links on the right of the header overlap the text from the left if the browser display area is narrower.

Blue asterisk, Pink asterisk, Green asterisk: To center things, see
http://www.w3.org/Style/Examples/007/center.html
http://dorward.me.uk/www/centre/

Blue asterisk: You currently specify a gray background for div.post. If you want a black background, then change the rule for "#content .post".

Pink asterisk: If you want to a black background for div#header, then change the rule for "#header".

Pink asterisk: If you want an image, then see the FAQ entry:
http://htmlhelp.com/faq/html/images.html#inline-image

Yellow asterisk: That's part of the navigation that Tumblr provides. You'll see how important it is once you have more than a few posts to the blog.

General advice: Dropping the F-bomb in large letters at the top of your page isn't a great way to encourage others to help you.
