Take a look at this page in I.E and Firefox:

http://www.civil.uwaterloo.ca/btolson/background.htm

The text doesn't show up in black, and the bulletin points are all messed up in Firfox. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

In Safari (Mac) too.

You have color: transparent; for TABLE in your CSS.

BTW, pass your page through the http://htmlhelp.com/tools/validator/ and the http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/ and fix the errors found by both.
