HTMLHelp Forums _ Markup (HTML, XHTML, XML) _ Preventing unsolicted / Spam in "Comments" facility on coppermine photo gallery

Posted by: malst Jul 29 2008, 04:57 AM

I have had coppermine photo gallery in my website for 3 years now with little problem, but in the last 6 weeks I have been getting large amounts of unwanted advertising / spam in my comments facility. I have tried everything I know to stop it but all with no luck.
I have tried changing most things in "comment settings" including dropping the allowed characters from 512 down to 25 and allowing only 0, instead of multiple lines in each comment, but still get advertising rubbish in there with hundreds of words.
The only way of stopping it I have found is disabling comments all together which is not my ideal situation.

I have just enabled comments again after having it off all day in case anyone needs to have a look at what I am talking about, so I reckon that within 10 or 15 minutes there will be some more rubbish in there.

Any help would be highly appreciated. my site is www.malstewart.com , and go to "last comments" to view. OK...it's 30 minutes later and the top two left photos have already got them. Cheers. Mal wacko.gif

There is a plug-in for coppermine to prevent this. More info here:
