Even more odd that the presumed text document is offered for download. Why isn't it displayed in the browser as usual?

Or create a new folder outside the theme folder if you want to keep things together. It should get default permissions and other criteria.

The conflict doesn't seem to matter. I created a test HTML page with a text/plain header and .html extensions:

CODE
<?php
header('Content-Type: text/plain');
?>
<!doctype html>
<html>
...

and indeed Firefox did display it as plain text in the browser window.

Could there be something else with the HTTP headers causing trouble? unsure.gif

I'm new to Weebly, and so far, "Themes" is the only place I've seen to put files. I haven't seen mention of anything called a "web root", nor any other options. I don't see folders for me to put things in.

The web root is where https://langnhist.weebly.com/index.html is located. It's the highest folder level that's visible to site visitors.

You can create them yourself if you want (I don't know how it's done with Weebly, but the instructions should mention it). Here's a good page on how to organize things: https://webtips.dan.info/subdir.html

But first, try moving quesera2.html to the web root folder (so it's URL becomes: https://langnhist.weebly.com/quesera2.html), to see if it shows properly in a browser from there.

I assume you can't use FTP with Weebly? You do everything through a web interface, some kind of online file manager?

There ought to be an icon or other symbol you can click on to go one folder up if you currently are in the themes folder.
