Hello there, I'm having a severely frustrating problem with getting the xspf player to load the playlist on my website. I managed to get it working once on this website -

http://www.nicksaycedesigns.co.uk/alexis/music.html

but the problem is, the tracks, the mp3 player and it's playlist are located on a completely different host, here -

http://theadministrators.co.uk/

What I want to do is put the player, playlist and tracks on the same folder on the same site. I've tried this and utterly confusingly, it just doesn't work when it's all removed from the root directory of the other host.

This is the address of the site I'm trying to get the playlist to load on -

http://nicksaycedesigns.co.uk/nicksayceactor/media.html **This site is under construction, hence the silly layout!

The playlist, tracks and player are all located in this folder -

http://nicksaycedesigns.co.uk/nicksayceactor/music/

All of the code points to the right folder and files, the player loads, just not the playlist and I cannot fathom why.

I really hope someone can help and that I haven't been too confusing because such a seemingly ridiculous problem is stopping me going further with my projects. I've also attached the playlist if anyone needs to see it.

Thank you in advance,

Nick

Don't know anything about this player, but I noticed one thing. If you go to
http://nicksaycedesigns.co.uk/nicksayceact...c/playlist.xspf
the thing is pretty much dead. If you chop off the query string the player actually loads the playlist and everything works.

Strange. AFAICS the format is indeed the same as at the working page and the file is where you say it is too.

Thank you so much for the rapid response! Apologies, but I don't know what the query string is, but having clicked the second link you put up, it just loads some default playlist that seems to be on the server for the actual player, but it doesn't load my tracks. It doesn't make sense why it works on one site when the files are in the root directory, but not when put in a folder, especially having seen all the tutorials that have their playlists located in their own folder. Sooo frustrating!!! Any other ideas?

Thank you again for the help!

The query string is the parameters you send to the player in the URL, the end bit that begins with a query string.

Default list, huh. Oh well. Afraid I don't see anything wrong, but on the other hand I don't know how this player works and what kind of input it expects. Sorry. sad.gif

the end bit that begins with a query string.

Did you mean to say "begins with a question mark"?
