The single most important criteria for all human decisions is ...
"Is it good for Earth's children?"
................................................

The fact that you and I are pondering on so many aspects of life, is what life is about.  The luxury of being able to devote time and effort to such ponderings is a direct result of society.  Society is the redistribution of responsibilities to better afford the abilities of its members to sustain the societies' existence; mimicking the "Prime Directive" all living things have in common.  The inventions of religion, education, and politics are the solutions that have evolved from society, and when poorly executed are also the cancers of society.

The misery, suffering and evil (i.e. the cancers) which are now accepted as normal by Human societies do not need to exist . We can eliminate...

Global warming, the energy crisis, the national debt, war and the preparation for war, crime, poverty, hunger, disease, racial tensions and the roller coaster results of the Earth's financial systems ... FOREVER!

You may ask "How can this possibly be accomplished?"  The answer is simple, teach all Human children wisdom and parenting as the priority of Human Society!

You may again ask "How will teaching our children to be parents solve all Humanities problems?"  The answer is again really very simple ... Many,

if not all of Humanities problems are the result of mistakes parents make during the first 5 years of their child's life.  The mistakes most parents make are caused by ignorance of the proper way to raise a child.  Usually the same mistakes were made by the parents of the parent.  How they were parented is by far and away the most important and lasting lesson by which humans learn to be parents.  This being so, the same mistakes are passed on from generation to generation.  However, if we could correct the mistakes made by parents by teaching their children how to be parents (i.e. Wisdom) in school before they have a chance to become parents, we could break the cycle of insanities, warped personalities, personal quirks, stupidity and poor judgment that are being passed on from generation to generation.  These insanities, warped personalities, personal quirks, stupidity and poor judgmentare imbedded in the child's brain and manifest in the child's personality and internal view of themselves and the world.  If we break this insidious cycle, within a few generations we would have a world full of good parents, all with the personality and characteristics that are required to be a good parent (i.e. Wisdom).  I will discuss at length what these personality and characteristics of a good parent are in the chapters entitled "Human Wisdom"and "What It Takes to Be a Good Parent".  For now I will tell you that ...

The personality and characteristics (i.e. Wisdom!) of a good parent absolutely forbids the kinds of poor judgment and stupidity which is now prevalent in all Human societies.

I will tell you also that instilling the personalities and characteristics of a good parent in a Human child is a very easy thing to accomplish, only if it is done during a child's first 5 years.  All the child needs to learn wisdom during their first 5 years is good examples, preferably from everybody that comes in contact with the child.  Children learn the most from imitating their parents, society and peers.

Dedication

This book is dedicated to my children Richard, Gary, Gail, Jerry and Omar; and to their lovely mothers, my beautiful ex-wives and lovers Grace, Barbara and Olivia.

Introduction

I can see the cancers in society today and in the past; and I can feel the pain of it in all people.  I want to end that pain.  I do not believe the cancers or the pain are necessary in human societies; and I believe that the cancers are curable.  I believe that the information and knowledge contained within this book is the only possible way to cure these cancers.  These cancers are the "Words"of all religions which falsely claim that they are the "Word of God"; given directly to some human by the "One and only True God" in some far distant past!  These "Words" are not bad or wrong in any aspect except where they claim to be the "Word of the One and Only true God".  This false claim renders all of the world's "Words" to be "questionable"and "unacceptable"to any sane and logical human who worship another God or no God.  Even though their contents were meant to bring good and happiness to all Humanity,  they contradict each other in so many ways their messages have not reached the heart of Humanity to the point where they can constrain the evil that exists within human societies; and in fact, they contribute more to evil than they prevent.  This is the "human reality"that is and has been so widely rejected by humans since the beginning of human Religions some 200,000 years ago.  The actual cancers are caused by the rejection of human reality demanded by all religions.  This is despite all the overwhelming factual evidence that human reality simply cannot be avoided or rejected.

I will prove this by the inalterable Laws of Nature  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_law) and sound logical reasoning (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logical_reasoning) in the following chapters. I believe you can only avoid the conclusions I have reached by rejecting the science and scientific methods responsible for all of Mankind's technological advances.  Which, by the way, you do in fact accept and use daily in opposition to your religious beliefs.  Humanity simply wants to pick and choose between those parts of human reality that fit their faith and discard the rest.  It ain't going to happen People!  You accept all human reality and human societies will cure themselves of these terrible cancers; or you can reject all or any part of human reality and you will continue to suffer the pain and devastation caused by society's cancers

I have many friends and acquaintances that are very devoutly religious.  I am not, but I greatly admire these people for their faith and their ability to live and act according to their faith, even though they find it difficult at times.  The contents of this book are specifically intended for these particular friends and acquaintances; and for everyone anywhere in the world that is devoutly or even vaguely religious in any Faith.  By "specifically intended" I am referring to the fact that so much of the book is devoted to the subject of religion.  For those who are not fanatically religious, the history, scientific facts and conclusions are presented so that you may find the answers to several otherwise unanswerable questions like; "How could something as complicated as Life just suddenly appear?  Must it not have been started by some Devine Being?", "Why, if God exist, does He allow so much evil to flourish on Earth?" and "Who"or "What" was the "Watchmaker" that made the watch found lying on the hearth.

These and other questions like it are addressed in detail in the chapters of this book; and scientifically explained according to the Laws of Nature, the only reality humans can ever experience other than that expressed in human imagination!  Since the same neurons in the human brain are used to process imagination as are used to process reality, humans sometimes have difficulty separating human reality from imagination.

First I would like to tell you the reason why I have written this book, because the reason is as important as the contents.

Today the human race has very large problems (i.e. cancers).  These problems have existed for centuries but now are becoming more important to many, many more people (i.e. growing).  In fact, many noted scientist, politicians and world leaders are fearful and suggest that the extinction of the human race is possible, if not probable, within the next 200 years.  It does not take much thought or searching to see that the present generations of humans will leave a very difficult task for our grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Why is this so?  One would think that with the intelligence and resources that Creation gave to us humans, we should be better able to solve human problems before they become extinction threatening!  Although Humanity has not behaved as if we did, we have had the knowledge and resources to solve all Humanities problems for many decades.

Why have we not used the tremendous gift our intelligence and resources provided us to solve the Earth's problems?

This is the question I have asked myself over and over again for the 24 years since the first time I realized that Life had a given Purpose.  The reason I have written this book is to present the answer to that question for all Humanity.  I have spent almost 24 years in diligent research and intensive, logical thought, looking for the answer.  I believe I have found it!

(For another article which approaches the problems facing humans from a different direction and pretty much reaches the similar conclusions read "Conflict Propagation, Cognitive Viruses, and Problematic Evolution"(http://smirkingchimp.com/thread/h-c-jack-shaftoe/29628/conflict-propagation-cognitive-viruses-and-problematic-evolution))

If someday I am proven to be right by the scientific community; and human societies accept my hypothesis, then the Planet Earth will be transformed into a paradise that will make the mythical Utopia seem like a boring slum.

That is why I am so disparate for you and every human on the planet, to read and understand this book.  The misery, suffering and evil which is now accepted as normal by human societies does not need to exist. We can eliminate

Global Warming, the energy crisis, the national debt, war and the preparation for war, crime, poverty, hunger, disease, racial tensions and the roller coaster results of the Earth's financial systems ... FOREVER!

But we can only do so if there is a radical change in only one of the activities common to all humans all across the planet. (i.e. Educating human children.)

Since the problems are World wide and have been so since Humanity spread across the globe, the answer MUST be something that is common to all humans.  After 24 years of research I have concluded that there are (Beyond eating, drinking and all the other things humans and all other living organisms do in common that are necessary for survival.) only two activities which are common to every human society across the history of humans.  They are

1.    Propagation: an activity we do in common with all other living organisms.

For humans this includes the care, nourishment and education of all human Children through their 18thyear.

2.    Religion: an activity which is not shared by any other living organism on Earth.

I am not the first human to examine the problem and say that maybe religion is not a proper foundation on which to build societies.  If we look at the intensions and operation of all religions, it is difficult to imagine that so much good could be responsible for so much evil, and so if we look deeper we find that there a more insidious common activity which all human societies do in common.  It is the educational systems of society that are the main culprit in our mutual disasters.  It is insidious in that it appears to be one of mankind's more enlightened activates, but which in fact have been design to crush the best of humanity out of Humanity.  By the best of humanity I mean freewill, compassion, intelligence, reasoning, logic and "wisdom".  This crushing of humanity's best in our children is the result of the crime of heresy.  We go out of our way to teach children to avoid the best that human reality has to offer in order to perpetuate our religious Doctrines and not mess with the power of the Church.

There, indeed must be some instinctual need In humans to have a "Higher Power"or "Creator"if you prefer, because Religion and the God(s) the people have worshipped, all formed from almost identical blueprints, have been the foundation on which every human society, since the beginning of humanity, has been built.  "Will and Ariel Durant"said in their best known work "The Story of Civilization", (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_Durant),

that there have been more than 2500 different, major Gods worshipped by humans throughout human History.

The fact is that it is human religions are the only thing standing in the way of reforming our educational system into what it must be changed into in order to solve the problems humanity now faces.

The problem is not what we teach in human educational systems; rather the problem is what we do not teach the children!

The rest of this book is devoted to the proof of the problem and to the solution to the problem.

The best analogy I can give of Humanities attempts to build societies is

human societies have been trying to build a beautiful giant skyscraper (i.e. Society), and with moderate early success, in the middle of a desert without extending the foundation of the structure to the bedrock (i.e. reality) below.  Hence they were trying to build a huge building on a foundation of changing, shifting, drifting, rolling and churning sand.  Everyone knows what happens when you try to build a large, tall structure on a foundation of sand rather than on bedrock.  The structure eventually falls and destroys itself.

With 2500 different Gods and Doctrines, the sand on which humanity has been trying to build society has been and is truly changing, shifting, drifting, rolling and churning sand, which guarantees that the building (i.e. society) will eventually fail!  Is it any wonder that all previous human societies are gone or have made very few technological advances over the last 7000 years?  How long would a skyscraper, built on an ocean beach constantly subjected to the churning of the waves, stand?

The only reason all human children do not mature into wise adults is because we cannot demonstrate, and therefore cannot teach, wisdom during the child's formative years.  We will never be able demonstrate or teach wisdom to our children until we, all humans, obtain at least as much wisdom as the human scientist now demonstrate.

In fact if all humans were to, some how, suddenly become wise, then all of Earth's children would automatically grow up to be wise adults.   All we need to do to make that change to wise humanity from the stupidity that now characterizes humanity is teach our children "how"to be a good parent.  In the process we will also, for the first time in human history, be teaching our children wisdom.  In order for a parent to be a good parent they must be wise and act with wisdom in every thing that they do.

For a definition of wisdom on which practically all Scientist agrees with go to

human Wisdom by Ctrl / click on the link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wisdom

"Wisdom is a deep understanding and realizing of people, things, events or situations, resulting in the ability to choose or act to consistently produce the optimum results with a minimum of time and energy. Wisdom is the ability to optimally (effectively and efficiently) apply perceptions and knowledge and so produce the desired results. Wisdom is comprehension of what is true or right coupled with optimum judgment as to action. Synonyms include: sagacity, discernment, or insight. Wisdom often requires control of one's emotional reactions (the "passions") so that one's principles, reason and knowledge prevail to determine one's actions."

To the extent you differ from this definition of "wisdom"you will diminish at least some of your child's potential to mature into a wise adult.

To even start addressing the problems of human Society and the Education system, there must first be a change to the religious Doctrines or all religions.  These Doctrines contain probations against teaching some parts of human reality and all of the implications and significance of the Laws of Nature in society's public schools.  By not teaching human reality and the Laws of Nature to human children we block all paths by which human children could mature into wise human adults; and put into practice "human wisdom"(as defined above) instead of the foolishness now practiced by the majority of humans.

The changes that must be made to all religious Doctrines are rather simple and do not require that the Faithful of any religion change their beliefs.  It simply requires that all religions give up their claim to their God's "primacy"and instead admit the actual reality of the religion.  (i.e. That the Doctrines are not the word of God, but rather some Human's interpretation of human reality; and that it is possible that, at least, some of the Doctrines of the religion may have been misinterpreted due to the fact that humans are not ever totally "perfect".)

Even the Catholic Church has changed their Doctrines many times over the centuries even though they claim that the original Catholic Church's Doctrines were directly inspired by their Trinity God, The Father, the son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost.

To read an interesting article by a noted author which addresses some of the subjects of this book go to "Towards a Wisdom Based Society"

http://www.ru.org/philosophy/towards-a-wisdom-based-society.html

by Roar Bjonnes

(Bjonnes is a noted writer with a surprisingly similar concept of Humanities problems and their solutions (i.e. human reality) to the concepts which I expound in this book.  Similar even to the point of both of us believing that a Creator does in fact exist and that it was this Being, (i.e. The Creator) who is responsible for the Big Bang and all that followed.  While being similar, Bjonnes does not reach the same conclusions that I have reached in my quest to know the reality of human existence.  I discovered Bjonnes relatively late in my quest.  My hypothesizes were set in concrete long before I discovered Bjonnes, but I was pleasantly surprised when I came across the article referenced above.  For me it was validation of my concepts written by someone other than myself.  I have never found anything like it before or since during my research.  I search the Internet daily for articles relating to human reality.

This book is truly the first publication of the scientific (i.e. prove according to the Laws of Nature.) hypothesis that the "care, nourishment and education of Earth's children"is the one and only Purpose of human existence; and that religion and education, as practiced by humanity since the beginning, are the two causes of all of Humanities greatest problems.

For a significant and telling example of the extent to which humanity is screwed up consider that for two of the more important words in human language, "reality"and "knowledge", humanity cannot agree on a single definition!  How can humanity possibly teach human children any reality or knowledge without knowing the definition of the words?  Is that not a total, illogical screw up in the societies created by humanity?  Might this be true because of the faults in the foundation of societies?

From my research and years of intense logical interoperationalinvestigation, I have concluded that Religion is the single cause of all of Humanities Problems.  In this book I am attempting to explain and the "how's"and "why's"I have been lead to these conclusions by my research and my logical analysis of the evidence.  It is a small book considering the magnitude and importance of the subject.

Over my lifetime I have seen the United States go deeper into debt and accomplish less than I could ever have imagined.  I have also seen the pollution of our planet increase at an alarming rate such that almost everyone now believes we are headed for a global warming, which will have devastating consequences for all humanity. I have used all the problem solving techniques I ever knew in order to try to understand humanity's problems and to find solutions.  This book is the result of 24 years of intensive study.  What I have found is scientific proof of a way to end just about ALL Earthly problems.  Those of you that are deeply devoted will dismiss this scientific evidence (as you do the theory of evolution) and thereby you will dismiss the total concept I am trying to portray.  I beg you to not do that!

The greatest, saddest and most devastating irony imaginable is the fact that the human species cannot, nor has it ever avoided human reality. It is simply impossible.  reality was, has been and is here, 24/7, for as long as humanity exists.  As human history shows us so clearly, when you try to avoid reality, it comes back and bites you on your ass.  humans have been bitten continually by reality since humanity first appeared.

This book is not (as you may suspect at this point) a tirade against any God, Religion, or the Word (Bible, Torah, Koran and any other published papers many people believe are derived directly from the influence of God.)  Rather the primary subject of this book is "human reality and the human Purpose of Life."  In fact there is no reason, nor will I ask you to, change your Faith, I will ask merely that you add a small part to your religion's Doctrines so that, at the very least, the second most important Doctrine of your religion is that humans should put at the top of their human agenda the "care, nourishment and education of all Earth's children!"

Religious Doctrines change all the time, and in fact the care, nourishment and education of all Earth's childrenis, at the very least, is the second most important the things that is common to all humans.  Ask any mother what she thinks is the most important thing in her Life.  If she does not include "her children"I will be amazed.  All I am asking is that you accept a human reality which you and every other human on Earth already accept because you cannot possibly avoid it.  What adding this to your religions Doctrines will accomplish is that human societies that practice your religion will put the care, nourishment and education of all Earth's children at the top of their earthly agenda, as a whole society.  I believe it will require most, if not all, of humanity working together in harmony, to solve Humanities massive problems.

During my research and analysis, I have concluded that there was indeed a Creator who initiated the Big Bang, but I cannot prove it.  However, I think I have proven that it does not make a single whit of difference to the Creator whether we believe in the Creator (or any God) or not. Moreover I have come to believe that the Creator, through the priceless gifts of freewill and intelligence; and from the eternal, immutable aspects of the Laws of Nature, intended that someday we would discover the real Purpose of Life the Creator intended for us to pursue. And I believe the care, nourishment and education of all Earth's childrenis the reason the Creator created us and should therefore be at the very top of every Human's, and every  society's, priorities.  And I believe that I have proven that on the pages of this little book.

DO YOU IN ANYWAY THINK THAT THIS WOULD BE BAD FOR YOUR SOCIETY?

Would it not be a shame if we humans took the priceless gifts creation has given us, (i.e. free will, intelligence, imagination and the Laws of Nature to guide us) and used them to snuff ourselves out, simply by refusing to accept the reality in which we are all immersed and cannot possibly escape from in any case?

I have done my best to make this book as interesting and easy to read as possible; and as logical as I can make it.  I have also done my best to make this book factual and provable by anyone who wants to challenge anything I have said.  One needs only to do some simple (with the Internet) research to prove anything I have written in this book, for yourself!  You can copy any word or phrase in this book into your Google search engine; then click "search"and you will be directed toward many references to articles about the word or phrase which you can use as scientific proof of the concept.  I have already hyperlinked most of the more important Words and phrases directly to the web pages I site as the references.  If the article is from a scientific journal, encyclopedia or dictionary; and if you question any article's validity, don't ask me about it, ask the articles author's peers who reviewed, tested and approved of the concept before it was published, or contact the publisher of the encyclopedia or dictionary.  If it is not from a scientific journal, encyclopedia or dictionary then you have selected a reference which I probably did not use.  It probably is someone's opinion of the concept and has the no real value in proving or disproving anything I have written herein.  Everybody knows the value of opinions.  They are like anuses, everyone has one and they all stink!  However the time spent reading these opinions will not have been wasted, some of them are very interesting; and you will get a much clearer picture of the concept I am attempting to prove to you.

The Fifth Revolution

There have been four great Earth changing revolutions in this Earth's history!

The first great revolution was LIFE!

The second great revolution was INTELLIGENCE!

The third great revolution was AGRICULTURE!

The fourth great revolution was INDUSTRY!

There is a new great revolution coming.  The fifth great revolution will be ...

                             WISDOM!

Let us first define what the Word "wisdom"means.  This is the best definition of "Wisdom"I have ever read!

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

The Primary goal of the Fifth Revolution will be the care, nourishment and education of all human children to the extent that they mature into "wise"adults who act "wisely"in everything they attempt or consider.

The fifth great revolution will begin when the human species begins to accept human reality, understand human reality and live according to what human reality dictates rather than to what ancient fables, myths and total fabrications tell them.

.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:  Definition of schizophrenia:

"The idea of being in touch with reality is integral to the notion of schizophrenia, which has often been defined in part by reference to being "out of touch" with reality. The schizophrenic is said to have hallucinations and delusions which concern people and events that are not "real."

I believe that God, Creation and the Word of God are the primary delusions which concern most people and are responsible for almost all Humanities problems.  If we take even a casual look at human history it is obvious that most human Gods, Creation myths and the Words of God were delusions or imaginations that were not real but were accepted as reality.  Most humans have been and are suffering from the disease of schizophrenia (as defined above) with devastating consequences to humanity as a whole.

In these chapters I will attempt to share with you the knowledge and whatever wisdom I have acquired over 74 years of experiencing life's joys, sorrows and frustrations.  I have neither ax to grind nor any one on whom I wish to cast blame.  I simply need to publish this lest it be lost and the secrets I have discovered, and the time and effort I have spent is discovering them, are all wasted.  I also believe very strongly that the human race needs to take the drastic actions I suggest (or something similar as long as it is based on reality) if the species is to survive as intelligent, civilized humans.  If not, we could well end back in the caves or worse ... extinct!

Consider if that for some reason in only one year, there was a worldwide crop failure, a total possibility if we continue the pollution of our atmosphere at the present rate for very much longer.  At first such a crop failure would drive the urban population into famine, which would spread throughout the country as the local population ran out of food; and finally to worldwide famine where terrible wars would be waged over what remained for human consumption.  The Earth would be turned into a nuclear wasteland as the nations resorted to their most powerful weapons in the hope of self-preservation.  Human societies would go into a tailspin toward oblivion from which it would be impossible to recover.

Nor does it require such a calamity as worldwide famine to initiate the downward, unrecoverable tailspin to oblivion.  Consider the fact that the next human generation will witness the final barrel of oil being pulled from the ground.  Can you imagine what a disaster that will be for society if there is not a replacement already in place to replace the oil?  I see no evidence that it will be possible to replace the oil by the time it is needed unless there is some drastic change in humanity.  Right now we do not have the ability or capability to cooperate on the scale necessary to accomplish the replacement of oil with anything else.  humanity cannot even agree on a definition the Words "knowledge"and "reality!"  How could humanity possibly agree on some as complicated, difficult and costly as a means to replace oil?

Can you imagine all that is required to convert every automobile, truck, bus, airplane, ship and train in the world to run on something other than oil?

The next generation of humans is already alive.  Can you see any possibility of replacing all the energy we now consume with something other than oil?  If you do you are kidding yourself.  How long and a what cost would occur to replace all that oil within less than 70 years?  To think we can possibly do it in 70 years is ludicrous to me.

You may think that the disclaiming and refutation of all human religions is the height of human arrogances, But I assure it is not arrogances which drives me.  It is "duty"and "compassion"for all of the unnecessary pain and suffering I have witnessed being heaped upon humanity by humanity during the course of my 74 years on Earth.  I do not think that I am God or that God has contacted me and directed me on this path.  Rather, I am simply a curious man who happened to stumble onto the most sought-after knowledge in human history.  I simply want to share it with you and the rest of humanity before I move onto whatever awaits me on the other side of death.

In this book I must "tell it like it is" for I truly believe understanding "human reality"is the one and only path to human salvation!  Humanity has little chance of making it unless we "know it like it is."  Reality is the one and only truly common thing all humans share.  It is also the only "absoluteand infallible truth" which exists.  The scientific methods by which we have created the marvel of our technical society are the methods scientists use to view human reality through a common lens.  This removes the distortion of human life experience.  With dramatic success, we humans have applied the scientific methods to almost every field of human endeavor except humanity's religions, which are the foundations of all human societies.  I think it is time we did so!

The scientific community of the world already knows of the flaws in society's foundation and reasons human religion does not and cannot ever function as the foundation of human society as they now do.  The scientists of the world simply do not have the courage to share this knowledge with the rest of us.  That is because scientists are humans who were subjected to the same brain-washing as the rest of us were during early childhood. Religion is the one area where even giants among scientist fear to tread and they avoid this part of reality just as the rest of us do.

This is really very sad because in every case where science has confronted church teaching, science has been proven to be correct.  One of the first of these confrontations was Galileo  the first true scientist) and his Sun-centered Solar System concept versus the church's Earth-centered solar system.  The other most notable confrontation with the church was Charles Darwin and the theory of evolution.  Both of these confrontations totally destroyed the validity of the Word but this fact continues to be ignored by humanity.  humanity acknowledges the validity of Galileo's and Darwin's work now, but continues to teach its children about the Creation and the Garden of Eden portrayed in the Word as if it were reality.

Many will find the words on these pages insulting, derogatory, rude, disgraceful, filthy or heretical.  The heretic part I accept because it no longer carries a death penalty.  But as to the other adjectives, they are not intended to be as you take them.  You will find them as such because you have been denied and forced to avoid the Realities I am describing since birth.  The problem is that you must face and accept the reality we exist within because; otherwise you will never have a clue as to what is really happening in your world.  If you and many other people like you continue to avoid reality, you put your children and their children in harm's way.  The problems the world faces are tremendous and really dangerous; solving these problems is an absolute priority.  If not, the human race faces a dim and (to me) terrifying future.

The fact is that it impossible to avoid reality even though you try to continue on your merry way ignoring it.  It is all we have, 24/7 for eternity.  Why don't we just accept the fact that reality is what it is and there is nothing we can about it?  We can change the future reality so that we leave our grandchildren a world in which they have (at least) a fighting chance.  Or we can not change the future reality so that our grandchildren are made to pay the debts we have created, and solve the problems we have created without the resources necessary for their survival (let alone pay the debt or solve the world's problems).  We must all accept that fact and make the necessary changes to our culture or our grandchildren and their children will face and suffer a great disaster.

Alcoholics Anonymous has a definition for "insanity" which, to me, very closely describes human societies' behaviors throughout human history

"Insanity is repeating the same behavior over, and over again, despite experiencing the same negative results each and every time."

We have been creating Gods, over, and over again, for at least 200,000 years and using them and their Words as the basis for human society.  It hasn't worked, People!  Every human society has experienced the same negative results.  Although we have made great technical strides in spite of Religious Doctrines, the basic hope of humanity (i.e. Peace on Earth, Goodwill to Man) has not yet been achieved!  We are not, and have never been, on the correct path and we haven't even come close to anything like "Peace on Earth, Goodwill to Man".  We have made great strides in science and technology which will be necessary to solve humanity's problems, but we have not yet applied the scientific method to the most intractable of all human problems, God and Religion.

Human Reality

What is this thing called reality and why do humans avoid understanding reality with such vigor?  We must start with a definition of the Word.  The Wikipedia free encyclopedia is available on line and accessible to almost everyone.  The URL for the word "reality"in the Wikipedia free encyclopedia is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/reality.   I would advise everyone to read the entire article before proceeding with these pages.  The Wikipedia encyclopedia contains not only several definitions of reality, but also an in-depth discussion and historic references to the human species search for reality and the "truth."  It also includes a great part of the reason humans avoid reality so deliberately.  THEone and true definition of reality is quoted below ...

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"reality is the state of things as they actually exist, rather than as they may appear or may be thought to be. In its widest definition, reality includes everything that is and has being, whether or not it is observable or comprehensible."

I would like to enlarge on this definition with the best analogy I have been able to devise.

"reality is like a giant hollow sphere made of impenetrable steel, with no windows or anyway to gain access to the outside from the inside.  reality is everything enclosed by the sphere and therefore has no contact of any kind with anything outside the sphere.  If you are in the sphere you are in reality and the entire Universe is contained within the sphere.  What is outside the sphere, if anything is outside, is a fantasy which can only be reached by human imagination.  Now, while the fantasy can portray the outside, it cannot actualize or interact with it in anyway.  Everything outside the sphere is NOT reality, its human imagination."

Do you remember the definition of schizophrenia from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia?

"The idea of being in touch with Realityis integral to the notion of schizophrenia, which has often been defined in part by reference to being "out of touch" with reality. The schizophrenic is said to have hallucinations and delusions which concern people and events that are not "real."

With approximately 2500 different God recorded during our written history, and only God knows how many before written history, does the above not describe exactly what humanity has been doing since the beginning.  Do you think the Aztecfeathered serpent God "Quetzalcoatl" actually ever existed in reality, or in anything other than the Aztec's imagination?  Do you believe the Japanese Emperor is actually a God, a direct descendant from the God "Amaterasu?"  Do you believe the old Gods of Mexico and of Japan were important to them?  You should, these two totally different types of human societies, (drastically different from each other and everything else in the world.) were built using their Gods and their God's Word as the basis and blueprint for the entire culture.

Is it possible that your God was a figment of some Human's imagination a long time ago, just as you know that the Aztec and Japanese God were the figment of human imagination and not real Gods?  What if it is proven in the end that your God does not exist, just as it was proven that the Sun and not the Earth is at the center of our solar system?  What would be different in your world if you suddenly discovered that your God is not real?

If you think about it just a littler bit, you will see that nothing much would change because you do not have any real contact with your God.

The overwhelming evidence is that no God has ever had any kind of intercourse with any human.  It even says in the books of Christianity and Judaism that no human shall ever know the Face of God.

Exodus 33:20:  "And he said, Thou canst not see my face:  for there shall no man see me, and live."

If you research the "Face of God" you will find many references to many different scriptures which address the fact of man not being capable of understanding the "Nature"of God, or of "communicating directly"with God. They usually used the Word "Face"as a synonym for "Nature".

God certainly did not answer the Jewish people, His "Chosen People", in their prayers for salvation from the Hell of Nazism.  If He destroyed the whole world and two little ancient towns because the people were evil, why in Hell didn't he do something about Hitler and his evilness?  I can think of no better example of your God's inability to interfere in the affairs of humans.

Since reality includes "everything" there is, there is not, nor can there be, more than one reality.  One possibility is that religious reality is something that is contained within human reality; we certainly cannot deny that human religions do and have existed since the beginning.  If this is true then human religions demand the same scrutiny (i.e. questioning) by science and all humanity as any other part of human reality.  What in the world do you think the purpose of the gift of intelligence and the survival instincts we posses was?  Did not the Creator expect us humans to investigate and question every possible part of human reality?  Why else would the "Need to Know the Why" of everything is such a forcible instinctual drive?  Is human religion not simply one of the many possible interpretations of human reality?  Is it not reasonable and logical that we question something that was created long, long before Mankind had enough knowledge to even define human reality, let alone understand it"?  We still cannot define human reality in any way acceptable by any religion.

Human instincts require that humans know the "purpose" or reason for everything around them.  This is one of Mankind's most powerful survival instincts.  It is the primary reasons human were able to exist in jungle and savanna environments.  We possess neither fangs, claws nor a tough, armored outer layer; in the jungle we were entirely defenseless except for our intelligence and curiosity, (i.e. the need to know the "why"of everything).   It is universal among human children that around age 3 to 5 they go through a two year period of incessantly and continuously asking "why?" This is because they instinctively need to know the reason and purpose of everything in their environment in order to survive.  It is an instinctual need of humans to understand the how and why everything works.  Intelligence is the survival mechanism which drove the evolution of pre-humans into Homo sapiens.  This instinctual need to know "why" is especially strong when a human individual considers his or her own mortality.

Consider this, if we actually are intelligent beings, would not our intelligence demand that we pay more attention to the Laws of Nature, which are provably unchanged and immutable since the beginning of Time, rather than to the self serving Doctrines of religion.  Do you realize that the only proof of the validity of the "Word" being indeed the "Word of God", is the "Word itself"?  All "Words" propose to be their own proof.  If that isn't illogical, unintelligent and circular logic, I don't know of any kind of information that would be named as such!

This is the one main problem with the human concept of reality.  If you ask 100 people to define reality, you will probably get 80 or more different answers ranging from "reality is what you want it to be" to "There is no such thing as reality, it is all a dream."  The problem is that while there is only one reality, there are probably 6.8 billion different perceptions of reality.  Everyone sees reality through the distortion of his or her own total personal experience and since each Human's total personal experience is different, each Human's distortion of their perception of reality is different.

Humans avoid the concept of a single reality for three main reasons

1.     Humans instinctually hate to be wrong about anything.  When they encounter something that differs with their perception of their religious reality, they immediately close their minds (unless the something is Life threatening) and avoid even thinking about what is different, or Heaven forbid, trying to determine which of the different perceptions is the real reality.  For many it is even more difficult to accept the fact that some of the things their parents taught them maybe were/are wrong.

2.     Humans are taught from birth throughout life that there are some things that are real in such a way that it is difficult, if not impossible, to ever even question these concepts, let alone change them.  In fact human societies have been constructed in such a way that the questioning of certain concepts which the society as a whole accepts as reality is a crime called heresy and frequently through out history and in some parts of the world today the punishment for the crime of heresy is death.  While the crime of heresy applies to only certain concepts, part of the education of humans is that they are not to question anything society accepts as being reality.  This is why we read fairy tales to children, have Easter Bunnies and Santa Clause.  These are part of the ways we condition our children to accept some fantasies as reality.

3.     If you accept reality as the basis if Life then you must question your comfortable concepts of God and eternal Life, which was and is a crime punishable by death.  Also, perhaps more importantly, Life is much simpler when you are a part of a community, rather than being an outcast of the community as most heretics, wise men and futuristic thinkers are.

(From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.  Homo sapiens: Latin: "wise man" or "knowing man").http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/human#cite_note-2#cite_note-2

Humans have a highly developed brain, capable of abstract reasoning, language, introspection, and problem solving. This mental capability, combined with an erect body carriage that frees the hands for manipulating objects, has allowed humans to make far greater use of toolsthan any other species. Mitochondrial DNAand fossil evidence indicates that modern humans originated in Africaabout 200,000 years ago.[5]With individuals widespread in every continent except Antarctica, humans are a cosmopolitalspecies. As of May 2010, the populationof humans was estimated to be about 6.8 billion.[6]

If you would like to read a very interesting article about human development and culture go to "The Physical Characteristics of Humans."

However early humans had a big problem! It was impossible for them to find the reason for their mortality and what purpose their life served.  They simply did not have enough knowledge to understand.  Like the universal and instinctual fear humans have of the dark, humans have an even greater instinctual fear of not knowing the why of things.  In early humans this fear was rational because a lack of knowledge could be fatal when confronted by bears or lions or tigers or a pack of wolfs.

Humans are clever animals, when we cannot find and understand the reason and purpose for something, we "invent" a plausible scenario to tell our children (who believe that we are all Wise).  To understand why humans exist, early humans invented immortal Gods, all powerful beings who created and controlled everything; and who punished all humans who did not accept and obey God's (i.e. their Father's?) words. They also invented the "Word" which was God's directives to humans delivered directly by God to some human, as God is supposed to have delivered the stone tablets with the Ten Commandants to Moses. The invention of the Word was to force the following generations to obey the same Doctrines of the religion so that following generations followed the same rules as the present generation.  They also invented Hell as punishment for disobeying God's Word.

It is quite a deal (really a bargain too!), eternal, pleasurable life if you accepted and obeyed God and pursued God's (society's) purpose; eternal damnation and suffering if you don't.  This "deal" is an easy sell if you are a mother selling it to your 5 year old child, a child who will go any length to avoid displeasing you.  The Hell children fear most is the loss of their mother's love.  And rightly so!  The loss of one's mother at that age virtually meant death for early humans.

Once invented and accepted by society, "the purpose" must be enforced so the society functions as one unit in support of the purpose.  The best way to enforce such a purpose is to claim it came from God.  In such societies that have existed all over the planet since the beginning of human history, the crime of heresy is an absolute necessity because, if the people are allowed to question the reality of the purpose and explore the concept in depth, it would soon be very clear that the purpose was not the Word of God, but a fantasy created by mortals.  Since the purpose is the foundation on which society is built, the negating of that purpose would destroy the very foundation on which society flourishes, and all the people with it.  Prove this to yourself, consider how much religion forms the foundation on which our society is based?  Look at a dollar bill and you will find "In God We Trust."  How much of our law is based on Religious teaching?  How much of our education system is based on Religious teaching?  Was not religion the foundation of every human society since the beginning of civilization and before?

One of the best examples of the length that society, and the leaders of society, will go to avoid the questioning of the tenants of a religion concerns Galileo, the inventor of the scientific method which gave humans the capability to understand reality.  He was a very intelligent gentleman who was very highly regarded by his society and in much of the known world. He was renowned for his art, his research, his inventions, his buildings and his great intellect.  Galileo scientifically determined the Sun was at the center of our solar system and that the planets orbited around it.  He published his findings in a book which the Church found to be "possible" heresy.  Galileo's Sun centered solar system contradicted The "Word" of God which said the Earth was at the center of the solar system.  Galileo was arrested, tried and convicted, forced to recant his published book and spent the rest of his life under house arrest.  Only his renown and many friendships with highly placed individuals prevented his execution.

As it has turned out, Galileo's description of the Sun centered solar system was reality and the "Word" was proved to be wrong.  Although Galileo's work was quickly proved and soon accepted by the scientific community of the time, the Church has not yet changed the Word nor did it clear Galileo and apologize until the year 2000.

The point of this is that the "Word" and the tenants of religion which are claimed to be the Word of God and which were delivered directly to humans by God and are therefore to be considered "Infallible"and "unquestionable," are in fact NOT TRUE.  It only takes one falsehood in the Word for all the Word to be considered "questionable!" In fact the Bible and all the different "Words" of the various faiths are filled with things which are not consistent with the actual reality humans exist within.  Most humans "know" that, instinctually, that is why the crime of heresy was invented in the first place.  The fact that religions require that humans not accept any other explanation for human Life is that most religious Doctrines are diametrically opposed to all human Instincts.  These many different, contradictory, "Infallible"and "unquestionable" Words could not possibly be the "Word of GOD" unless that Word was intended to confound humans, a nonsensical, illogical supposition.  Nevertheless the societies which are based on these WORDS simply refuse to acknowledge the inconsistencies and explain them away as analogies or concepts too deep for human comprehension. (Much as parents demand of children to not question anything they say!)

At this point we must ask ourselves, "What's the problem?"  God seems like the perfect solution to mankind's problems.  The best analogy that I can come up with for explaining why religion and God are nota perfect solution to the human problem is

human societies have been trying to build a beautiful giant skyscraper (i.e. Society) in the middle of a desert without extending the foundation of the structure to the bedrock (i.e. reality) below.  Hence they were trying to build a huge building on a foundation of shifting sand. Now everyone knows what happens when you try to build a large, tall structure on a foundation of sand rather than on bedrock.  The structure eventually falls and destroys itself.

The problem exists because by the time humans invented god we had spread all over planet and were isolated into small groups with little contact among the groups.  Hence each group had to invent God independently and, of course, each group came up with a different scenario for their God and creation.  Is that not proof positive that all human Gods spring from human imagination rather than divine inspiration?

If we consider that there have been about 2500 (according to Will and Arial Durant) major Gods worshiped by various societies all over the world.  With more than 2500 different creation myths and more than 2500 different way to worship and serve God, it is very apparent that using religion as a foundation on which to build a civilization is indeed building on changing, shifting, drifting, rolling and churning sand.  And history speaks to us very clearly about those societies that based their culture on religion; they are almost all gone or not very much advanced in over 7000 years.  In most cases these societies self destroyed just as a building constructed on shifting, drifting, rolling and churning sand instead of solid bedrock eventually destroys itself.

reality is the bedrock foundation on which human societies must be built.

We must not be too hard on our ancestors for inventing Gods.  In actuality it was a very cleave invention because it solved a very real problem for which humans had no solution otherwise.  The fact is that until about 193 years ago the human species simply did not have the knowledge required to understand the real Purpose of human existence.  Although the knowledge has been available for the past 193 years, it has not been recognized until now, and as far as I can find in my research only one human knows the True reality of the human Purpose.  Me!  How arrogant of me? But if you fully understand what I am trying to express in this book, you will find that it is not arrogance, but duty and compassion which drives me to write and publish this book.

Little known and even less understood is the fact that the total of human knowledge of reality doubles every 5 to 7 years (depending on which expert you talk to).  What this means is that about every 100 years or so the present generation of humans has one million (2^20) times more access to and knowledge of human reality than their grandparents had.  We humans now have several trillion times (1,000,000^20) more knowledge about reality that our cave dwelling ancestors had.

The significance of this fact is that any and every book written before the 20thcentury was based on ignorance rather than knowledge.

At the time these books were written humanity simply did not have any real knowledge on which to base the content.  This is particularly true in the Words of the world's religions which professed to be the Word of God.

The reality of human existence I have discovered, based on the latest scientific data, is very different from the Realities and Purposes presently accepted by all human societies (i.e. to serve God). It is so different that human society would be radically changed if the reality as I will present on these pages were to be accepted.  And the radical changes would be extremely beneficial to all humans.

In fact, accepting the reality as a foundation for civilization would lead to a solution of every human problem!

This is not supposition or guessing or fantasy.  It is logic and recorded verified history; and scientifically proved facts that anyone can verify for themselves if they have the desire and courage.  In the following chapters we will examine the knowledge that has been accumulated over the past 200,000 years by the human species, and in so doing find the reason why the reality and the real Purpose of life has been hidden from humanity for so long.  In the process we will examine how this knowledge leads to the inescapable conclusion that humans have gotten it wrong from the beginning.  I will also try to show you how easily human society can be changed from the mess we are in now to a Paradise that will make the mythical Utopia seem like a slum.

The Clue To The Purpose Of Life

When I was a young man, I was very interested in philosophy and read every book on philosophy and religion I could find.  To me religion is just another form of philosophy.  Throughout my life I have spent considerable time pondering the question "What is the Purpose of Life?"  I suspect that humanity has been asking that same question since the beginning.  I also suspect that every mature, sane human that ever lived, has at sometime in their life looked at the exquisitely beautiful night sky, with all the stars sparkling like diamonds displayed on black velvet, and asked themselves the same question. The answer to that question is probably the most sought after knowledge in all human history.

At age 26 I had what to me was a revelation.  It occurred to me that if a God existed, and if that God intended for humans to have a specific reason and goal toward which God desired that we strive toward all our lives, then there had to be a clue somewhere on Earth by which we could know, without equivocation, what our Purpose here on Earth is.  Without some means to reason out what that purpose is, the Purpose is pointless and non-existent to humans.  It is like someone telling you, in peril of your life, "go fetch me a thing," but then refuses to tell you what thing they want you to fetch.  Then after an allotted time has passed you are killed because you did not get the thing they wanted you to get.  Illogical, right?

If nothing else has been discovered during the past 560 years since the printing press was invented, one thing is clear; the Universe and the Laws of Nature are anything but illogical.  Although nature and the Universe at first glance may seem like utter chaos, the Universe and the Laws of Nature are in fact totally constant, extremely reasonable and infallibly logical.  The only reason we see chaos in the Universe is because of the different densities in different areas of the Universe and the fact all the old stars die and explode while new ones are continually being formed from the debris.  The Laws of Nature are responsible for this and it is for this reason alone that science and the scientific method exist.  The Laws of Nature provide the absolute and perfect yardstick by which everything real can be measured and quantified.  The mathematical Laws of Nature also provide the absolute and perfect means by which to make and share those measurements, quantification's and conclusions reached by using the measurements and quantifications.  That is how we humans can know and understand, with considerable accuracy, what happened during the Big Bang event some 13.8 billion years ago, even as to what was happening during the first one millionth of a second into the event.  Were the Laws of Nature not immutable and constant across time and space, it would be impossible for us to understand the Big Bang and our creation.  The scientific method and the whole field of science could not exist without these absolute and unchanging Laws of Nature.

Neither would the technical achievements that have made our modern world a technical wonderland exist.  Humans would still be living in caves with expected life spans of about 25 years.

At age 50 I had another revelation.  I found the long lost "Clue" to the Purpose of Life.  I was watching Carl Sagan's "Cosmos" on TV at the time.  The "Clue"was the "fossil record of Life" here on Earth dating back 3.8 billion years.  The reason it had been hidden in such plain sight for so long is the fact humanity simply had no way of understanding what the fossils they found were or what meaning they might have.  It was not possible until the development of the scientific field Paleontologyin 1817 when Georges Cuvierpublished the book "Le RC(gne Animal"(1817; English: "The Animal Kingdom").   The science became established in the 18th century as a result of Georges Cavier's work on comparative anatomy, and developed rapidly in the 19th century.  The really important meaning (i.e. The Purpose of Life) of the fossil record is still not recognized by any scientific community I know of.  There have been three books I believe that have proposed that "propagation"is the only Purpose to Life.  However no one has taken the concept to the very end as I believe I have; and no scientific paper or book has been published (to the best of my knowledge) which suggest that the care, nourishment and education of all Earth's childrenis the one really true, provable Purpose of human Life.

When the thought finally crystallized in my brain I jumped up and shouted "Eureka!" just as Archimedesdid when he discovered how to measure the volume of objects. (I didn't run through the streets naked as he did though.)  For more than 20 years now I have pondered on what I should do with my discovery.  All the while hoping someday I would open a newspaper and find that someone in the scientific community had made and published the same discovery that I had made.  (When it is published by some renowned scientist, I believe it will cause a stir that will be widely reported in the news.)  This book should be a scientific paper published in some widely accepted scientific journal, but I am not a scientist and could never write or get published in that way.

Over the 24 years since I discovered the clue to the Purpose of Life, and consequently the real Purpose of Life, I have tried to imagine what human society would be like if the Purpose of Life I have discovered were to be accepted and practiced to the same extent that the religious Purpose of Life is now accepted and practiced?  I have found that in every aspect of human existence what I, with my engineering background, have imagined is mind-boggling.  I find that every aspect of human experience would be tremendously improved. By accepting and striving for the Purpose I propose, human society could End ...

Global warming, the energy crisis, the national debt, war and the preparation for war, crime, poverty, hunger, disease, racial tensions and the roller coaster results of the Earth's financial systems ... FOREVER!

I have found, through years of talking to people about my discovery, that the first step required to understand the Purpose of Life is to understand human reality and the Laws of Nature.  To understand human reality we must go back 13.8 billion years to the beginning of the Universe.  Far too few humans know much about the very beginning of the Universe.  Most educated humans know about the Big Bang creation of the Universe, but not many know the significances of events during the first few microseconds after the Big Bang.

The Big Bang And The Laws Of Nature

Of all the concepts I will present on these pages, understanding the Laws of Nature (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_law) is the most valuable thing that you can take from reading this book.  You cannot understand reality unless you also understand (or at least accept that they exist and are absolute) that The Laws of Nature are the forces that control and limit everything in the Universe.  They are immutable and constant across time and space and are in force throughout the Universe.  Indeed, the Laws of Nature are the very ideal of the concept you consider to be God.  These Laws have been discovered, clarified and proven by thousands of dedicated, very well educated and intelligent scholars and scientist, mostly since the printing press was invented in 1450, or only about 560 years ago.  These laws have been studied and tested in every possible way humans can imagine.  They have been proved to be the most constant phenomena in the Universe.  In fact, The Laws of Nature maybe the ONLY ABSOLUTE in the Universe! These laws are different from human Laws in that unlike human Law, the Laws of Nature CANNOT be broken, period!  No Way! No How!  This is the first part of reality humans must understand.

If something is allowed by the Laws of Nature, it can be part of human reality.

If something is forbidden by the Laws of Nature, it CANNOT be part of human reality. IT can only be imagined and not manifested.  Some concrete examples of this are the facts that no two solid objects can occupy the same space at the same time, matter and energy cannot be created, only transformed into some other kind of energy or matter, nothing in the Universe can change in any way without some force or energy being applied or removed to effect the change, and finally, NOTHING can move faster than the speed of light.

The Laws of Nature existed, and were in force from the same instant as the Big Bang occurred.  It is surprising to me that the scientific community understands this fact but do not seem to recognize its significance.  Our understanding of the Big Bang absolutely confirms the existence of the Laws of Nature from the beginning.  We will discuss the significances of this fact later in this chapter.

The scientific community has no clue as to what, if anything, existed before the Big Bang, nor do they have a clue as to where or how the infinitively hot and dense, sub atomically sized bit of energy/matter came from or how it got there.  If anything existed before the Big Bang, it was either destroyed or displaced.  Unless it was shielded from the tremendous release of energy/matter the Big Bang explosion produced.  (Please take note that if anything did exist before the Big Bang, it would not have been real to humans because the Laws of Nature dictate that nothing could survive such tremendous heat and pressure.)

A good place to start your understanding of the Big Bang and the Laws of Nature can be found at the link below.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_the_Big_Bang

The Big Bang occurred when a very tiny, tremendously hot and tremendously dense something exploded in an ever expanding wave of extremely hot quark-gluon forming plasma.  Within the first microsecond of the explosion the plasma had cooled enough for quarks and subatomic particles to form and acquire mass.  As proof that the Laws of Nature were in effect at the same time, is the fact that only the types of quarks and subatomic particles which now make up the Universe survived the first microsecond into the big bang and every one of the trillions upon trillions of the six types quarks and other subatomic particles was identical to every other quark of the same type; the other subatomic particle types were also identical to each kind.  All the matter we can find in the entire Universe was created in that first microsecond.  The Universe then was less than 600 meters in diameter. If anything else was created during the Big Bang, it was too unstable to exist in this reality and vanished or it is something we humans have not yet found and quantified.

(Dark Matter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_matter) and Dark Energy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_energy) are two of the things science has discovered but about which they have little knowledge except that they exist.  Dark Matter makes up 80% of the mass of the Universe.  Dark Energy opposes gravity and is causing the Universe to expand faster than the forces of gravity would allow.)

About 1 second into the Big Bang, the expanding mass had cooled enough for the quarks and gluons to combine into protons, antiprotons and neutrons.  This process lasted for about 10 seconds.  Again trillions upon trillions of identical protons, neutrons and anti protons were created.  Fortunately for us about 1% more protons were created than antiprotons because being identical except for their equal and opposite electrical charge, protons and antiprotons destroy each other when they come in contact.  The Universe we see today consists of that 1% difference in the number of protons and antiprotons created. At this point the Universe is approximately 6000 kilometers in diameter, slightly less than twice the size of our moon.

Between 3 minutes and lasting for only 17 minutes into the Big Bang about 33% of the protons fuse together to form helium and a far lesser number fuse together to form lithium and a very few other heaver elemental nuclei.

By 377,000 years into the Big Bang explosion all the hydrogen, helium and lithium nuclei have recombined with electrons to form the elements hydrogen, helium and lithium and a few other heaver elements.

From then on the hydrogen, helium and lithium are drawn by gravity into immense clouds of gas that eventually form into galaxies.  The clouds farther divide into massive star(http://www.astro.ufl.edu/~jt/massivesf/massivesf.html ) types where gravity compresses the gas until it is hot enough and dense enough for fusion to occur.  The hydrogen, helium and lithium fuse together to form the heaver elements.  These massive stars consume the hydrogen, helium and lithium and a very fast rate compared to a much smaller star like our Sun.  Like in millions of years as opposed to the billions of years our Sun will last.  They very quickly exhaust their fuel and become Supernovas(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supernova).  During the Supernova the heaver elements formerly created within the massive star, from hydrogen, helium and lithium are fused into the heaviest elements known.  The Supernova is an explosion which ejects all the known elements throughout space.  This debris mixes with the clouds of hydrogen, helium and lithium that haven't yet formed into stars.  When a new star forms in these element rich clouds, it includes all the elements into the makeup of the star and any planet which may form around it.  Every element which makes up us and the planet we inhabit was created in the belly of these giant stars during the first billion years of the Universe's existence.  We really are made of "star stuff" and thus connected to the entire Universe.

We should note that with 100 billion galaxies composed of 100 billion or more stars each (more stars than there are grains of sand on Earth) making up the entire Universe, every proton, neutron and electron in the Universe is identical to every other proton, neutron or electron in the Universe.  All are made up of the same types of quarks and gluons and arranged in identical manners.  And all span 13.8 billion light years (the distance light travels in a year at 300,000 meters or 186000 miles per second) of space and time.  Can there be any doubt that some force was at work to make all these things to be so identical.  That force is the Laws of Nature.

The significance of the Laws of Nature being in effect from the instant of the Big Bang is that from that instant forward almost everything in the Universe was preordained!  The only thing that was not preordained and predictable at that point was the positions of all the elements, galaxies and stars within the galaxies.  Some would argue that were we smart enough the position of all the atoms of all elements could also be predicted.  But I doubt that.  The randomness of the position of the individual atoms, and the constant reuse and random(http://www.thefreedictionary.com/random) redistribution of atoms is absolutely necessary for the Universe to exist in the form it does and the distribution of the matter in the Universe is so random that it would be impossible to predict any position of anything.  The randomness of matter dispersal in the Universe is also necessary; otherwise life on this planet would not exist.

At the instant of the Big Bang, Life on some planet orbiting some Sun in some unknowable Galaxy somewhere was preordained.  Life, and eventually "intelligence"were destined to happen.  If you have had any training in the field of "probability"(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Probability_theory ) then you will already know that

Given the right circumstances and raw material and enough "time", anything that is possible has a probability of happening equal to "ONE".  Which means that from the beginning, at sometime, on some planet, by the Laws of Nature, Life was guaranteed to develop.   Intelligent life was also guaranteed once Life developed.

We can state this as a fact because of the following reasons

1.     We know without doubt that Life and Intelligent Life is possible.  There can be no doubt because Life and Intelligence (not wisdom!) does indeed exist on this planet we named Earth!  We humans won the greatest lottery ever held!

2.     The Universe is composed of giant clouds of hydrogen, helium and lithium.  Randomly dispersed within these clouds are all the elements that can possibly be created in the center of an ultra massive star.  From the smallest massed element, hydrogen, to the heaviest massed element produced in massive stars, uranium.  The elements are created, from the lightest to the heaviest, by fusing one or more protons onto to a lighter element.  The atomic numbers of elements are the same as the number of protons and electrons the atom contains.  The atomic numbers are sequential for Hydrogen (1) through Uranium (92) which is the heaviest element produced naturally.  Each heaver element is formed by fusing one additional proton to the nuclei of the next lightest element.  Heavier elements through atomic number 137 are possible but only a few of these have been synthesized in scientific laboratories.  Different elements are created during a supernova in proportions equal to the temperature and pressure of fusion required for the fusion process.  The entire process of going Supernova and creating all the elements heaver than carbon takes less then a second.  Once started the temperature and pressure first rises and then lowers as the Supernova runs it course.  Each different element fuses together at different temperatures and pressures.  In the process of exploding, the Supernova expels the elements at nearly the speed of light and as a result the elements are scattered far and wide.  Each atom continues along a straight line until it is slowed and captured by the gravity of a giant cloud of hydrogen, helium and lithium, which is probable already dispersed with the debris of earlier Supernovas.  The dispersal is totally random.

3.     So, now we have a giant gas cloud which is heavy with the all the elements which exist in nature.  At some point something will disturb the cloud and it will collapse into a star, pulling lesser amounts of the gas into planets which will orbit the star for its entire life.  However, being the lightest element most of the hydrogen in the cloud from which our solar system originated was pulled into the Sun.  All the planets are made up with all the elements in the same proportion, except for hydrogen, as they were created and all elements are randomly dispersed.  Our own solar system was created in just this way some 4.6 billion years ago.

4.     The Universe is chaotic because every atom in the Universe is positioned randomly; and because at the end of their lives many stars become novas or supernovas which distribute masses of new elements throughout the Universe; and because new stars and solar systems are being formed continuously.  Again let me emphasis that the distribution of elements is random!

5.     The chaos here on Earth is caused by weather, earthquakes, erosion, volcanoes, floods, ice, fire and many other things.  What is significant about this is that all the elements needed to create life are continuously mixing, moving and bumping into one another.  So we have a chaotic planet in a chaotic Universe and the "possibility"that the exact elements which are required for life to form are continuously and naturally being stirred and mixed, in the right proportions!

6.     Given that the chaotic conditions on Earth 3.5 to 4 billion years ago and that life is possible; and given enough time, the probability of life appearing spontaneously is "one"or inevitable!  Given the conditions here on Earth, once we have life it is also inevitablethat the life form, whatever it is, will evolve into another life form which is better suited to survive and propagate, a process which will continue until the ultimate survival tool, intelligence, is produced.  There is only one other step life on this planet can evolve to and that is the wisdom needed to go along with intelligence.   I state this as a FACT because I believe the problems humanity faces cannot be solved without a tremendous increase in the way we apply our intelligence in a wise manner.

NOTE BENE:

It is important that while the watch found lying in the desert does require a watch maker in order for it to exist because the watch is made of metal pieces which must be machined and assembled.  The Laws of Nature do not allow metal to form itself into any shape it desires under any circumstances.  In the above scenario of Life there is no "maker"necessary for life to appear spontaneously here on Earth

Because life is the inevitable result of mixing the correct elements, in the necessary proportions, ( which naturally occurs on a planet like ours) for a long enough time for all possible combinations of elements, in every possible sequence, to happen

And it takes only ONE living cell to form in order to start the process of evolution and eventually populate an entire Planet.  So even if the first living cell doesn't make it, the elements will continue to mix until another living cell forms.  (It is quite possible that life formed several different times with several different organizations while other life forms already existed.  The only requirement for life on this planet is the formation of DNA or RNA as part of the living organism's means of propagation.)  The elements and proteins which make up living organisms are allowed by the Laws of Nature to self assemble just by coming in contact with each other; otherwise Life would not be possible.

In fact we know that the proteins that life requires are relatively easy to produce since outer space contains many of these proteins.  Every living organism on Earth starts out as a single cell which then goes on to guide the assembly of all the cells which make up the organism without any outside interference or help.  There is simply no need for a watch maker for Life to have started on this planet.

We do not need a God for life to have happened.  It happened because the Laws of Nature, which are part and parcel of the Universe, demand that life form and propagate on some planet somewhere in the Universe.  With the Laws of Nature as we understand them to be, life was preordained and inevitable!  We do not need a creation myth because we have the Laws of Nature which tell us exactly how the Universe, the solar system and all life forms on Earth were created.  It isn't as pretty or as exciting (to most people it seems) as most creation myths present, but it is the reality of human existence.

What About God?

Well, the first and only thing I can tell you about Him/Her/It (i.e. God) is that I don't know a single fact about God.  There is not a single scrap of hard evidence which in anyway suggest the existence of God anywhere in the Universe.  Moreover, the Laws of Nature forbid any God that was ever conceived or imagined by humans.  By definition, "Gods"are "supernatural"and the supernaturalism we usually ascribe to human Gods is explicitly forbidden by the Laws of Nature.

The Laws of Nature do not forbid the existence of a Creator; they require only that such a being is outside or beyond human reality.  AND therefore beyond human understanding!

There is no physical evidence that any God ever had any intercourse of any kind with any human.  There are stories but no physical evidence.  Every physical thing which could possibly validate the existence of God has conveniently(for our religions) been lost.  As a logical person, I know I cannot prove or disprove anything about God, and since I cannot prove anything I might believe about God, anything I would say about God would be from my imagination, or maybe I would just be lying to impress you.  In fact no human has ever been more knowledgeable about God than I am.  If you ask anyone to tell you about their God and they start to reply with anything except "I know nothing about God" then just walk away. They will either be schizophrenic or lying to you.  Even the Christian Bible says, in effect, that "no human has ever seen the face of God and lived."

I cannot even begin to imagine what a "Being" with the capability to create something like our Universe would be like.  The best analogy I have been able to make is that God is some wise-assed teenager in another much different Universe, with much different Laws of Nature, who is playing a game and gets his jollies by frustrating humans.  Don't you think that would pretty well explain why the world we live in is in such sad shape?

The best example I can give you on how something as important as an object given to a human by the supreme God of the Universe, personally, face to face almost, is the tale of God's Ten Commandants which were supposedly written in stone by the Hand of God himself.  It is ludicrous to me that such an object could be "lost"under "any" circumstances!  It is ludicrous to me that God would allow such an object to be lost.  He is, after all, supposed to be All Powerful with legions of magical Angles to do his bidding.

I truly believe the Stone Tablets and the Ark of the Covenant in which they were kept were not lost.  They never existed in the first place; just as all the objects which could or would prove or disprove the existence of God never existed anywhere except in human imagination.

I believe the Pope in Rome would be very surprised and extremely unhappy if God were to appear suddenly in his chambers.  He would then need to give up all his glory and power to a real power!

That being said, it is not that I don't believe in God, it is just that I cannot find any proof of God's existence and anything I might say has much greater probability of being wrong that there is of it being right.  I just don't know anything about God and I doubt that any human will ever know anything about God.  If God exist, HE (most people refer to God as the "Father", Male) has chosen to leave us humans totally in the dark.  The Creator has left us alone to figure things out for ourselves.  That is the reality of God!

Or maybe HE does exist and just wants to see what intelligent beings like us can accomplish on our own.  Perhaps it is necessary for us to Prove Ourselves before The Creator will acknowledge us.  If God actually exist, maybe HE did not totally abandon us, after all, there is the "clue" which I discovered in 1986 and which led me directly to the most sought after answer in human history. But it took over 23 years of deep logical analysis and research to prove the answer beyond any scientific doubt.

I know, and I can prove, with scientific accuracy, that the Purpose of Life is based on the clue provided by the fossil record.  I want to emphasize that I am not claiming that God purposely designed the clue as a clue by which the human race could find and understand the True meaning of Life.  All I am claiming is that, whether by chance or design, an understanding of the fossil record does lead one to the inescapable conclusion that the Purpose of Life is simply the "Propagation of Species"

Since there is no communication between me and The Creator, I cannot tell if HE exists or not.  If there is no Creator, then human people are the most fortunate beings in the Universe.  It IS entirely possible that the Universe is nothing but a glitch in the fabric of Space, according to the "Quantum"Laws of Nature.  It is extremely important that all humans understand this "fact"and act accordingly.  Otherwise you will be led down the rosy, slippery path of religion to oblivion.

"Having and raising children to be the best humans they can possibly become"is the "human Purpose of Life".  If this is true then the priority of society should be the care, nourishment and education of all children on Earth.  I can assure you that children are not the priority of any society I am aware of now, or in the past.  And there in lays the primary effect of the primary fault of human societies.

If the human race had put as much resources and effort into caring for, nurturing and educating children as it has into religion and religious wars, the Planet Earth would be a vastly different place from what it is now.

So what do we do about God?  It seems the need for a higher power is an instinctual and therefore needed part of the human make up.  On one hand we have this need for a higher power, but on the other hand we have no factual knowledge of any God ever existing or interacting with humans.  Furthermore, none of the Gods humans have invented have stood the test of time or the test of the Laws of Nature.  I would like to share with you the way I have solved this conundrumfor myself in the following paragraphs.  (I must give credit to Alcoholics Anonymous for some of this.)

With the Big Bang there was a creation event.  A creation event very strongly infers that there was a Creator, some immortal and unimaginably powerful Being who created the Universe for some unimaginable reason.  I cannot begin to imagine what such a "Being" would be like or what motives It might have.  Moreover, there is no way humans can ever know the nature of Creator unless The Creator chooses to allow us to know its nature in some unambiguous way.  Something The Creator has not done since humanity first existed. Even the Christian Bible and Jewish Torah say that no human shall ever know the Face of God.

Exodus 33:20:  "And he said, Thou canst not see my face:  for there shall no man see me, and live."

The implication of a Creator does not necessarily mean that there was indeed a Creator.  The Laws of Nature do not forbid the sudden, spontaneous appearance of the tiny spec which exploded into the Big Bang. It is therefore possible that there was no Creator and no "given"Purpose to the Universe or for Life.  So we have on one hand the possibility of a Creator who does not communicate with humans thus giving no Purpose to Life and on the other hand we have a spontaneously created Universe which just happened.  What is the difference between the two?

Nothing

The reality of human existence is that it makes no difference to us whether there was a Creator or not.  It does not make the slightest change to the reality we inhabit.  We are left on our own to figure out what the Propose of Life is, or probably it would be more accurate to say that we are left with the opportunity to create our own Purpose, something which humanity has been doing since the beginning.  Unfortunately, we have failed every time we have attempted to create a Purpose that would bring Peace on Earth, Goodwill to Man.

The fact that the Creator does not interfere in the affairs of humans is the answer to one of the many questions posed by even the most fervent of believers, questions which have been unanswerable for centuries  If God exist, why, does he allow so much evil to flourish on Earth?"  The answer to that question is "the Creator does not, nor ever has, interfered in the affairs of humans."

I have, after much consideration of the reality I perceive and the Laws of Nature, decided that there probably was a Creator and that the Creator did have a purpose in mind for His creation.  Moreover, that the Creator created clues pointing to what Purpose It intended for humanity so that humanity could one day find the Creator's intended Purpose.  I will not swear to anyone that I am right.  Rather, my belief in a Creator makes much more sense, and is much more helpful in understanding and explaining reality to others.  Throughout the rest of this book, I will present the facts, data and my opinions as if my Creator was real, all the while reminding the reader that this is my distorted perception of reality and as such, it is from my imagination; it is not reality.  More over nothing I have written would need to be changed if I believed that the Universe was a the result of a random quantum effect.

The existence or nonexistence of a Creator is really a meaningless, moot point in our search for the reality of human existence and the Purpose of human Life.

I am really amazed that so many people can be so devoutly committed to their individual religion in a world where such devotion is committed to so many different Gods by so many different people!  And with every one of them swearing, on the fear of death, that their individual God is the One and Only God in reality. To me it seems as though even a fanatic would at some point pause and say "Something is wrong here."  Of course, many religious societies in the past have paused and said "something is wrong here"; but the solution to that problem has always been "kill the infidels and non-believers!"  Never once in human history has any society taken what is the most logical approach to such a problem, i.e.

"Something is wrong, we cannot both be correct.  If his God is the real God then mine must be as false a God as I believe his God is. Hmmmmmm? Maybe we are both wrong???  Maybe we ought not to kill him until we find out."

The conversation could have been something like this if both parties had been wise

Man 1: "Tell me about your God so I can understand you better."

Man2: "OK, blah, blah, blah, etc."

Man1:  "Why do you believe this is true?"

Man 2:  "Because My Good Book says so."

Man 1:  "Who wrote your Good Book?"

Man 2:  "People who were inspired by my God to write the: Good Book."

Man 1:  "How do you know these men were inspired by God and not just smoking some weed?"

Man 2:  "Because My God Book says so."

Man 1: "Hmmmmmmmm?  I believe the same things about my God and my Good book.  Is one of our Gods a false God?  Are there actually two Gods who are using us to fight their battles?  Or are we both wrong in our beliefs?"

Man 2:  "As I look back on what I told you it seems as if my thinking on the subject is somewhat circular.  I am using The Good Book to prove the Good Book is true!"

Man 2:  "Hmmmmmmm?  If we are just fighting My God's personal battle with your God, maybe we ought not to kill each other over something which is not really our business.   Maybe we ought to go grab a beer and sit down and sort this thing out."

While it would have been impossible for ancient societies to have learned the real purpose of Life as the "clue"directing humanity was hidden in the fossil record which the ancients had no way of understanding.  If they were as intelligent as we are today, (and they were) someone could/ought to have, come up with a better solution than "kill the non-believers".

The reason this did not happen is because the human animal is a very "clever"animal, as I have said before.  The Ancients were so cleaver that they design religion to be a "self-for filing prophecy".  It was so clever that the blueprints for religion have been copied and repeated in every human society that has existed since the very beginning.  The key factor in the Ancient's blueprint for religion that made it so successful was the crime of heresy.  If you accepted and obeyed God's Word, you could look forward to a pretty good life and in some religions, "Eternal Life".  However, if you question God in the any way, you die very soon, but only after massive torture is laid upon you.  And then you go to Hell to be punished for the rest of eternity!  Religious societies simply made it a crime, punishable by torture and death into a "Law"!  People in all societies could not survive if they questioned the reality described by their God's Word, and the most powerful instinct in all living organisms is "Survival".  Humanity did and is doing what is required for their very survival.  It was very natural that humans should band together in groups (i.e. religions) for their mutual survival.

Moreover it became imperative that this concept and belief be instilled into the children at the earliest possible time.  Thus began the cycle of parental mistakes being passed on from generation to generation without end.  Human societies have operated this way for over 200,000 years.  Can there be any doubt that this is ingrained into humans to the point where it is almost instinctual.  This is precisely the reason why you cannot even consider the concepts I put before you.

Do you see the dilemma I have put myself into in attempting to share what I have learned about human reality and the Purpose of Life with all humanity?  I cannot apologize for the discomfort I know these concepts bring to you.  There is far, far too much at stake for me to not al least try, in every way I can conceive of, to persuade you to at least consider these concepts carefully before you dismiss them..  The very existence of the human race is at stake.  If you don't believe that, then you are not paying very much attention to what is happening in your world.  This is wrong because one of the basic concepts of Democracy is that "all the citizens be well informed as to what is happening in the country and world."

Just maybe it is time for humanity to invent a new religion, a religion based on something which is common to all humans across the globe; and which is seeable, touchable, unchanging and understandable to every sane human regardless of whatever distortion appears in their view of reality.  We need something that is Eternal and Absolute; and understandable even for children.

There are only two things within the Universe that meet all the criteria, reality, which includes the Laws of Nature, and the Laws of Nature alone which as I mentioned before are the ideal God for humans.  The choice is very simple, you may choose to accept The Laws of Nature without giving up your opposition to accepting human reality as the one and only reality; or you may choose a human reality which includes The Laws of Nature and, as a subset, religious reality.  Once you have made the choice, you may even give it any name you collectively agree upon.  The only differences between what now is practiced as religion and the new religion would be

1.    the Name

2.    The fact you would need to accept the reality that the Creator does not interfere in human affairs, no matter how hard you pray.  This has always been the case although you have probably always before taken God's non-response as the answer NO!  But in fact you got no answer to your prayer because the Creator does not interfere in human affairs.

3.    You would no longer need to lie to yourself and deny human reality in order to practice your faith.

There are very logical reasons the Creator may have chosen or is not able to not interfere in the affairs of humans.  The way you get to these reasons, is to wisely and logically investigate the reality of "freewill".  The investigation must be deep enough to fathom the Creator's intention at the time The Creator gifted humanity with "freewill, intelligence and imagination.  The fact is that the Creator did indeed create sets of Laws by which humanity could understand the Purpose of The Creator in creating the Universe and humans.  Those sets of laws are the Laws of Nature.  The primary difference between religious Doctrines and the Laws of Nature is that it is possible to disobey the religious Doctrines, but it is impossible to disobey The Laws of Nature.  They are constant and unbreakable across all time and space.

1.    In the preordaining of Intelligent Life at the moment of Creation, the Creator presented humanity with several very important and priceless Gifts.  Foremost among these Gifts is "Free Will".  By granting humanity total and complete Free Will, limited only by the Laws of Nature, The Creator promised humanity that He would never interfere in the affairs of humans.  Therefore the Creator bound the Creator Himself to exist within the Laws of Nature which forbid any supernatural existence within human reality.

2.    Were the Creator to try to interfere in the affairs of humans he would need to break one or more of the unbreakable Laws of Nature and the Laws of Nature would no longer by immutable and constant across time and space.

3.    The Creator would need to break His promise to humanity and take away several of the priceless Gifts which were bestowed at the time of Creation.  Being as extremely Logical and Wise as the Creator must be to have Created the Universe, I am inclined to believe that the Creator will never renege on his promise or take back any of the priceless Gifts He has bestowed upon us.

These are the only reasons I can conceive of that are logical in the light of past history for the Creator's hand-off approach to the Creator's own handiwork.  As I have mentioned before, the Universe and the Laws of Nature have proven to be anything except illogical.  Please note that this is pure scientific logic, not some fantasy I have smoked up.  This is the truth which is written very plainly all across the entire history of the Universe.

The Purpose of Human Reality

I have inserted "human"into the Purpose of Life because the human role in the Purpose is much more involved with the offspring than any other living organism.  Propagationis the common function (i.e. purpose) of all living organisms but for humans the process is far more complicated than with any other organism.  Most living organisms, except for birds and mammals, reproduce and leave their offspring to care for themselves.  For many organisms reproduction is the final act as they die soon afterwards.  The fact is that the vast majority of living species does nothing except mature, reproduce and die.  The fact that all organisms on Earth have in common only these three activities is validation that the Purpose of Life is to propagate the species.  Can organisms that do nothing more than mature, reproduce and die serve any other purpose?  I cannot conceive of any other purpose.  And the fact that reproduction/propagation is the only common function (that has nothing to do with the individual organism's survival) in all living organisms is a very strong indication that

"Propagation is the only real Purpose of Life."

The thing that jumped out at me when I first thought I had discovered the "clue"to finding the Purpose of Life was that the fossil record present a 3.8 billion year(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_evolution) factual and researchable record of life on Earth.  This is hard physical evidence that anyone can study and comprehend.  And the scenario of life repeats through out the record.  Organisms appear for some time span and then disappear, leaving behind nothing except their bones to show that they had been here.  And the fossil record is very clear that these ancient organisms did nothing but survive and reproduce.  It is also important to understand that these organisms had very little intelligence and no way to make any decisions.  They lived by instinct alone.  They did what their DNAtold them to do and nothing else.  They could not choose to reproduce or not to reproduce as humans can.

Instinct is not as Webster's dictionary says, "a tendency"!  Instinct is a biological dictator that it is impossible for any living organism, except humans, to disobey.

While there is some disagreement as to whether the meaning of "function"and "purpose"are identical; I believe that in this case the two concepts are identical.  (In the word processor "Microsoft Word"the two words are synonyms of each other!)  If an object is made that only can perform one function, then obviously that function is the purpose of the object.  If this is so then the function performed over billions of years by an uncountable number of organisms with only their instincts to guide them (i.e. They had no choice.), then that function must have been their Purpose also.  From this I can see no alternative except to conclude that the Purpose of Life is reproduction/propagation of the species.  Intelligence in no way separates humans from the lower species in this aspect.  Intelligence is just another defense mechanism which evolved in humans because intelligence gives us a greater probability of survival to the age at which we can reproduce.  Because of our intelligence, unlike all other species, the act of human reproduction requires much more that just fornication and birth.

The human infant is born with a brainthat is almost totally disconnected internally (i.e. the ultimate blank slate.).  As the infant experiences Life, interconnections among neurons are formed which represent each and every experience the infant has.  We call this process "learning".  Everything the infant experiences is recorded in these neuron interconnections and once recorded cannot be erased.  What the infant has learned from a particular experience will remain with them through out their lives.  Ninety percent of everything a child will ever learn (i.e. form interconnects among neurons) will occur during the first 5 years of the child's life.  New interconnections are the primary reason infant brains grow so much during the first 5 years.

The human infant has only two emotions, comfort or discomfort, which determine whether any experience is good or bad, which in turn determine where and how the experience is recorded in the brain.  Bad experiences can override good experiences and thus are more significant to the infant and the adult the infant grows into.  In fact,

The bad experiences of human Infants are the primary forces which produce and shape the child's personality, their view of themselves and of humanity in general.

This is because each individual's personality is formed precisely to avoid the bad experiences recorded in infancy.  The good experiences are taken into account as the personality forms but the effects of bad experiences far out weight the good experiences.

This then is the additional requirement the Purpose of Life places on humans.  All other organisms are programmed by instinct(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instinct ) to do what is necessary to survive. A buffalo or cow infant can stand and find it mother's tits minutes after birth. About the only instinct the human infant is programmed with is the ability to suck and swallow when the mother's nipple is placed in its mouth.  Birth is just the first and easiest step in human reproduction.  The care, nourishment and education of children is required at least until the child becomes teenager, usually 15 to 18 years.  And the first 5 years are the most critical part of a Human's education!

Considering the above, it must be obvious to every intelligent being that humanity is, and has been, doing something wrong for a very long time.  Considering that parenting is the Primary Purpose of human life, why is it that we do not teach our children all that we know about parenting as the priority of human education?  Right now all the training a person gets in parenting is the example of their parents, examples from society as a whole and "On the Job Training"(OJT).  The biggest problem with this method of parental training is that if the parents got it wrong, the offspring will do it wrong also, thus propagating the mistakes parents make from generation to generation for the rest of history.  This is the primary cause of ALL of mankind's self-made problems.  Again, this should be obvious to any intelligent being.  If it is not obvious to you, and it is not obvious to the vast majority of humans, it is because you have been programmed since birth to avoid such realities because they appear to contradict the beliefs of your faith (i.e. This is not the same as your reality, otherwise faith would not be necessary.).  In most human societies the primary Purpose of Life is to do "God's will".  To say that the primary Purpose of humanity is the care, nourishment and education of children is heresy in most societies.  No wonder you avoid such realities.

The great irony of it all is that the primary Purpose most humans naturally strive for is the care, nourishment and education of their children.  Simply ask any mother "what is the most important thing in your life?"  You will get one of two answers, "My children"or "God and my children".  Go ahead, ask some mothers the question and see for yourself.  I will be very surprised if you get any other answer.  The fact is that the care, nourishment and education of our children are a built in priority of the human instinct, one of the few things over which we have little choice.  We can choose to not have children, but once born, we are instinctively driven to place the care, nourishment and education of our children at the top of our priority list (unless we were damaged in our early years).  Does any sane human mother not believe that her children are her main priority?

When I ask you to place the care, nourishment and education of our children above what ever you now believe is the Purpose of Life, I am not actually asking you to give up anything.  I am simply asking you to face the reality that already exists whether you acknowledge it or not.  You do not need to give up your faith nor even change most of what you now do.  Even Jesus Christ said in

Matthew 19:14 "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

Once you face and accept this reality, the cure for all Humanities problems will be obvious to you.

At this point you may ask "How will teaching our children to be parents solve all Humanities problems?"  The answer is really very simple!

Many, if not all of Humanities problems are the result of mistakes parents make during the first 5 years of their child's life. However, if we were to teach our children how to be parents (i.e. Wisdom) in school before they have a chance to become parents, we could break the cycle of insanities, warped personalities, personal quirks, stupidity and poor judgment that are being passed on from generation to generation.  These insanities, warped personalities, personal quirks, stupidity and poor judgmentare imbedded in the child's brain and manifest in the child's personality and internal/external view of themselves and society.  If we break this insidious cycle, within a few generations we would have a world full of good parents, all with the personality and characteristics (i.e. Wisdom) that is required to be a good parent.  I will discuss at length what these personality and characteristics of a good parent are in the chapters entitled "Human Wisdom"and "What It Takes to Be a Good Parent".  For now I will tell you that

All the child needs to learn these things is a good example, hopefully from everyone that comes in contact with the child.  Children learn the most from imitating their parents and/or care givers.

Think about it, no crime, no drug use, no teenage pregnancies, no financial crashes, no stupid debts left for our grandchildren to pay, no more stupid laws passed by the congress, no more stupid Presidents, just to name a few things that would improve in human society if we taught our children to be parents before they became parents; and thereby broke the cycle of insanities, warped personalities, personal quirks, stupidities and bad judgments and poor parenting that are being passed on from generation to generation.

Please stop at this point and in the quietness of your own soul consider what you think human society would be like and how it would change if the care, nourishment and education of all children were the primary activity and purpose of society.  What would the crime rate is such a society be?  What kind of debt would such a society acquire with the intention that it be paid by their grandchildren?  What if society spent as much on the care, nourishment and education of all children as we now waste on war and the preparation for war?  Would a society which placed the care, nourishment and education of all children at the very top of all its objectives ever even consider going to war with another society.  They could not because the taking of a human life is a most complete and absolute rejection of the Purpose of Life possible.

Human Emotions

From the "Encyclopedia of human Emotions"; Macmillan, New York:

"Emotions provide time-tested solutions to the adaptive problems people face. They do this by rapidly coordinating behavioral, experiential, autonomic, and neuroendocrine systems, helping individuals to respond effectively to perceived challenges and opportunities. Thus, when people are afraid, their senses are sharpened, their muscles are primed to move them quickly out of harm's way, and their cardiovascular systems are tuned to provide increased oxygen and energy to large muscle groups that will be called upon when they flee.  However, emotions do not compel people to respond in any one specific way. Unlike reflexes, emotions are flexible. This flexibility permits people to regulate their emotions, often by decreasing them."

The human emotional mechanism sits at the input/output of the brain (i.e. spinal cord) and processes each input/output emotionally before it reaches the input/output to the part of the brain responsible for handling that kind of input/output.  The various parts of the brain which handle specific input/output are very specifically and intensely programmed with many, many neuron interconnections, thereby providing the necessary computing power required for the very complicated and difficult abilities the human body has to perform.  The emotional part of the brain is not programmed so specifically for any task except judging whether or not an input/output is good or bad.  This judgment is based on the earliest emotions the child was able to feel, feel good or feel bad. This is a very general programming which occurs before any input/output reaches the proper place in the brain to be processed.  While this pre-processing does cause many changes to the body, as described in the definition of emotions, the processing is very general and not at all specific.  This is the reason so many mistakes are made in human communication.  One person simply does not understands the intention of the other and that is the beginning of human problems. This pre-processing causes and thereby enables the body to be ready for anything which might threaten survival before the individual is even aware of it in the conscious mind?  These few extra milliseconds may just have been enough edge for your ancestor to have survived or not in the face of danger.  That is the main reason emotions developed early in the evolution of all primates.  Human can do and do some pretty stupid things when emotions are misread, aroused and not controlled.

Self Control of Emotion is at the very heart and meaning of wisdom, so how can we expect our children to control their emotions and act wisely when we do not teach the parents how to teach the children to control their emotions.

The control of one's emotions is the most important lesson a human child will ever learn because emotions are responsible for just about all human mistakes and evil doing.  Those mistakes made for reasons other than emotional are usually due to ignorance which can be corrected.  The stupidity of emotional reactions is forever.

All parents try, out of self defense if no other reason, to teach their children to control their emotions.  Most parents fail to properly teach their children to control their emotions because they do not know for themselves "how" to control their own emotions, and therefore cannot possible teach their children "how" to control their own emotions.  The reason for this is that they, the parents, were never taught "how to control the parent's own emotions.  This is again another example of the mistakes made by one generation being passed onto the next generation.  Once again the reason this is so is that we humans do not teach our children, as the priority of society, how to be parents.  If the child does not learn to control their emotions within the first five years of Life, then the whole ball game is lost.  The child will never be able to control his or her emotions and that inability is demonstrated daily by the majority of humans across all societies.

Most parents put their best effort into teaching their children emotional self control; and most parents fail because they do not control their own emotions.  You can tell a child from dawn to dusk that they must control their emotions, but one emotional outburst from the mother aimed at the child will not only destroy all that went into teaching self control.  It will also destroy the very capability of self control in the child to some degree, sometimes totally as in the case of insanity occurring early in a child's Life.

The human infant is a very perceptive organism when it comes to emotions because the ability to perceive emotions is one of the most powerful abilities the human is naturally born with.

The emotional part of the human brain is a physical lump of neurons positioned near the spinal cord which try to act as the director (i.e. boss) of the entire brain.  At birth these neurons have no instincts except feel good or feel bad.  These neurons must be programmed (i.e. Interconnected) by the learning experience just as the rest of the brain requires programming.  The perception of emotions in others is a necessary mechanism which is common to all primates.  It is one of the few mechanisms which are pre-wired (i.e. Instinctual) in the human infant because it is such a necessary portion of a communal animal to exist together in a group.  Do you think humans could have survived if each human went off by themselves and just got together once a year to mate?  The human is the ultimate communal animal because of our ability for speech.

I truly believe that uncontrolled emotions are the greatest legacy that human religions have pasted down to us.  In the avoidance demanded by adherence to any religion to anything not specified in their Religious Doctrines, humanity has cut itself off from the only real wisdom in the Universe, human reality and the Laws of Nature.  Evolution is how humans came to be human, whether you believe it or not.  The only way that you can reject evolution is by rejecting all human reality that isn't programmed into your good book.  This is the way humanity has avoided obtaining wisdom for so long.  No religion can survive if it is allowed to be questioned in any way.

Human reality does indeed question the reality of all religions.  This is why we come with curiosity built in at birth.  This is why humans so desperately need a Purpose/reason for existing.  We are instinctively programmed to want to know the "why"and "how"of everything we observe or experience.  Religion does not, cannot provide any proof of any "why"or "how" humans exist beyond what the good book says is so.  How do we know the good book is always right?  Because the good book says it is so!  If you don't think that is thinking in meaningless circles then you are quite literarily cutting yourself off from human reality, the only source of true wisdom.  Please read the next chapter so you can get a feel for what you are missing.

The Meaning And Benefits Of Wisdom

Let's define the Word "wisdom"first.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

"Wisdomis a deep understanding and realizing of people, things, events or situations, resulting in the ability to choose or act to consistently produce the optimum results with a minimum of time and energy.

Please note, knowledge ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knowledge) is the basic requirement of wisdom!  Please also note that Plato'sformulation of knowledge is "justifiedtrue belief."  Also note that humanity is so screwed up that it cannot even agree on a definition for the words "knowledge"or "reality".  Is it any wonder that so much of humanity does not have any wisdom to apply to our desperate situation?  Does not this fact alone implicitly and inalterably lead to the conclusion that something is terribly wrong with human societies?

Think about it, do you know any humans who only act with wisdom as described above? I am willing to bet that there will be very few "yes" answers to that question.  I certainly do not know but one with such wisdom.  Why is this?  If you read and understand the definition above, it seems as if everyone would want to be wise, out of self-interest if nothing else.

Again the answer is very simple.  Look at the very end of the definition for the highlighted passage. ("so that one's principles, reason and knowledge prevail to determine one's actions.") No human religion ever conceived on Earth could withstand the scrutiny required by this definition of "wisdom".  We have been taught since birth to avoid such realities as they are heretical or in opposition to the church and to society.  Under such scrutiny all the fables and myths which are presently taught as realities would be reveled for what they actually are ... "Human imagination!"  It is impossible for any religion ever conceived on Earth to pass the test of reality imposed and demanded by the application of wisdom.  Certainly no Creation myth could pass the test of reality, and that in itself would invalidate (or at least bring into question) all the fables and myths that are presently taught as "The Word of God".  What a disaster that would be for humanity; unless humanity had a better alternative for these fables and myths.

The personalities and characteristics of a good parent allow for wisdom to develop naturally as a child matures, only if they have some guidance along the path during their earliest years (i.e. examples).  Furthermore, the personalities and characteristics of a good parent demand that the parent present such examples to the child at ALL TIMES and in ALL WAYS!

Will there ever be a "perfect"parent who never makes a mistake?  No, there probably will never be a perfect parent.  But perfection is not the goal, raising a wise, healthy child, both physically and mentally, is the goal.  Human infants are very forgiving of mistakes make once or twice, it is the repeated and continuous abuse that warps children's minds.  The personalities and characteristics of a good parent forbid such repeated and continuous abuse, as you will see in the chapter "What it Takes to Be a Good Parent".

Can you imagine what the world would be like if most humans acted with such wisdom in everything they do?  It is mind-boggling to try to image such a society.  It immediately becomes clear (at least it did for me)

That ALL human problems can be solved by a large number of wise people, if each is striving toward a common Purpose.

Can you imaging any human problem which could withstand such an application of energy and intelligence?  I think not!

The most beautiful thing about this is that it can be accomplished very easily by the simple act of teaching our children to be parents and thereby breaking the cycle of mistakes made by parents being passed from generation to generation!

In the following chapters of this book I shall outline with broad strokes the steps I believe humanity must take if humans are to solve the problems we now face.  I say outline with broad strokes because I don't believe I can provide the final answer for any of our huge problems.  It is my hope that this book will be a wake up call to humanity so that others who are smarter, stronger and better educated than I will take up the challenge and lead

"The Fifth Revolution".

Author's note: Please allow me to repeat something I wrote near the beginning of this book.

You can copy any Word or phrase in this book into your Google search engine; then click "search"and you will be directed toward one or more references to articles about the Word or phrase which you can use as scientific proof of the concept.  If the article is from a scientific journal, encyclopedia or dictionary; and if you question the article's validity, don't ask me about it, ask the articles author's peers who reviewed, tested and approved of the concept before publication, or contact the publisher of the encyclopedia or dictionary.  If it is not from a scientific journal, encyclopedia or dictionary then you have selected a reference which I did not use.

What It Takes To Be A Good Parent

The best way to become a good parent is to have had good parents yourself.  Imitating their mother is the primary way human girls learn to be mothers and imitating their father is the primary way human boys learn to be fathers.

The best possible way to educate children is by example.  It is part of the built-in instinct of children to imitate their parents. This means that parents must live the way they want their children to live.  If all a child ever experiences is unconditional love, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unconditional_love)

honesty, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/honesty)

honor, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/honor)

purpose, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/purpose)

persistence, ( http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/persistent)

diligence, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/diligence)

dedication, (http://ie.encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Dedication)

self sufficiency, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/self_sufficiency)

self confidence, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/self_confidence)

self control, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/self_control), that child will grow into an adult who is capable of and gives unconditional love and who manifest the characteristics of honesty, honor, purpose, persistence, diligence, dedication, self sufficiency, self confidence and self control.  What is more, a person like this is almost by definition a happy person, no matter their circumstances in life.  Are these characteristics not viewed as virtuous by all human societies?

There will probably be many who will read the above and ask "I wonder what he is smoking?"  This is not a hopeless fantasy that all people can grow up perfectly, humans can only be as perfect as they know how to be and there is a lot humanity doesn't know yet.  We are discussing the characteristics that are needed in order to be a "Good Parent."  Unless we understand exactly what those characteristics are, we cannot teach them to Earth's children; and that is what this chapter, this book, this life, this planet and this Universe are all about(i.e. Teaching our children to be good parents!)

What I am talking about is teaching all human children that go to public school from kindergarten though their senior year and graduate, the same characteristics that U.S Marine enlistees, mainly unruly teenagers from poor families, are expected to learn in merely 13 weeks of boot camp training.  We have 13 years to accomplish the same task.  Surely human intelligence can devise a school program for all children that will surpass the U.S. Marines example of what can be accomplished within late age teenagers?

These are the personal "characteristics"it takes to be a good parent.  The other requirements it takes to be a good parent are:

1.    Wisdom and the ability to display it in everything we do!

2.    Financial stability, insurance and sufficient income and wealth to properly care for both the children and their mother.  (We must at least have a job!)

3.    An education sufficient to appreciate technical developments and technical news reports, as well as have good interpretations of the current local, national and international events; and of historical events.  The more educated you are the better (along with making more money that otherwise) you will be able to answer your children's questions as to the "why"about everything.  Providing (i.e. knowing or knowing how to find) the correct answer yourself will be in the better interest of both you and your children.

4.    Genetic health sufficient that you do not produce genetically impaired children.  This is the way humanity will end genetic diseases.  If these diseases are not passed on by the parents to the children, the disease ends for that line of humans with the parent generation's death.

If you have the above listed qualifications, and are one who is capable of and gives unconditional love and who manifest the characteristics of honesty, honor, purpose, persistence, diligence, dedication, self sufficiency, self confidence and self control, then you have a chance to become a "good parent".  Without these qualifications and characteristics, the best you can hope for is to be a poor parent, period.  It is kind of like being pregnant, you either are or you are not.  There is no in between!

The second best way, and the only avenue open to humanity right now, is to admit that in all human societies, most mothers and fathers became parents without the slightest clue as to how to be a Good Parent, and in most cases screw-up their children's self-image to some degree, usually to the point where the child reaches adulthood, at least partly, unable to correctly function in all situations in a normal human society, as is the case with most humans who ever lived.  (That is why there is such a great disparity between human social classes.  Because there are so many dysfunctional humans in every human society, Society has made room at the bottom for the dysfunctional among us.  Even a slight impairment usually results in the person being committed to the lower rungs of the social ladder, a place where it is almost impossible to climb up.)

Having admitted that most humans are lacking in parenting skills, and that parenting skills are the most necessary skill humans need, it becomes obvious that the only possible way to correct the situation is to turn our schools into a parenting class and in the process, undo what ever damage the parents caused during the first 5 to 6 years of the child's Life.

The greatest and possibly the only roadblock to this plan is that there are very few human parents alive today who will admit that they are bad parents, and certainly very few who would even consider for one second allowing the public school system to probe their child's mind looking to correct any mistakes made by the parents.  This roadblock is so strong that I fully expect to receive death threats because I have suggested this avenue to solving Humanities problems.  (I am a Marine, I am also an expert with the Colt .45 automatic pistol, so bring them on!)  This is the reason I have said that it will be impossible for anyone of the presently living generations to accomplish the task of saving humanity.

I am hoping that the living generations of humanity have enough wisdom, and enough people with the wisdom to create at least a few schools based on the principles outlined I this book, if only to test the concept.  What I think will happen then is that people will notice the success the graduates of these schools will enjoy and want the same for their children.  The system will expand slowly (i.e. generations), though perhaps logarithmically, until the success rate of the system's graduates is so overwhelming that those individuals and countries that do not attend or adopt the system will become economically disadvantaged.  When that happens the entire world will adopt the system I have outline in this book within one generation.

The Wise Educational System

The greater part of fulfilling the Purpose of Life and raising children is educating them.  Through education we give the children the knowledge, the belief system and the tools they need to go on and build the next generation of society.  The way we shape our children determines the shape of not only the next generation of society, but all succeeding generations of society for centuries to come.  Is there anything conceivable that our efforts, our knowledge and our wealth and resources could be spent on as important as this? I think not!

Most failures of past civilizations can be traced to the simple fact that past human societies have failed to educate their children properly.  For the most part children were taught a small portion of human knowledge and a great deal of human faith, faith based on ancient myths and fables, not on any reality that could be verified.  The primary objective of education was to teach children to conform to the local culture.  A large part of this was because the human race did not possess very much knowledge of reality and a larger part was the fact faith in the prevailing religion was necessary for the ruling class to control society and propagate itself.

An example of the failed education of past civilizations is the prevalence of fairy tales across all human societies.  What fairy tales teach children is the belief in magic.  This belief is necessary in adults because a large part of any religion is contained in magical happenings.  If we teach children from infancy to believe in magic then they automatically can have the necessary faith when they become adults.

If we are to educate our children properly it is absolutely vital that we teach them the Truth, the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth as best as we humans can possibly know the Truth.  If we lie to our children, whether purposely or through ignorance, we essentially prevent them from ever learning the truth that maybe obscured by the lie. In lying to our children we give them permission to lie also and thus denigrate any morality we are trying to teach them. When we lie to our children we are preventing them from ever having a chance to reach their full potential as human beings.  When we lie to our children we are inserting a flaw into the fabric of the next generation of society, a flaw that quite possibly could perpetuate for many generations.

The worst possible way to try to educate children is the "do as I say, not as I do"approach.  Children have a very strong, instinctual "bullshit"detector.  They distain any form of hypocrisy.  This is the primary reason children disobey their parents; they don't trust their parents and don't believe them.

The best possible way to educate children is by example.  It is part of the built-in instinct of children to imitate their parents. This means that parents must live the way they want their children to live.  If all a child ever experiences is unconditional love, honesty, honor, purpose, persistence, diligence, dedication, self sufficiency, self confidence and self control, that child will grow into an adult who is capable of and gives unconditional love and who manifest the characteristics of honesty, honor, purpose, persistence, diligence, dedication, self sufficiency, self confidence and self control.  What is more ... .a person like this is almost by definition a happy person, no matter their circumstances in life.  Wouldn't it be nice if every human child could grow into such and adult?  Who would not want this for their children?

Because children learn 90% of everything they will ever learn by the age of five, the first five years of education are the most important (i.e. critical) years of the child's education.  Two people are responsible for these first crucial years of a child's education, the mother and father of the child.  And yet, most humans enter into parenthood totally ignorant of the way infants learn.  Most new parents have no clue as to the most important things the infant will learn whether purposely taught or not; nor of the primary way in which infants learn their most important lessons.  Because of this there is a serious lacking in the education of humans.  Parents must first be taught how to be good parents before they become parents.

Teaching children to be good parents should and MUST be the primary objective of all education in human society.  This education starts during the first five years of children's lives and is best taught by the example of good parenting the child experiences during these first critical years.  The training of children after the first five years must continue with the primary objective of teaching children to be parents and this objective must take priority over all other considerations because this is the only possible way to insure the success of children in their pursuit of the Purpose of Life.  Unless children mature into adults with the knowledge, ability and capability, and moreover an overwhelming desire to be perfectparents to their children, they are doomed to failure.  No human can practice that which it is ignorant of.

Since perfection is not humanly possible it is most important that human education after the first five years include the correction of mistakes made by parents during the first five years of each child's life.  Such education will offend many parents who were taught by their parents that their own personal way of raising children was correct and that neither their parents nor they made are making or have made any major mistakes in raising their children.  Many people believe that children just naturally turn out to be good or bad adults because it is just in the child's nature to be good or bad.  This is a fallacy which is ingrained in most human societies and perpetuated by the very fact it is such an integral part of what the children are taught in infancy; and which must be rooted out of human society by any and all means possible.

This fact of human societies will be the most difficult obstacle to overcome if human societies are ever to approach anything like an ideal educational system.  If we are to overcome this obstacle there are two facts which need to be accepted by human societies as absolute

1.     uman children are born with only the instinct to survive.  They possess absolutely no knowledge or inclination beyond this instinctual urge.  They are aware of only two things, comfort and discomfort.  These two "emotions", through the life experience each human encounters, develop naturally into the full range of emotions the individual will express through out life.  Everything any human can or will ever be or do is the result the way they are taught; and the emotions they are taught by their experiences in life.  They will strive for and be attracted to those experiences which give them comfort; and they will avoid and be repelled away from those experiences which give them discomfort.  Every individual human knows from their own life experiences the kinds of experiences that bring comfort and the kinds of experience that bring discomfort and should strive to give their children only the kinds of experiences that bring comfort to all humans.

2.    The worst possible thing we can teach our children is that we the parent, know for absolutely sure anything about anything except the Laws of Nature.  We must not teach our children that our way or the way our parents taught us is the only right way, for in so doing we prevent them from looking for and perhaps finding a better way. The fact is that it is impossible for us to know anything for absolutely sure beyond the Laws of Nature and what knowledge we can logically and collectively deduce from our understanding of the Laws of Nature.  Everything beyond this is simply conjecture and imagination which changes from society to society.  The only concrete and unchanging absolute Truth that exists anywhere in this Universe is the Laws of Nature.  It is most important that we teach our children all we know about the Laws of Nature, including the fact that our knowledge of these Laws is incomplete.  We must teach our children that it is their duty and responsibility to seek to improve our knowledge of the Laws of Nature; and to seek new and better ways to accomplish life goals.  We absolutely do not want, as has been the goal of all human societies in the past, our children to be like us, rather we want them to be better than us in every way; and better able to confront their problems and the problems of society in every way.

I believe I have outlined in the proceeding paragraphs the foundations required for proper human education.  The fundamental objective of human education must be to give children the knowledge and means to accomplish the Purpose of Life, the proper raising and education of their children.  We can best accomplish this through instilling in children the capability for giving and receiving unconditional love; and the characteristics of honesty, honor, purpose, persistence, diligence, dedication, self sufficiency, self confidence and self control; along with a sound foundation in and understanding of the Laws of Nature.  In other Words we must teach children how to be happy and successful; and how to avoid the mistakes our generation and all proceeding generations of humans have made.

The Teaching Computer

Second only to the "printing press "the "computer" is the greatest achievement in human history.  In fact the computer may surpass the printing press in importance.  The importance of the computer to human societies is that like all other human tools, the computer is a tool which "amplifies"human abilities and makes it possible to accomplish much, much more than we could without the tool.  Our eyeglasses, magnifying glasses, microscopes and telescopes amplify our ability to see by orders of magnitude greater than possible without them. The hearing aid literally amplifies sound so we can hear better.  Other machines make it possible to lift and move things much larger and heavier than even a large number of humans can accomplish in concert.  A very strong man can throw a stone a few hundred feet into the air at best, while our rocket machines can heave a battleship into orbit around the Earth and send robot probes to other planets in the solar system.

The computer is a tool which amplifies the most powerful and important capability humans have; the ability of our brains.  The computer is a tool of the human mind and as such does and will continue to improve and amplify that ability.  The computer will make possible the advancement and improvement of the human condition in ways that even the most futuristic minds of today cannot even imagine.  The computer will be used to develop, and will be an integral part of, every advancement and improvement mankind makes for itself from now on until the end of human time.  The importance of the computer to human society cannot be overstated.

The Teaching Computer (TC) will be, if not the most important, one of the most important computer developments in the 21stcentury.  It is already on the drawing boards and most of the technologies necessary to implement it already exist.  The TC will appear similar to the laptop computers we are most of us now familiar with, but with much greater capabilities, particularly in the areas of power, speed, memory capacity, graphics, human interface and security.  The TC will actually simply be a very powerful general purpose computer applicable to almost any computer task.  What will distinguish the TC from general purpose computers is the software which will be implemented in the TC.

The software for the TC will be developed specifically to allow it to perform as the most perfect "teaching tutor" conceivable by human imagination.  The software will allow the TC to tutor any subject within human knowledge or imagination in a way that is most conducive to learning any subject, and do it in a way that is compatible with the previous education and the skill level of the student.  The TC will automatically adjust the lesson presented to the skill level and attitude of the student, presenting each lesson in a multitude ways most compatible with the student's current level of achievement and particular taste and requirements.

By connecting to the Internet the TC will make available to every child on Earth the total of all human knowledge.  In protecting children from negative influences, the TC will automatically bar access to those sites like pornography which are deemed by society to be negative influences, possible even requiring a special Internet to be developed for children only.

The graphic capability of the TC will allow lessons to be presented in 3D virtual reality presentations by which the student will feel as if they are actually part of the lesson.  For instance, history could be presented from the view point of the major participants in that historical event, like having Abraham Lincoln telling the students all of his thinking and thoughts about the civil war or participants of great battles who fought and died on both sides relating their experiences much as a grandfather might relate to his grand children.  Science education such as in chemistry or physics would be presented as if the student were part of each experiment, like being able to experience what each molecule goes through in a chemical reaction; or the experience of a falling body as it increases in speed until it reaches orbital velocity.  Math would be taught with animated numbers which act out the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.  The possibilities of presenting different kinds of different lessons are only limited by human imagination which has no limits.

The software for the TC will be "open source"software much like the Linux operating systems in today's computers.  Companies across the world would compete with each other to produce the best and most comprehensive systems for the tremendous world wide market.  The programming skills required to write TC programs world be wide spread talents allowing millions of the most talented people in the world, and especially children to write programs for the TC thus insuring the software would always be the latest, best and most powerful software available.  Being open source the software would be inexpensive and even free for those who could not otherwise afford it.

The TC would allow every human born, especially children, anywhere on Earth, access to the best education possible.  The TC would allow every student at any level to progress at their own individual pace, and to study anything their passions lead them to desire to know about to any depth they desire.  The TC would free human teachers from most of the drudgery associated with teaching and allow them to encourage capable students to progress as far as they can as fast as they can without being held back by less fortunate students.  Human teachers would have more time to give individual students who require one on one tutoring without boring more advanced students.  Human teachers would also have more time to devote to human subjects like morality, ethics, personal health, social studies and interpersonal relationships that humans are much better suited at teaching that even the best computer tutors could ever be.

The TC will make possible a significant reduction in the cost of public education in a number of ways.   Primarily by improving the teacher to student ratio without raising the cost; and by eliminating much of the hardware that is now needed to provide a complete education (i.e. chemistry and physics labs).

The Wise Public School

The Fifth Revolution, the Age of Wisdom and the development of a wise human society will be accomplished primarily in the world public school systems.  This will be happen over time as first private schools, and later isolated local public school districts develop and adapt curriculums to properly educate children based on the principals I suggested in the previous chapters.

The primary difference between these new school curriculums and our present curriculums will be the primary objective of the curriculums.  Instead of the "3R's, reading riting and rithmatic, the new curriculums will have two primary objectives, first - the educating of children to be parents; and second - the correction of mistakes made by the parents of the children during the first six years before the children enter the school.  Another difference will be the operation and staffing of the schools.

These new school systems will have much larger staffs than is present in today's schools.  The adult to child ratio will be on the order of one adult for each five students.  About one half of the adult staff will be retired senior citizen and college student volunteers functioning as teacher aids.  Formal class sizes would be limited to ten students with one teacher and one teacher aid usually.

The first two years of school would be devoted to teaching the children the basics just as it is now but with much greater emphasis on computer skills.  Each child will have their own personal "Teaching Computer"(TC) as I have described in a previous chapter.  Although writing skills and penmanship will be taught as it is now, typing will also be taught and by the end of the second year each child will be a skilled and fast typist with an intimate knowledge of the Internet and searching.

The Teaching Computer will be a very powerful laptop computer, programmed with all the courses available at each grade level.  The TC is a marvelous teaching tool, able to present each lesson at the child optimum learning rate and able to present the lessons tirelessly in various ways depending on the child's inclination and progress.  The TC will even be able to adjust to the child's attitude.  They will be programmed with best teaching knowledge and skills available to the entire human race.  The TC and the Internet will make available to every child on Earth the best education the human race can provide, affordable for even the poorest.

After the second year of the new school the grade levels will become blurred. The teaching of most subjects will shift from classroom instruction to the TC courses.  The computer will then teach the children the subjects best taught by the tutor like TC; and the teachers can concentrate on helping those students who need help and on subjects best taught by humans like morals and interpersonal relationships. Each child will be encouraged to precede through the lesson at what ever pace suites them.  Children who fall behind will receive the extra help they need to keep up.  Those that can proceed faster will be encouraged to go deeper into the subject and to move on to more advances subjects.  Classes will be more like club meetings where student meet with the teacher to discuss what they have learned from the TC and to ask questions to clarify things they are not sure of.  The classes give teachers the means to monitor each student's progress and to give guidance where it is needed.  In many cases the teacher would not need to meet with the students more than one or two times a week.  Teacher aids would provide the adult guidance necessary and the children would tutor each other, much as patients in group therapy help each other.  This would not only give teachers much more time to tutor individuals who need more help and to communicate with parents; it would also foster a much richer learning environment for the students.  Student would be invited to join advanced classes when they advance beyond their grade level so that any given class could have members from many differing grade or age levels.  If any child is so inclined and capable they could finish high school by age 12 or 13 and go on to college level courses.

These new schools will have a much greater interaction between teachers and parents with weekly parent/teacher gatherings with most parents and teachers attending.  These gatherings would allow teachers and administrators present and discuss future school operations and allow parents to provide feedback on current operations and to suggest new directions.  The fact that in the beginning these schools will be private schools or small school districts set up by locally elected school boards insures that the these gatherings would be attended by a significant number of parents thereby leading to very productive meetings.

Defining a good parent is a lot like defining pornography, as the judge said "I don't know what it is, but I know it when I see it."  If we are to teach our children to be good parents, we must have a better definition than that else we won't know what to teach our children.  I define a good parent as

"a person who is successful at their chosen profession, is financially stable and has the resources to provide for a child's needs; and is capable of giving unconditional love and has the characteristics of honesty, honor, purpose, persistence, diligence, dedication, self sufficiency, self confidence and self control and is able to project these characteristics in every interaction with the child."

How can we teach this to children?  The first part is relatively simple.  If we give a child a sound literal and technical education they are very likely to become successful in their chosen careers and to be financially stable enough to be capable of supplying a child's needs.  We know how to do this.  We do it and have been doing it in thousands of schools all across the world for thousands of years.  It is in the second part we run into trouble.  It is kind of a chicken and egg perplexity ... .which came first, the chicken or the egg?

We know that most of a child's personality and character are developed during the first six years of the child's life.  We also know that if the parent's personality and character include the capability of giving unconditional love and the characteristics of honesty, honor, purpose, persistence, diligence, dedication, self sufficiency, self confidence and self control; and demonstrate them in all aspects of their lives, there is a very high probability their children will also have a similar personality and character, with the same personal characteristics.

Let's face it folks, there are not many of us who can live up to these standards every day, 24 hours a day.  Most of us don't even come close enough to be in the same ballpark.  Why not?  The simple fact is that to the extent our parents lacked the desired personality and character; we never had a chance to acquire those missing pieces.  It wasn't an option for most of us because the paths to developing those missing character traits were simply closed off.  We are all of us; all human beings are born with the same tangled mass of unconnected neurons within our skulls.  If the proper neurons are not triggered to fire and interconnect, and repeatedly fired daily over the full course of our first five years of life the missing character traits simply do not get wired into our brains.

More over if negative character flaws do get programmed in they overwhelm and weaken connections that would otherwise lead to good characteristics.  Consider that the slightest, single rejection of an infant by a primary care giver triggers an interconnection within the brain and degrades that child's self image in a way that completely overrides all accepting experiences.  All the love henceforth heaped on that child is colored in the infant's perception by that single interconnection of rejection.  Now consider if the abuse (and the slightest rejection of an infant is abuse) is constant?  The helpless infant matures into a prison of self loathing, a prison from which it can never escape.

Fortunately the human brain is a very plastic organ capable of re-wiring itself; and just as fortunately sever child abuse is rare in human societies. Because of this it is possible, with proper education and/or medication and therapy, to correct most of the mistakes parents make during the first five years of their child's life.  And all parents make some mistakes!

This is the reason for the second objective of the new school system, the correction of parent's mistakes.  All of the teachers in the new school system will be specifically trained to spot and deal with problems any of the students have.  All of the children's problems will be dealt with according to the severity of the problem, including group therapy, referral to outside resources and mandatory therapy for the parents and children where warranted.  Some of you may shrink back from this idea of the school system incorporating mental health as part of the school curriculum, but bear in mind, in the beginning these will be schools where the parents have opted to enroll their children specifically because they want this curriculum for themselves and their children.

This is why the Teaching Computer will play such a large part in the schools operation.  I estimate teachers in the new school will spend more than 60% of their time counseling and interacting with students one on one. The TC will allow teachers to have enough free time away from the class room to accomplish these one on one interactions.

The senior citizen and college student volunteer teacher aids will also play a large part in the success of the both the school system and the students.  They will be rigorously screened and trained to complement the teachers.  There are so many senior citizens, with so much to offer children, whose talents and experiences are being discarded and ignored.  I predict these senior citizen teaching aid positions will be hungrily sought by seniors and be considered such premium positions that there will be many more application than positions available.  I predict that the experience gained by the college student aids will prove so valuable to students seeking a career in education that the college student applications will also far exceed available positions.  In the beginning the senior citizen and college student teaching will do much to spread the Word about the success of the new educational system.

It will not happen overnight, it will take a few generations of parents learning to be parents in childhood before the full implications of this educational system for society are realized.  But I believe the school system will achieve significant recognition in a very short time.  The reason for this will be the success of the system as demonstrated by the success of the students.  Drug abuse and juvenile delinquency among students in these new schools will be the lowest of any school system in the country, while overall academic achievement will be among the highest. The crime rate among students of these schools will also be among the lowest in the nation. The system will achieve a high school completion rate in the high 90 percentile, in some cases approaching 100%. Seventy percent or more of its graduates will go on to complete college.  The success achieved by the graduates in adulthood will also be notable, with far fewer failed marriages and a much lower rate of health and mental problems.  Alcoholism will be rare among graduates as will be drug abuse and criminal activity.

The cost of this new school system will be relatively inexpensive compared with out current educational system especially considering the teacher to student ratio.  Many of the problems and cost now encountered will be eliminated through better management and better control of the students.  Much of the equipment now deemed necessary for a modern school will be eliminated and replaced by the Teaching Computer and software.  Even class rooms like chemistry lab will not be necessary as students will be able to perform "virtual"experiments on their TCs and gain probably more and better experiences than they could in a lab; without any possibility of accidents. The smaller class sizes require less space and more class rooms can be fitted in smaller spaces.  A large part of the curriculum will be devoted to personal health such as good nutrition and the avoidance of chemical stimulants.  Obesity will be strongly discouraged and the causes of obesity will be treated rigorously.  Students will be taught in the strongest way that the human body is a temple to be worshipped and never degraded by unhealthy practices. As a result much of the health cost now incurred both by the school and by parents will be greatly reduced by having earlier detection of medical problems and by having a healthier student body.  Security will also be a much smaller problem because of the tighter control of the students made possible by the smaller teacher to student ratio.  With the extra time afforded by the TC and the additional adult supervision provided by teacher aids there will never need to be any part of the school grounds unsupervised by an adult.

These kinds of successes will not go unnoticed by the media and will be widely reported.  For this reason and the reasons outlined above I believe the new school system I am proposing will spread exponentially across the country and eventually be accepted and even mandated by federal law.  This will happen because the superior education and capabilities of the system's graduates will produce an economic growth in this country the likes of which has never been experienced in any human society.  As the system spreads the high school dropout rate will fall to the lowest in the world while the percentage of Americans with college degrees and advanced college degrees will exceed every other nation on Earth by a significant margin.  Crime rates, drug abuse, alcoholism and mental health problems will fall to the lowest rate ever experienced by any nation.  The overall health of the nation's population will dramatically improve to the point health care cost decreases to the lowest per capital rate of any nation, ever.

The rest of the nations in the world will need to follow our example out of self-defense else they be overwhelmed by our industrial and commercial might.  I predict that within 10 years of this new educational system being implemented in this country nation wide, the rest of the world will follow suite.  In due time the dramatic improvements wrought to American society by this new educational system will begin flowing to the entire human population.

(I would hope that very early on some philanthropic organization will take it upon itself to implement this new educational system in at least one new school established in the heart of one of the poorest and most struggling school districts in the nation.  This school will hopefully be established in an area where the school dropout rates, drug abuse rates and crime rates are the highest in the nation.  It would be a school with a capacity of about 600 students spread across grades 1 through 12, taken from surrounding school districts and representing a true cross section of the area's population.

The school would require 60 teachers, 12 administrative and support staff, along with 60 senior citizen and 60 college student volunteers.  The salaries of the teachers, administrative and support staff would be high for like positions in order to be sufficient to attract the best teachers available from the local area.

The project would require a 13 year commitment from the philanthropic organization.  The first year would be spent acquiring the school facilities and hiring the teachers and staff; and allowing them the rest of the first year to plan and organize the school curriculum.  The first students would be selected by lottery from an area surrounding the school defined by the ability of the students to get to and from school and home without public assistance.

The cost estimate of the entire project spread over 13 years would be approximately $100 million.  I have based this cost primarily on the average teacher salary in Washington DC of $58,000.  I have increased this by 50% in order to attract the best teachers in the local area.  The staff salaries I have based on an average equal to a teachers salary.  The startup cost, including acquiring materials, a building and renovating it is estimated at approximately $4.6 million considering the school will be in an economically depressed area.  Much of the renovation is expected be accomplished by community organizations and volunteers. Six hundred dollars per each of the first year's students is intended to purchase a laptop computer for each student. An additional $270,000 is allocated for new student computers each year.  Another $400,000 is intended to for networking the school so that each student has access to the Internet in every classroom.  For yearly maintenance and miscellaneous expenses I have included approximately $800,000 per year.

Considering that the 10 year cost of public education for the same 600 students per year over a 10 year period (based on the current per student cost without adding inflation) in Washington DC is approximately $78 million, and that my estimate increases teacher's salaries by 50%; this project, if it could be accomplished within my estimates, would be a real bargain, and well within the price range of many American philanthropic organizations.  Its only about $8 million per year!

The reason I so fervently hope this will be accomplished is that this would be the most difficult test the new education system could be put to.  If this project succeeded even modestly, it would be a blockbuster achievement in educational development in American.  If it succeeded to the extent I believe it would, it would be the greatest single philanthropic undertaking in history, producing more bang for the buck than any other such effort ever has had.  The success of such a project would hasten the implementation and spread of this new educational by generations.  Its success would lead to the greatest leap of human civilization since the advent of agriculture. And this would be just the start, the tip of the iceberg, of the radical changes in human society that would follow within a few human generations.

A New Development

I have recently discovered that a school for black children already exists in New York City's Harlem district.  The school is named "Harlem Children's Zone."   (http://www.hcz.org/).  It was developed and is run by "Mr. Geoffrey Canada."  From what I have been able to learn, the school practices some of the hypothesizes I have outlined in this book.  Ctrl/Click here for the story

The school is organized and operates in a manner very similar to the educational system I have outlined herein.  The success rate of "Harlem Children's Zone"has been phenomenal!  President Obama has promised to create 20 more such schools, organized and operated as closely as possible to the model demonstrated by Mr. Canada.  "Harlem Children's Zone"typesof schools. (http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=7423808&page=1)

I could never have hoped for a better conformation of the "Wise Public School"hypothesis outlined in this book.  Mr. Canada has created this miracle from an initial investment of $76 million, with an approximate $5,000 per student per year cost for 1,200 students; much less than I have estimated.  However I am not going to change my estimate because I do not believe anyone can accomplish as much as Mr. Canada has done with so little money.  It is truly a miracle!

The Wise Business System

Business is such a large part of human activity that it is not possible for the Fifth Revolution to get started or to proceed very far unless human business joins in the Fifth Revolution and the pursuit of the Purpose of Life in the cause of all humans.

Business is usually defined as "the production of goods and services for sale at a profit."  In pursuit of the Purpose of Life I would amend that definition to read "the production of goods and services for sale at a profit in pursuit of the fulfillment of the Purpose of Life for all humanity."  In a wise human society all business decisions should live up to two basic criteria be.

1.       Will it be good for the Children of Earth in any foreseeable future?

2.       Will it be profitable and good for the company in any foreseeable future?

In adding the first criteria to business decisions and practices we force businesses to take into account the impact their decisions and practices will have on future generations of human children, and thereby insure that such things as environment control and waste disposal are paramount concerns.  Moreover, by putting the good of Earth's children first, even before maximizing profits, we eliminate such things as the exportation of jobs which, while maximizing profits, does not bode well for the economic well being of future generations of children where the jobs are lost.

I would wish that on the wall in every board room in the world, just above the Chairperson's chair there be written in large gold letters "Is it good for Earth's Children?" so that every board member would constantly be reminded of the tremendous responsibility they bear in making decisions for the company.

I would also recommend that this also be written on all the walls, all around every business meeting room and presentation hall in the world the same admonishment "Is it good for Earth's Children?"so that every meeting attendee would constantly be reminded of this tremendous responsibility they bear in making decisions for the company

I believe this will happen some day when all children reach maturity knowing the True Purpose of Life and are capable giving and receiving unconditional love; and have attained and live by the virtues of honesty, honor, purpose, persistence, diligence, dedication, self sufficiency, self confidence and self control.

Government In Human Societies

The role of government in human societies is not, as it is usually taken to be, to rule over society.  The actual role of government is to provide a safe and secure environment (forum if you will) for the intercourse and commerce between humans in the society.  This fact is not well known or even acknowledged as a fact anywhere in the world.  It certainly has not been considered the actual role of government in past human societies.  Rather the role of government has been considered the control of the population, sometimes tightfisted iron control of every member of society's actions and to the greatest extent possible individual thoughts.  Some societies go so far as to decree what people should wear, what people should eat and how they should prepare it, even what goes on in the privacy of one's bedroom with one's spouse.  Imagine Laws telling people how they can and cannot fornicate in private?

Governments should never pass laws dictating how citizens should act, rather the only just and wise responsibility of government is to protect the people of society from the greed, bullying, sickness, madness and down right Evil of other members of society or from outside misconduct committed by foreign powers.  The proper role of government is to protect the weak from the strong while guaranteeing for every citizen or resident their birthrights i.e. the right to live their live in any manner they choose so long as their actions do not interfere with or infringe any other person's birthrights.  This responsibility also includes the government prevention of a tyrannical majority of the population taking advantage of or impinging on the rights of any minority population.

Before we go on, we must define the term "birthrights"...

Every human infant is born into the world totally helpless and dependent on other humans to sustain it through the formative years of its life.  It is the birthright of every human infant to receive with unconditional love, the care, nourishment and education that infant needs to survive into adulthood equipped with all the skills, talents and values he or she needs to fulfill The Purpose of Life.

Every human adult, from early adulthood through maturity has the following birthrights

1.    The right to vote for government officials in regular elections and special elections regardless of income, living standard, color, race, ethnicity or social standing.
2.     The right to a decent job with sufficient payment to provide them a living condition which is and can be sustained above the society's defined poverty line.
3.    The right to any medical care needed and available in the event of illness or accident regardless of their financial ability to pay.  Nor should any such medical treatment cost the individual to the point where their living standard is appreciably reduced.
4.    The right to higher education to the extent of their individual abilities, efforts and desires.
5.    The right to keep the fruits of their labor unto themselves and their families.
6.    The right to privacy, protection and the sanctity of their home so long as the conduct in the home does not infringe on any other member of society.
7.    The right to protect themselves, their families, their possessions and the sanctity of their home with and by any means necessary.
8.    The right to petition government and be compensated for wrongs committed against them.  This includes the right to sue all wrong or perceived wrong doers, including the government.
9.    The right to amass wealth to the limits of their capability, energy and ambitions, so long as that accumulation of wealth does not deprive any other member of society of any of their birthrights.  (This is one the biggest problems with today's American society.  The very wealthiest 5% of the population hoards or otherwise does not invest a sufficient amount of their wealth in job producing enterprises to the point where every citizen can maintain a life style above the poverty line.)

These birthrights are derived from and based on the Laws of Nature (as I understand them) and the Purpose of Life which is logically derived from the Laws of Nature.  This is the highest Authority which should and I believe will eventually be accepted by the majority of humans and human governments as the only Authority for all human laws.  I also believe this Authority should be written into the Constitution of the United States of America by amending the existing Constitution.

A just and good government of society has the responsibility to...

1.    Provide for military defense against all foreign attempts to infringe or eliminate any of the citizen's or resident's rights.
2.    A police force and criminal justice system to monitor and control the daily intercourse and flow of commerce and transportation; and to prevent, judge and punish criminal activity in society.
3.    To protect the society's borders from illegal immigration and smuggling of contraband materials into the society.
4.    To provide a public school system to insure the uniformity of children's education so that no child is left out or deprived of the best education possible.  The best education possible is defined as one that teaches the students how to be parents as the priority of the public educational system.
5.    To insure that the goods and/or produce sold in the society's forum of commerce are both safe and effective; and to insure the financial sections of society and the very wealthy in society do not take unfair advantage of the rest of the population, as they have been doing since the beginning of finance and wealth in human societies.
6.    To negotiate with and make treaties with foreign nations which are in the best interest of society.
7.    To impose taxes on the citizens, residents and business sufficient but not more than needed to fulfill the proper roles of government as listed above.
8.    When necessary, and only when absolutely necessary a proper government may raise additional capital by borrowing.  Such borrowing should include clauses where by the debt incurred is repaid by the generations of humans alive in the society at the time of the incurrence of the debt.

I believe that only a government which is limited by the above presented standards can ever hope to guide its citizens and residents in the proper pursuit of the Purpose of Life; and that further, the proper pursuit of the Purpose of Life should be the primary effort of all humans and human government.

Crime In Human Societies

It is possible for human societies to virtually eliminate Crime.  I say"virtually eliminate"because it is probably impossible to eliminate all crime in any human society.  Human Societies can never be perfect because humans will never all be perfect.  What I am talking about is the reduction in the prison population from the present 2 million inmates we now support in hundreds of prisons all across the country at a cost of over $60 billion a year to something less than 10,000 inmates housed in no more than four or five prisons at a cost of considerably less than $1 billion per year. The US would then have more than an additional $59 billion per year free to spend on children's education.  I am also talking about reducing the cost of criminal activities in this country which now amounts to over $675 billion annually to perhaps a only a few billion dollars.  I am also talking about removing the pain and suffering  heaped on so many in so many ways as the result of criminal activity.  Do you not think this is a worthwhile goal for all Americans to strive for, particularly if America could do it without any large upheaval to society; for an insignificant cost and with only minor inconveniences occurring to a small number of people?

According to my research on the crime was relatively rare in primitive tribal or clan societies that existed before the agriculture revolution and the advent of cities and towns.  The reason for this is that there was very little accumulation of any kind of wealth to speak of.  Tribal societies were almost by definition "poor"societies where, out of survival interest what little was accumulated, was shared by all.

With the coming of cities and towns, the subsequent greatly expanded division of labor and layering of society, the accumulated wealth of the society was not shared equally by all.  The higher the status of an individual in society, the more likely they were to accumulate a greater share of the wealth.  Unequal distribution of wealth naturally leads to unequal distribution of resources and extreme differences in the standards of living between individuals.  This naturally leads to envy and where the primary basis of Laws is "power and force"as it was in early civilized societies, the stronger naturally take from the weaker.  The natural human concept of "justice"which ruled supreme in tribal societies is lost.  So it has remained to this day.  Human societies still don't know what to do about or how to solve the problem of crime.

There are four types of crime in modern human societies

1.    Crimes of passion are crimes humans commit against their families and their neighbors.  They happen because individuals loose control and violently lash out at anybody within reach.

2.    Crimes of insanity are crimes insane individuals commit because in their delusion they somehow believe their acts are right.  Serial killers fall into this category. Child abuse, murder, rape and aggravated assault fall into this category also because only sick people commit these crimes.

3.    Crimes of omission or neglect are crimes individuals make by mistake, usually unintentionally but often intentionally such as the crime of driving under the influence of mind altering drugs, especially alcohol.

4.    Crimes for profit are crimes individuals commit for the purpose of enriching themselves at the expense of others.  These are the most numerous types of crimes and include such things as robbery, burglary, fraud, extortion, bribery, drug dealing, smuggling, tax evasion and political corruption.

Psychologist's who study the roots of crime are in substantial agreement that the seeds of most criminal behavior are sown during the first five years of the criminal's life.  If this is so, then the proper education of our children in the art of parenting will go far toward reducing the amount of crime in society although this will require many generations of children to accomplish.  Crime will be reduced in any human society proportionally to the success that society has in teaching its children to be capable of giving and receiving unconditional love; and in attainment the virtues of honesty, honor, purpose, persistence, diligence, dedication, self sufficiency, self confidence and self control. These are the virtues a parent must have in order to be a good parent and pass them on to their children.  Considering the lack of success existing human societies have in instilling these virtues in their children, and the fact that this has been the desired goal of most human societies since the beginning, it would appear that human societies need to make some dramatic changes in the way we educate our children if we are to achieve the reduction in crime I suggest is possible.

The forth category of crime, crimes for profit, the types of crimes that are most rampant in human societies can however be rendered virtually impossible, or at least much, much more difficult in societies such as the US and other advanced societies with a single, simple, virtually painless step.  That step is to simply remove the profit from crime, and to make it extremely difficult for anyone to realize any gain from any criminal activity.  Simply remove "cash" from society!  This could be accomplished almost overnight by congress passing and the president signing a law which eliminated paper money and coins larger than $1.  The law would require that every person and company in the country turn their cash into their bank and have the money available only on their "debit card", "electronic transactions" or through checks.  Transactions in cash would be made unlawful and criminal.

If you are aghast and horrified at this idea, please let me suggest that you are aghast and horrified because you have never really considered the possibility and the benefits of such a law.  Please withhold your judgment and follow along with me as I describe why and how such a system would work

1.    Why it will work!  The ultimate goal of any crime for profit is the attainment of "untraceable"and "able to be spent" assets such as paper money.  If something is not able to be spent or cannot be converted into something able to be spent, no sane person is going to steal it.  Paper money has no identity marks pointing to the person who owns it; therefore it is virtually impossible to trace the real ownership of any individual piece of paper money.  Debit cards however do require that a record be made of each and every transaction.  If it is not possible to convert a debit card transaction into cash money but only possible to transfer it into another debit account then every financial transaction anywhere in the country leaves a record at the bank identifying who the source of the transaction was and who the recipient of the transaction was.  No sane person is going to steal something which by its very existence points to them as the thief.  No drug dealer is going to stand on the street corner and make debit or credit card transactions for his drugs if he knows that each such transaction will point to him as a drug dealer.  No sane politician or public official is ever going to even consider taking a bribe if they know a record of the bribe will be kept at both their bank and the briber's bank as direct evidence of the bribe.

2.    How it will work!  Although the simple act of just requiring all financial transactions to be made via debit card, credit card or check would discourage most criminal activity, in order to insure that all illegal transactions were caught and punished, it would be necessary for the bank software to verify the source and destination of every transaction made anywhere in the country.  Any transaction which had either a questionable source or destination would be flagged and a copy of that transaction would be forwarded to a special branch of either the FBI or the Secret Service where the source and destination would be investigated.  In innocent cases such as one friend or relative loaning or giving someone some money, or some one coming into an inheritance or winning the lottery, a few simple telephone calls would clear up the matter.  In the case of criminal activity the crime, the criminal and the victim would be identified with the bank records being uncontestable evidence, and thereby making prosecution much easier.

3.    It is already working!  A majority of all financial transactions in this country and in the western world are already carried out by debit cards, credit cards, checks and electronic wire transfers.  If they did not work and/or were not as absolutely secure as is humanly possible, the financial system we now have would not and could not exist.  The wealthiest people in this country do not have much use for cash.  And indeed a majority of the middle class in this country rely more on debit cards, credit cards and checks more than they do on cash.   It is only the poorest segment of society which relies on cash primarily because they do not have access to banks and the recourses they provided to the rich.  Honest poor people would welcome the elimination of cash from society because it would make their lives easier and far, far more secure.

4.    A Boon for Business!  Businesses, especially small businesses which form the backbone of the US economy, would greatly benefit from the elimination of cash from society.  Most businesses in this country and in the rest of the world, even many developing nations already have the necessary equipment and electronic networking required for the cashless system.  It would reduce the cost of accounting and security for business by a significant factor, and it would virtually eliminate large scale pilfering and stealing from inventories.  Of course, there would still remain the occasional pilfering where an employee steals something for their own use and shoplifting for personal use would continue, but the cost of such activity is small compared to what the overall reduction in business expenses that would be brought about by the elimination of cash.  I would even go so far as to suggest that small businesses would save enough through the elimination of cash to recover a significant portion of the taxes they now pay for doing business.

5.    What about privacy?  The most serious objection most people will have to this proposal is that their privacy would be compromised.  In the first place, personal privacy in this country is already compromised to a far, far greater extent now than people are aware of. It is compromised to the point that most of what most people consider private is available on the Internet to just about anyone who has even the minimum computer skills.  If society was really concerned to any great extent it would force the government to do something about the personal data now available on the Internet.  Secondly, the proposal system need never make anyone's personal financial data available to anyone or any institution not specifically authorized by law.  The banks already have the total financial data on many millions of Americans and this is not considered an invasion of privacy.  The special branch of the government authorized would also only have access to the most trivial date (i.e. that a transaction occurred of a specific amount between two entities) without a court warrant; the fact being that this is already the case.  The government has always had and will always have access to any private data it cares to access by means of a court issued warrant.

6.    .The tremendous benefits that would occur to society!  The only part of society which benefits to any extent from the availability of untraceable cash is the underclass of criminals in this society. The elimination of untraceable, and therefore able to be spent cash may, (although in the long run I doubt it), be inconvenient for a very few individuals, but the savings of the hundreds of billions of dollars which crime now cost society annually, along with the elimination of the all of the pain and suffering caused to so many victims of crime, so far, far outweighs any inconvenience to any one that it is unthinkable that we not do it.  Much, much moreover, the people who would benefit the most from such a law are the people who now suffer the most, namely the poorest people in the country.

7.    Secure Debit Cards and Credit Cards!  The elimination of cash from society would necessitate the improvement of the security measures built into debit and credit card.  It would require each such card contain a picture of the authorized individual along with some personal means of identifying and matching the card to the presenter.  A simple fingerprint or iris scanner at each pay terminal would suffice and not be overly objectionable or intrusive.  The cost of adding the required equipment and software to existing equipment would be triflingly minuscule; and compared to the over all cost savings, lost in the noise.

In conclusion, if there is any serious objection or possible loss to human society caused by the elimination of cash, I cannot see it.

Wise Human Prisons

Prisons have since the beginning been the most used way to punish criminals.  It has always been assumed, and is to this day assumed that taking a persons freedom away from them for some set period of time was going to dissuade the individual from repeat criminal offences against society.  As it turns out this is not, nor has it ever been a determent against crime, just as religious and the religious doctrines haven't been very effective in building a more moral society.  HOW ABOUT THAT?  Surprise, Surprise!  Today, in this country, rather than being a determent to crime, US prisons are training schools for deviant and criminal activity where gangs, drug use, criminal activity and homosexual sex is the rule rather than the exception.

I would like to propose another solution to criminal deterrent.  I would like to propose that prisons be organized and run along the lines of the United States Marine Corps boot camp, where the US Marines take raw, undisciplined, disgusting civilians and in a few short weeks, turns them into Proud, Disciplined and Honorable United States Marines, people who any parent is proud to point to and call son or daughter.

The Marine Corps accomplishes this by first removing every single trace of the boot's previous civilian life it can humanely remove, and then training the remaining sniveling, quaking cores of humanity; through total confinement to the rigors of 18 hour training days, six days a week.  Through this total confinement and training the Marine Corps turns undisciplined civilians into members of the proudest, most accomplished, most honorable fighting force the world has ever known. There are no gangs, drug use, criminal activity and homosexual sex in Marine Corps Boot Camp, nor is there any escape from the humane brutality of the 18 hour rigors of daily training except by death or expulsion.  The boots are sequestered in platoons of about 75 boots each and have very little contact with anyone other than other platoon members, mess attendants, medical staff and the Drill Instructors.  The boots see very few members of the opposite sex and would no more consider touching a member of the opposite sex than they would consider cutting off their own nose.  In a few short weeks Marine boots go through such a radical improvement in their personal habits and attitudes that they are totally different people from the people they entered boot camp as.  The training is TOUGH to the extreme but surprisingly humane considering the transformation accomplished in their personalities.

One of the harshest and most effective punishments administered to Marine Corps boots is "group punishment"where the entire platoon is punished by extra physical training for the infraction of one member of the platoon.  Boy does the rest of the platoon get that misbehaving member squared away and straightened up in a hurry.

Another discipline method is the transfer of habitually misbehaving boots to "discipline platoons"where the training rigors make the regular platoon training seem like a picnic.  The discipline platoons are greatly feared and mightily avoided by all boots.

The Marine Corps boot camp experience lasts and stays with every Marine through out their remaining life.  If you ask any Marine they will tell you the experience is beyond human valuation, and they will also tell you they would not go through it again for all the tea in China.  Marines never leave the Corps, at the end of their tours Marines simply transfer from active to inactive status.  And if this country were threatened in some dire way, most inactive Marines, if not all, would be among the first to volunteer to put their lives on the line in service of this country. Once a Marine, always a Marine.

Prisons fashioned along the lines of Marine Corps boot camp would be relatively inexpensive to build and maintain.  They could be staffed by a special branch of the Marine Corps with guards recruited from among the best Drill Instructors the Marine Corps produces; with special training and pay incentives for volunteers.  It would require only three or four guards for every 75 prisoners along with medical and administrative staff..  Training would be vocational and occupational rather than military training.  Each prison would include a large farm where prisoners would be required to work 6 months out of each year and the produce grown (along with any other products produced by the inmates during the course or as a result of their training) would go toward both support and feeding of the inmates and sale of the produce and products on the open market to partially support the cost of the prisons.  I believe prisoners, after 6 months under such a regiment would make good volunteers for such worthwhile services such as forest fire fighting and natural disaster relief.  Such efforts would not only benefit society (Heaven only knows what kind of forest fires await us if Global Warming continues) but would provide valuable training to the inmates.

Prison sentences would be "indefinite" regardless of the crime and prisoners would be released only when it was deemed by some set standard that they were rehabilitated and fit for open society.  Inmates who were deemed by some set standard, after some set period of confinement, to not be able to be rehabilitated, would either be transferred to mental institutions, solitary confinement for life or executed.

I believe this is the kind of experience prison should be, the ex-prisoner would leave prison with the attitude that they wouldn't give up the experience for any amount of money, nor would they go through it again for any amount of money.  Such a prison experience would not only be a effective deterrent to crime, it would also go far in rehabilitating the criminal back into the main stream of society.  People with such experience would make excellent employees and would much more easily be accepted back into society rather than being outcast such as they are not.

With military pay being somewhat less than we now pay prison guards and with the income produced by the inmates, such prisons should be considerably cheaper; and at the same time far, far more effective than our present prison system is.

The expected 10,000 inmates after the elimination of most crime could be housed in a single camp with a staff of less than 500 people, at about the same cost as one large prison as it exists anywhere in this country today.  Such a camp could be built in the swamps of Camp Lejeune.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marine_Corps_Base_Camp_Lejeune)with the a major part of the active Marine Corps force at hand if trouble were to break out.

The Distribution Of Wealth In Human Societies

The distribution of wealth in the United States of America is one of the worst abominations in the history of human civilizations.  The fact that 5% of the wealthiest people in this country own and/or control 95% of the wealth this society has produced and accumulated is catastrophically detrimental to the functioning of society as a whole.  Moreover the system is set up such that the wealthiest will continue to acquire a greater percentage of the wealth as time goes on.  If the American society continues on its present path, in a relatively short time the wealthiest 1% will own and/or control over 99% of the wealth while the rest of us barely get by on what is left over.  In effect the poorest 99% will be economic slaves for the richest 1%, beholden to them for the crumbs of charity they occasionally bestow upon us.

If the wealth were distributed, not even close to equally as it was in tribal societies, but more on the order of 75% for the richest and 25 % for the rest then there would be no poverty in the United States of America.  There is plenty enough wealth and resources to provide every citizen in this country a dignified, livable wage such that they are able to raise their children in relative comfort, health and safety; and to educate their children so that ever the poorest have the opportunity to achieve, through education, their full potential as contributing members of the society.

It is not that the accumulation of excess wealth is bad or wrong; rather the accumulation of excessive wealth is absolutely necessary for a society to function and grow.  Only excess wealth in available to society for investment in wealth building ventures such as business development and expansion; and the research required to develop the new products necessary for a society to function and grow.  Without excess wealth being accumulated by some smaller percentage of the population for reinvestment, society as a whole simply cannot function and grow.

But the natural tendency of the rich to get richer at the expense of the poorer segments of society in an unregulated capitalistic society is just as bad, in the long run, as no accumulation of wealth at all.  While it is right and proper that the most capable and hardest working people in society receive the lion's share of the wealth produced by a society, there is a limit on how big that share should or can be.  I would suggest that we have reached and surpassed that limit as demonstrated by the 2008/9 meltdown of not only the US's economy, but the world's economy.

I believe there is general consensus among leading economists that there must be not only much greater regulation of financial institutions both here and abroad, there must also be implemented some kind of graduated "wealth tax"in order to at least pay off the crushing national debt we are in the process of creating with the intention that it be left for future generations to pay off.  How can we as a responsible society even consider leaving such an impossible burden on our children?

The Unwise National Debt

This chapter will probably be one of the more controversial chapters in the book because I propose more specific ways to accomplish the task than in any other chapter.  The simple fact is that I am not smart enough to know how the elimination of the US National Debt could best be accomplished.  I have included this chapter because I believe this task is one of the most important challenges facing the US population and needs to be part of the agenda of the Fifth Revolution in fulfilling the promise of the new Purpose of Life.

The current US national debt is over $10 trillion and is expected to grow an additional $2 to $3 trillion through the ongoing attempt to reverse the financial disaster the country now faces.  How can we as a responsible society even consider leaving such an impossible burden on our children?  If we cannot pay off this debt, what gives us any sense our children and their children will be better able to pay it off!  Can we not see that eventually this debt will grow into unmanageable proportions unless it is paid off before the society we know collapses into utter chaos?  Is that going to be our legacy to our children and to future generations?  How can we have any hope for our children's and their children's future if we saddle them with this unimaginable burden of debt?

I certainly do not know the details of how this debt could be paid off by the present generation; I would propose two things though

1.    In fulfilling the Purpose of Life it is the present generations (the average age in America is 40) of Americans'responsibility to pay off this debt.  Prior to 1961 the national debt had remained under $1 trillion, the massive increase to over $10 trillion has been amassed during the succeeding 40 years.  So the present generations of Americans are responsible for this increase by the fact that they elected the people who did the borrowing on America's behalf.  It is interesting to note that overwhelming majority of this debt has accumulated during years when Republicans controlled both the White House and the Senate and that the largest part of that occurred under President Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush while both of the houses of congress were under Republican control.

2.    The total wealth in the United States is estimated to be approximately $56.5 trillion, 90 percent of which is owned by the government and the wealthiest 5% of the population.  The wealthiest 5% of the population could therefore pay off the national debt and still be far wealthier than the other 95 % of us.  The top 5% of the population using one fifth of their wealth could eliminate the national debt if forced by law to do so.  This is probably not an unreasonable proposition because it is this wealthiest 5% of the population which has benefited the most from the borrowing the US government has done in the past 40 years and would leave them still far, far richer than the other 95% of us.  I am not going to hold my breath waiting for this to happen though.

3.    As of February 17, 2009 this debt amounts to $35,244.56 for each citizen of the country.    I propose that the law to eliminate the national debt be a debt taxspecifically to be used by the US government to pay down the principal of the national debt and for nothing else; and that a 1 % tax be levied on all personal grossincomes and grossbusiness profit incomes without any deductions of any kind.  Further, the constitution of the United States of America should be amended to forbid the US Government from ever passing an unbalance budget unless such deficit budgets include a sacrificeprovision by which the generation of Americans alive at the time of the deficit budget would pay off any such debt incurred by the government within their life times.

In light of the fact that the great majority of this debt has been accumulated during the past 40 years, during the life time most living Americans (the average age in the US is 40) and that those younger than age 40 will benefit the most from this proposal, I do not think this proposal is unreasonable or would present any great difficulty for any living person in the US.  As a matter of fact I think it would be the wisest thing this country has ever done as a nation.

This pay down of the national debt could be accomplished by the present generations of Americans with a reasonable sacrifice as suggested above.  But this could only be accomplished if the leadership we elect and sent to Washington were wise enough in the first place to realize the importance of paying off the national debt to the future of this country; and then were wise enough to convince the rest of us that it was an absolutely necessary sacrifice demanded by future generations, especially in light of the Purpose of Life describe in this book.  As just recently demonstrated by a significant portion of the US population in electing Barrack Obama to be President of the United States of America, I believe the people of America can force such wisdom onto the leadership in Washington, DC through a movement such a was demonstrated by that election.  If the American people really want change in the way Washington does things, this would be a very good place to start.  We all know that getting out of our present grave economic difficulties is going to require sacrifice.  Could any sacrifice required of Americans product such significant results as the relatively small sacrifice of one percent of our national income being used for less that 40 years to pay off the national debt.  This is a time frame most Americans would live to see accomplished.  Can you imagine the celebration that would take place on the day it was accomplished?  Would any sacrifice we could be asked to make produce anywhere near the benefits at such a low cost to American society as the elimination the national debt would insure?

The End Of Poverty, Hunger And Disease In Human Societies

If the human species is to fulfill "The Purpose of Life" then it is necessary that every human born on the face of the Earth must have the resources and education necessary to achieve their fullest potential as humans.  This means that every family must have an income sufficient to achieve a dignified and decent standard of living.  At the present this is not the case.  Even in the United States of America, the most powerful and successful human society in human history, approximately 15% of the population has an income which puts them below the poverty line as defined by the US government.  This is a disgraceful fact of American life.  According to my research on the Internet at least 80% of the world's population lives on an income of $10 a day or less.  This places 80% of the world's population below the poverty line.

At the same time the distribution of wealth across the world's population is becoming increasingly more inequitable in that the richer are becoming richer while the poorer are becoming poorer.  The plain and simple fact is that there is more than enough wealth and resources on planet Earth than is necessary to bring the disadvantaged 80% of the world's population above the poverty line and to allow them the dignified and decent standard of living which is the birthright of all humans.

This can only be accomplished when and if all humans and all human governments accept the Purpose of Life as I have suggested; and in concert, actively pursue a course of action which leads to a better distribution of wealth and resources available on Planet Earth.  Hunger will decrease across the planet proportionately to the success of humans and human governments in pursuing the appropriate courses of action.

As modern farming technology spreads around the world, the supply of food available to humans will increase dramatically, lowering the cost of basic necessities and thereby contribute greatly to the standard of living for the poorest 80% of the worlds population.

As the standard of living around the world increases the birthrate among the poorest 80% of the world's population will decrease; eventually leading to stabilization of the world's total population at something less than 10 billion humans.  This will allow more precise predictions and planning of the world's food production in a way that will eliminate hunger forever on the face of Planet Earth.

Diseases will eventually be all but eliminated through several means

1.    As the standard of living increases around the world, the overall health of the world population will improve dramatically due to better nutrition, better health habits, the access to medical treatment and cleaner environments.

2.    Advances in medical technology will provide vaccines against all of the major diseases which now account for the majority of ill health and human death in world societies.

3.    The elimination of genetic diseases, a major cause of illness and suffering today will be eliminated through the practice of selective breeding.  It will become common practice for all humans to have their DNA screened for defective genes which lead to genetic diseases, and when individuals find they carry such defective genes they will simply choose to not reproduce and pass those defective genes on to succeeding generations.  The fulfillment of the Purpose of Life does not require that individuals reproduce but that they support and contribute to the proper upbringing and education of all human children.  As a matter of fact the reproduction and passing on of defective genes is, in the final analysis, detrimental to the fulfillment of the Purpose of Life and therefore morally wrong.

It is should be obvious to anyone reading this little book that the fulfillment of the Purpose of Life as defined in this book will eventually lead to the end of poverty, hunger and disease in human societies.  Is this not reason enough for all humans to accept and pursue this Purpose?  Is there any higher calling to which any human or human society could aspire?  Is this not and has this not been the stated ambition of almost all human societies since before the dawn of human civilization?

The End Of Global Warming And War

The governments and peoples of all nations on Planet Earth are now facing the first dire, truly global catastrophe in human history.  The average temperature of the planet is rising at an alarming rate; and this warming, if not stopped and reversed, foretells of dramatic changes in the planet's climate.  It is quite possibly these changes in the climate could lead to the end of human civilization as we know it; and perhaps to the end of human and all other life on the planet.  The most learned scientist predict that if the global warming persist to its ultimate end, this planet will be nothing but a giant snow ball, covered to a depth of several miles by ice and snow, or perhaps a planet like Venus, covered with an atmosphere of metal melting hot acid or at best become as desolate and lifeless a planet as Mars now is.  The bitter end lays several hundred, or maybe several thousand years in the future, but unless we stop and reverse the trend, humans will eventually become more extinct than the dinosaurs, for there will never be another life form to discover our remains and wonder with astonishment about us as we wonder about the dinosaurs.  It will be just as if we never existed and all the pain and suffering, and all the joy and accomplishment of all the humans who ever existed will have been for naught!

In order to solve this catastrophic global problem all the nations of the world must come together and work diligently toward a common goal of ending the pollution of this planet's atmosphere.  Never before has a problem of this magnitude faced Earth's population. There is no possibility of any of Earth's nations avoiding the problem for very much longer.  Unless something is done by all nations working together in concert the problem simply cannot be solved.  Most of the major population centers on the planet, without any help from any of their neighbors, have the capacity to prolong the global warming trend until it is too late to reverse it; just as the United States, by it self, is responsible for a significant portion of the waste that has been dumped into the atmosphere to this point.  Nor does any nation have the capability to either do it by itself or to force all other nations to help.  The problem must and can only be solved by all nations on Earth working together in harmony toward this single goal.

This working together toward a single goal has never before in human history been required by all nations, and need we say, it has never before been attempted nor even contemplated by a majority of nations, let alone all nations.

This is the BIG TEST for humanity, we both pass the test and survive as a species or we fail and future generations of humans carry the burdens we can prevent but choose instead to increase by causing them to carry our share of the load too!

I have no doubt that humanity will pass this test, perhaps without flying colors but at the very least with a D-.  There will certainly be many questions we get wrong on out first attempt but the attempt in itself is probably enough to get a passing grade,  The human race is an ingenious species and has accomplished much in its short span on this planet.  More over we already know what needs to be done.  We need only couple that knowledge with the will, courage, effort and money that the task will require and do it.  We can and must succeed because otherwise the human species is nothing but a short, insignificant hiccup in the history of the Universe.

During the process I am confidant the Earth's national governments will recognize the tremendous advantage working together in concert with all other nations will provide for their nation's people.  This recognition cannot but lead to further cooperation, on a global scale, in the solution of mankind's other long standing and supposedly insolvable problems such as the World Economy, Poverty, and War.  For these problems can only be solved by global cooperation among all the nations of Earth just as solving global warming requires all nations to work together toward a common goal.

It is not my faith in the goodness of humanity that leads me to this conclusion, but rather my faith in humanity's selfish self interest which cannot help but lead to the realization that the selfish self interest of all nations and all people every where is best served by global cooperation between all nations and peoples toward the solution of all of humanity's most pressing and most common problems.  As each of these intractable problems falls to the concerted efforts of all nations, all nations will become more and more comfortable with the idea and with the approach of working together with other nations in common effort.

Moreover as each of the intractable global problems yields to the concerted efforts of all nations, the benefits which accrue to all nations will become so over whelming that going back to the ways of War so common in human history will become unthinkable.  As poverty shrinks into oblivion, the world economy will explode in a fruitful and controlled fashion, just as cultivated hybrid grain produces unimaginably much more grain than its ancient wild cousins.  The human population of planet Earth will embrace the ways of wisdom and forever relic to history the barbaric nature of past relationships of nation with nation.  The Fifth Revolution will unfold and the Age of Wisdom will be upon all of humanity.
