I am currently working on the website http://www.sdsucru.com for South Dakota State University's Campus Crusade organization.

On the very first page (index page) I'd love if the site could come up as the exact dimensions of the blue background graphic, no larger than 900x600 pixels. I realize that if anyone has a screen resolution larger than that, the site comes up with a lot of white excess to the right and below the original background graphic. Is there any way that I can chose what size browser window it opens up in? The only page on this site that I need to do that is the index. I'm using Frontpage 2003. Thanks for your help!!

I believe the answer you're looking for is here:
http://htmlhelp.com/faq/html/links.html#window-specify

But I have to say a few things:
  • When I visit the site I think it looks very nice already.
  • If your site were to resize my browser's window I would assume it's trying to do something evil like all the SPAM sites that do that, so I would close the window and never come back.
  • If someone types in the URL directly they are ALWAYS going to see the page in the full window size and there is nothing you can do about that.
So, the bottom line is that my strong recommendation would be to leave the site just the way it is.

Take care,

John
