Collapsing sections, My heads about to explode... Options

Before my head explodes I thought I should heed some sensible advice from you guys that have helped me so much in the past.

If you visit my forum here: http://www.sev3rance.com/ipb/ You will see you can collapse the category by clicking the little arrow.

Basically I want that on my front page, so the latest news is expanded and the old collapsed. The problem is though that using this tool here: http://www.onlinetools.org/tools/domcollapse/ I have attempted it but it doesn't hide it, as you can see in the link below (collapsing link) it collapses it BUT leaves the font there on top of the other news and make the title move down and into two lines.

The current one you can use as reference to see what it's supposed to be like. Play with the bottom one on "wtf.html", you can see exactly what it's doing wrong.

Any idea why it's so amazingly screwed up? It's driving me batty lol
