I have NO idea of coding at all. However, we as teachers are required to post our teaching material on a web portal. Once I type just as I type on a word document it gets coded to HTML and appears as a web page. The problem i have is that when printed - there are so much blank areas in the printout. (These spaces are not visible when I view the web page). How can I get rid of these blank spaces and get all that I type to flow one after the other?

You have to show us one of those HTML documents or we can't possibly know. Have a link?

If you use Word to convert the text to HTML the problem probably lies there though. Its output is horrific.

I can send you the html page . but can i copy and past it here or is there any other way.? no way of sending a link as you will need university rights to access that page. sorry

Yeah, pasting is fine. If you have external CSS, paste that too.

As the shape of the curve gets more and more irregular/awkward extra ordinates are measured within the irregular areas (for example in the fwd &amp; aft end sections where a ships water-plane and underwater both change shapes compared to the section of the main bod). In such cases, we will introduce ordinates at half intervals of the main body (therefore known as <strong><em>intermediate ordinates</em></strong>) and follow the standard calculation process. </span></p>

Maybe there's a size limit to the posts, I don't know. But I think I've got enough.

The HTML refers to external files, CSS and JS. Those are supposed to be online, but the domain doesn't seem to be active. For instance the CSS should be here https://health.edu.au/templates/v3-at/custo...ric/main-v3.css . Do you also see an unstyled document?

Can you give an example of where you see an unwanted space? The top of the page looks like this for me.

Look at picture 1. This is the space that we have to work. It is known as MyLo or Desire 2 Learn. The template can be created using the tools on to the right. Then we start filling in the contents. What I usually do is, copy my notes from an already done word file and paste it here. The HTML code of the work done can be seen when I click the HTML Code signs </> on the page that we work. That's what I copied and pasted for you.
When completed, I click "UPDATE".

Now look at picture 2.
This is what I see when I try to print the contents. Can you see a big gap between sections?

sorry for the late reply. Much appreciate your time. Would have been easy if I gave you my login for you to see your self. But then I would be violating rules :-)

Sorry, I didn't notice it happens only when printing. Maybe there are printing instructions in the CSS. It doesn't happen with the plain HTML you pasted.

Cascading Style Sheets. It's what makes HTML look pretty. Adds fonts, colors, margins and so on. You could have specific style instructions for printing in the style sheet. I don't know if this is the case, but as I don't see the gaps in the print preview with what you gave us...

As said, the HTML refers to this style sheet: https://health.edu.au/templates/v3-at/custo...ric/main-v3.css . But it doesn't exist. wacko.gif

OK. Changed the links to the CSS and the scripts. Still don't get gaps in print preview.

Do you get the gaps also in the section of the page you posted the markup for? What browser do you use?

Greatly appreciate your help Pandy.
I checked the printing of the pages on chrome, IE and through my Ipad.
In fact, the prints from the iPad worked perfectly with no gaps. But it was the same result using the other two browser pages. Can you see the white space in pages 2, 3, 4

The file is in the next post. Had to delete some pages as the file size was larger than allowed.

I can not. This is the print preview from Iron, which should be the same as Chrome. Looks the same in FF and Edge.

Yours doesn’t seem to have that issue ...
I tried on different PCs in the University and all appeared with blank spaces. Don’t know why and how to correct that.
