Hi, I'm very new to webdesign and somewhat foolishly decided to build a site from scratch using just html, and as far as I'm aware, an older style of html at that.
My site is here: http://www.lillianwilkie.co.uk I'm currently working on a page which will be used to present a commissioned series of images to a client. The rough first page is here (actual images not currently uploaded): http://www.lillianwilkie.co.uk/joneslanglasalle/1.html so 'joneslanglasalle' is the name of the folder and '1.html' the name of the first page My wish is to be able to give the client the URL 'www.lillianwilkie.co.uk/joneslanglasalle' and have this page come up. I have a similar issue in other parts of my site, for instance the CV page's url is 'http://www.lillianwilkie.co.uk/cv/cv.html' when I'd really like it to just be 'www.lillianwilkie.co.uk/cv' Is there an easy(ish) way to do this with code or is the way I have built the site going to make it problematic? Any advice appreciated! |

You could rename the file index.html or default.html or whatever the filename is that your server is configured to look for in directories. You seem to be using Apache, so my first guess would be index.html
