I am creating a website in MS Publisher and have internal and external links that I want to open in a new window, rather than taking the user directly to that page. How can I do this?
This is an external page, that I need to open in a new window, just a tad bit smaller then my page, so the user stays can just close the window and go back to my page: <A href="http://quickbooks.intuit.com/?priorityCode=3969702399&kbid=3545&img=7636-f1_qbg_133x75_05_wg.jpg&sub="> <img src="http://quickbooks.intuit.com/qbcom/images/affiliates/7636-f1_qbg_133x75_05_wg.jpg" border=0></a> The internal links are created as a “Hyperlink” / in the “Link to” column, I selected “Place in this document” / in the “Select a place in this document”, I selected the page I want to link to point to. But, it doesn’t open it in a new window, it takes the user to that page. Is there another way I’m suppose to do this? |

No idea, but here's how to do it in HTML.
http://htmlhelp.com/faq/html/links.html#new-window With a little help from JavaScript. http://htmlhelp.com/faq/html/links.html#window-specify Opening new windows isn't all that cool. If the other site opens in the same window, your visitors can just use the backbutton to go back, no? Above all, you leave the choice to them. They can open a new window if they want to. If you force it, they have no choice. Also, Publisher's HTML isn't exactly pretty. |
