Problems I must not know how to solve.
Often when I save my index to .html or index to .txt, I end up with, ".html.txt" or ".txt.html" even or even ". jpg.jpg" .
In the past I did everything via notepad that saved to .txt . Then all I had to do was change the file extension from .txt to .html and the .txt became .htm or .html , not remain text.

Whats going on? Its very difficult to make changes in ones HTML now. I'm at a loss. I try to see what the HTML looks like and it remains text with a .html extension.
What happens if you do not put a file extension on your html project?= You do not know what will end up as the file extension.

What program do you use? For me, if I for instance type filname.html and in the next field in the save dialogue (Save as type) don't choose "All files" as I should, but instead for instance "Text documents (*.txt)" the document is still saved as with the single html extension.

But maybe it doesn't work that way on all versions of Windows. So my guess would be that you type the extension but do not choose "All files" for the "Save as type" field.

Try that. Or don't write the extension but choose it in the Save as type field instead.

Are WinXP and Win7 set to show extensions? I would make sure extensions are shown and then manually remove the old extension when you 'SaveAs'.
