Visual Slideshow Help in IE, Question about slideshows in IE Options

I'm somewhat of a newbie when it comes to web design, but I'm learning fairly quick. I have been working on a new site for a friend of mine who is a real estate broker. He wanted a slideshow of "Featured Listings" showing each house one by one with a little info below each house and the ability to click on the picture to bring the viewer to the listing at MLS. I made it on a separate web page using a program called "Visual Slideshow" that uses Javascript instead of Flash - he didn't want me to use Flash. So I did everything exactly like they say to on their help page. The problem is that it works fine in Mozilla Firefox (but doesn't show the template for some reason), but it doesn't work at all in IE.

I've been trying to figure out what's wrong for a couple of weeks now, but can't, so if anyone can help me to fix this I would be very appreciative.

Does it really? So now I'm totally confused!

I tried opening it on a friends computer (who uses IE - not sure which version) and a picture of a home came up and froze on the screen, doing nothing else, so I assumed it was a problem with IE compatibility.

I've been trying to find what's wrong by looking at IE/Mozilla compatibility issues, but never tried it on my own version of IE (I don't have a copy, but I think I can find a free version?) I can't believe I've been messing with this so long and it ends up that it just might have been something wrong with his computer!

I'm going to try to download a copy of IE so I can test it my self (IE got deleted off my computer a few years ago).

Yeah, as far as I could see everything works. I viewed the pics of 3 or 4 houses and that clicked one and got taken to the listing. Hit the backbutton and the slide show continued.

And your computer still works? IE is probably still there, since it's an integrated part of Windows. Maybe you just deleted the shortcuts?

Oh, I didn't know it was that essential.
I've been using Mozilla for years, so before I got a bigger hard drive I was running out of space and I used "Add or Remove Programs" to get rid of IE because I never used it. I guess I could do a search on my computer for it.

I've never tried to do that, but I suspect it only hides IE a little. I could be wrong though and parts of it are removable. Do a disk search for iexplore.exe . Mine is in Program Files/Internet Explorer .

I don't know, there's some stuff there - a couple of exe.mui files & these:

C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$
C:\WINDOWS\ie8
C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386

Except these are only 91 kb each, and the mui files are only 12 kb each, so they can't be large enough, can they?

No iexplore.exe? Try installing it from Add/Remove Programs again and see what it does. I'm curious.
