I am putting together a new training site on HTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, PHP and Flash and would appreciate any constructive feedback that I could receive from your group.

I had run a Flash Training site for many years and was asked to branch out into more web development technologies, so late last year I took the plunge. I would really like some feedback on the video player and the page construction and ease of use. I have about 60 videos posted now and will be adding to it weekly. But first I would like some feedback on the site.

I have received some pretty good feedback from my current Flash users, but would like to expand that.

I am going through now and cleaning up areas that have not validated in the way that I think they should.

Let me know what you think, I would really appreciate the input.

Thank you,

Mike

I appreciate all the view but haven't received any feedback from the site. I have responded to a few questions though from the users.

I appreciate the people that have viewed the site, and if you get the opportunity let me know what you think about the layout.

Thanks everyone, have a good week.

Something in your layout forces horizontal scrolling unless I maximize my browser window. There doesn't seem to be any content hidden. When I scroll to the right, I just see blank space with no content. But the bottom scrollbar still appears in my normal browser window.

Thanks Darin, I will look into it and see what I can figure out.

Do you remember what browser you were using when you noticed it.

Firefox. But the same thing happens in Chrome with non-maximized browser windows.

I think that the horizontal scroll is caused by the UL list in the footer. There's no scrollbar at a window width larger than 1326px.

All you need in the UL is a width and margin, e.g.: margin: 15px auto 0; width: 660px;.
And get rid of position and right: 50%; on the LI elements.

Then, the UL will fit the footer, but there must be yet something else causing the horizontal scroll, as it doesn't seem to disappear with these changes.

Thank you for the troubleshooting, I am looking at it now. It appears that it is occurring with multiple browsers but not consistently.

I will continue to investigate. Thank you again,

Thank you Darin and Frederiek,

I have revamped the entire site from scratch. I noticed that I was receiving some errors from google on the mobile support so I redesigned the site around the bootstrap mobile framework.

It seems to be much more responsive now.
