hey friends,
I am new to html and nowdays trying to learn it on my own by surfing many tutorials on the net. Sometimes get confused and lost in technical terms like these. Can anyone help me to understand difference between Physical and logical tags in HTML language? If possible can you guys give me the list of tags which falls under these 2 categories. |

Never heard that use of words before. A more common way to express it is "structural" and "presentational". Must say that I find that both more fitting and self-explanatory.

I was thinking of elements with a "physical" function but no semantic meaning. But I'm not sure which ones that can be said to be strictly non-semantic. How about LINK, STYLE, SCRIPT, META, A, TITLE, hidden INPUT, etc...?

I think most of them are semantic and some can be made even more semantic. But I confess I find "semantic" to be a fuzzy label in this context. Sometimes it's even used as a synonym to structural.

If you limit yourself to semantics of the content, I think an element like STYLE should not be considered semantic, since its not part of the content, and is only meant to affect the presentation of the content.

You can't say that about the others except SCRIPT.
