How can i get these three columns to be the same height even if the middle column gets taller from adding more content.

You can't, not easily anyway. It isn't a table, there is no relationship between the column DIVs. Usually it's faked. See Faux Columns linked to from the following page, but there are also other solutions there.

You just need one of them. I suggest Faux Columns. But bookmark the page for later if you don't want to do it now. I'm all for one step at the time approach.
