HTML isn't programming. It's just markup. For that matter, CSS isn't programming either.
PHP is programming, but it isn't something you can just throw together from bits and pieces that you copy from somewhere else. I recommend that you take a programming class or three. It would be easier to use an existing blogging platform. |

You need to be well versed in the programming language you choose to do it in. That doesn't happen over night. It would be much quicker to use a finished blog software and a good learning experience too, if you want to learn how blogs work. Note that you don't need to use services like Blogger and WordPress.com. You can install the scripts on your own server and customize the the templates and style sheets so the layout would be your own. That's usually a hard enough task for someone who has never done something like that before and it's definitely where you should start.
Of classes I know nothing, but rumor has it most are rubbish. |

That first two are easy.
1. HTML 2. CSS The rest is more a matter of taste and depends on what you want to do, but those two you need and you need them in that order. BTW ASP is a typical language for Windows servers, so there's another choice, if you want to use Linux or Windows servers. Not much point in learning ASP if you plan to play on Linux. |
