Hi. I started up this business a month or so ago. I sell funny/custom t-shirts. Would you please review my site so I know what it is that I should change? I feel as though it seems a bit unprofessional and would appreciate any input. Thanks.

The website is great! The design is very well done, and the whole page is fun-filled. I suggest, however, that you convert your logo to a .GIF file. It takes quite a while to load on dial-ups, and will still take longer than usual on High speed.
If you want a more professional look you could make the text a bit smaller and use HR tags to add horizontal rules in between paragraphs. The empty white table on the right of the site also looks a bit odd. You could get rid of it and make your logo's width 700 pixels to match the other table.
Awesome site! Fun T-shirts!

Smaller? They're already specifying the font size as 9pt, which is inappropriate for general web pages (because of the pt unit; use percentages or em instead), and which hits the minimum font size my browser is configured to enforce.

Pass your html page through the validator (don't mix html with xhtml) and pass your CSS through the W3C CSS validator.

BTW, only styles.css gets loaded by the browser. The other two css files can't be found.

All that done might start arranging things in your page.

Page is a minor mess in Firefox 1.5.0.7. Fixing the CSS and HTML errors and being mindful of browser quirks will fix most of that. Your frame images don't align correctly and the header and the image are off-centered to the left a bit. See attachment.

Banner is a raw PNG with no compression applied. Possibly better off as a JPG due to the colours.

The javascript image pre-loader is arguably unnecessary.

The page looks strange in IE6 too. Fixing the validator errors may or may not help.

Also it appears the white background is an image: http://www.shoutingtees.com/images/back_2.gif Unless this image loads you'll get a brown background, which contrasts poorly with some of the text.

I think I'm gonna put the site through a major overhaul. Start from scratch... Any thoughts?

What are your goals for this "major overhaul"?

I'm going to totally redo the whole site... try to make it look more like a business' site rather than a little kid's "Hey everyone look at my dog" site.

to start with you might consider the KISS approach ohmy.gif till you get the hang of what works and doesn't. Keep the navigation and html design minimal.

In terms of professionalism i'd say easy navigation and the graphics is more important than fancy web design techniques.

Have a look at some of these and possibly adapt your site from one of the examples it throws up. For a random CSS generator, it comes up with the occasional clever and professional looking design.

He probably saw that in Safari on Mac, as I did, cause I saw the same thing.

You might want to take advantage of a quite good CSS tutorial at
http://www.westciv.com/style_master/house/index.html

And bookmark thiw page too:

. . . anything on a Mac, including FireFox and Explorer
I'd be surprised if it doesn't look like that on FF for Windows as well.

It looks almost exactly like that on FF 1.5.0.7 for Windows.

Ok, I fixed the layout problems and tested it in IE, Netscape, Firefox, and Opera and all seems to be working well.
