Hi, can anyone help, I am trying to read my emails in Windows Mail on Vista and I keep having to use the view drop down box and then highlight the "Message in HTML" to see them clearly. When this happens, if there is an attachment "little paperclip" it disappears and I cannot open it until I view it without it being in HTML.

How do I view it in HMTL all the time and still see the attachments if they are there?

Ceejay.

I've read that the IE9 update(?) removes the paper clip icon from the preview frame when HTML formatting of emails is enabled.

As a workaround you might open the email message in a new window, then there should be a list of attached files just above the message, where you can save them.

Like you mentioned you can also tick the "Read messages in plain text" checkbox in Tools > Options > Read. Doing so will restore the paperclip icon, but will also remove HTML formatting and embedded images in messages.
