HTMLHelp Forums _ Web Site Functionality _ Problem with HTML validator tool

Posted by: daa137 May 30 2019, 05:43 PM

I'm trying to use the HTML validator tool and getting the error "Error retrieving https://www.nesfa.org/: SSL negotiation failed:" with no further information.

This tool used to work on this site (www.nesfa.org, hosted at DreamHost.com), and I've successfully accessed the site from several different computers since I noticed this problem. I'm not sure when the problem first appeared since my use of this tool is sporadic; it's been failing for at least the past several weeks.

How can I get this problem diagnosed and fixed?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Did nesfa.org or DreamHost.com recently start enforcing https connections?

I forgot to mention that; sorry.

Yes, nesfa.org started enforcing https (using certificates from LetsEncrypt, IIRC) before the first time I noticed this problem.

The w3c validator doesn't have any problems. So why does our?

Are you thinking some kind of propagation issue, Darin?
