Hi,
Could anybody tell me how one could display an excel file in a browser. They must be able to work on it and then save the work done, so other people could browse to it and see the changes, they also need the option to be able to download it. Please help thanks, Peter |

Please help thanks, Peter See the top of this page: "... Making the Web accessible to all" But your application seems to be about sharing Excel files, which are proprietary to a rather unpleasant corporation, presumably within a working group. If you really want to let _anyone_ modify this file, you need to look up "Wiki"; but allowing _anyone_ to modify a spreadsheet (perhaps that's what you mean by "Excel" ?) is a *crazy* idea, because no-one can ever be sure of what calculations the spreadsheet is doing any more. I suggest you rethink, carefully, just what you need to do. It doesn't currently seem to have anything to do with creating web pages. |

A rule of the Internet: if you can see something in your browser, you've downloaded it.
To view an Excel file, use a viewer... http://www.microsoft.com/office/000/viewers.asp To edit it, they will need a spreadsheet program capable of reading/writing Excel files. This doesn't really sound like something suited to a browser. It's more of a workgroup/collaboration thing IMHO, and that may be the option you want to look at. |
