Hi,

I am new to web design. I want to create a site where clients can rate different organizations in a service industry.

For this website, I want users to be able to rate different organizations and then keep all the submitted ratings in a database and then other users to view the ratings (similar to amazon ratings or apartmentratings.com)

I started designing my site in Dreamweaver and thought I would then link my Dreamweaver pages to a MySQL database. I just came across a book that describes how to create a similar site using PHP Apache and My SQL. Is it better to use PHP or Dreamweaver to create my pages?

Thanks

PHP (or similar) is needed to contact the DB and send/receive data from it. AFAIK this is not something DW can do.

You might still use DW to create the HTML and CSS, even though it's better in the long run to learn to code yourself.
