I'm having a problem with my first website tongue.gif The problem is upon first entering the site and navigating to any other page the menu on the left side of the screen looks garbled. A solution that works every time is refreshing the page...I would love if someone who knows html fairly well to look over my code to see if there is a simple permanent fix for this but would be happy to just find some code that will refresh the page so the user doesn't have to hit refresh every time. I need it refresh only once as i have a video demonstration that needs to be able to be viewed etc. I know the refresh code is a bit like using duck tape to hold my bumper on. I would of course rather repair the code so i don't need the refresh code but I'm just not up to speed on html to be able to figure it out yet. I appreciate any ideas anyone has to solve this.

That redirects me to http://partnerpage.google.com/snapgameguides.com but I don't see any obvious problems there. Can you be more specific?

I don't get redirected. I also don't see the problem at the real site. What browser do you see the problem in?

What's with the redirection and why is Darin singled out?

I am using firefox when it displays the problem, IE was also doing it a day ago but has stopped. very weird deal if anyone has any suggestions im all ears...not to sound like ross perot lol

I forgot to mention i have never been redirected to any other page typing in www.snapgameguides.com could it be my cname ? or my name server i have
ns1.name.com
ns2.name.com
ns3.name.com
ns4.name.com
ns275.hostgator.com
ns276.hostgator.com

Under register a name server in my name.com control panel i entered two to google trying to get my gmail to let me log into it by using the address they gave me but it still doesn't work so i just deleted those references maybe thats why the redirect for some people. maybe it will stop now that ive taken them out. Should i post the code here, don't know if i am supposed to do that but i will if its ok to do so.

Anyone else getting redirected from my website My Webpage to a google page?

The garbled menu upon navigating from the splash page to any other page seems to happen mostly for me with firefox. Another thing i noticed is i had a floating logo that stayed with the page as it would be scrolled down that only shows up in ie not firefox. If anyone knows of some code that would refresh the page just once that would be a great temp help till i can get someone to look over the code and see what needs the change.

When I try to analyze what's happening, http://www.snapgameguides.com/ redirects Opera to http://start.snapgameguides.com/ which then gives me a blank page. Lynx gets a minimal page (with just an embed and a few navigation page) for the first URL, and a 503 Service Unavailable for the second URL.

Then I turn on automatic redirection in Opera, and http://www.snapgameguides.com/ redirects me to http://start.snapgameguides.com/parking.ph...pgameguides.com which is a domain parking page.

What are they up to? Could it be purely random? I tried with Safari (on Mac) yesterday and it didn't happen.

Is that other page yours at all, _Andy_?

Yes those pages are connected to me through buying my domain name through name.com they include a gmail with the @megapowerofidaho. and in my user control panel for name.com i have seen and removed the http://start.snapgameguides.com I think this problem is most likely a result from something in my dns management.
here is the info hopefully someone can see a problem there

Is there a way to modify this code so it executes once and stops?

<META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="10; URL=http://www.snapgameguides.com/about.html">

As it is now it will refresh every 10 seconds, has to be a way of stopping it I would think. If so I can simply put this code in each page and it should solve my garbled menu problem at least temporarily. Also I want to thank everyone for there responses biggrin.gif

Not quite sure what you mean pandy, I thought this was a site to post questions to get answers. I simply thought that someone could see this code and know how to modify it to give me the solution I started this thread for. If posting again some information that I thought could help get a solution is a problem perhaps I'm on the wrong site.

Sorry, I meant that you have bigger problems than a garbled menu. People don't even reach your site. No, Meta Refesh is not the solution. It can't do what you want.

That sounds very likely. I didn't notice that last part above yesterday.

Why do you have so many name servers? Is name.com your registrator and hostgator your host? In that case, what is name.com doing there? unsure.gif

Yes name.com is my registrator and hostgator is my host. I thought I needed the name.com name servers so my gmail through google apps works right that was included with my name registration...maybe not???

Can you try again and see if you get redirected I just removed all name.com name servers and also the 3 aliases.
