Hi everyone,
I created my own video using Windows Movie Maker for a school
project.
I uploaded it onto my blog: http://333004simsleah.blogspot.com
(professor made us name our blogs like that).
It worked great. No issues.

The other day, I changed my layout, and for some reason now the video
is there TWICE.
When I view my blog and right-click on the post > View Source, I can
see an extra code, beginning with "rtsp://". However, when I go to Posts > Edit > HTML to fix
it, the code is only there ONCE.

Any pointers on how to delete the extra video? It's really obnoxious.
Oh, and I've already tried deleting the video and re-uploading it
(which takes forever). That hasn't worked...

I am having the same problem with a joomla module. it displays twice in firefox but only once in IE.

Working on this page and I could use some advice.

http://www.mesapowergroup.com.php5-3.df ... tlink.com/

The newsflash module at the top right of the page displays twice in firefox and once in IE and I can't figure out why.

Here is my templates index.php. The featuredNews module is the one in question.

I changed my entire layout to a different theme. In Blogger, you can either use their cookie-cutter layouts, or download a code from another creator and copy/paste the HTML code into the "Template" box. The video was fine in the layout I had before, but after I changed the layout, it showed up twice. The only time I can see an extra code is when I right-click to see "View Source," and I see an "rtsp://" for a video.

However, this code neither shows up in the HTML for my actual post OR the HTML for my code, so I don't know how to alter it or delete it.

What browser are you using? In Google Chrome, IE and Firefox the video appears twice. It's under the post "'Twilight' movie should take it back to the drawing board.'

A couple paragraphs down you have the option to "See more." Click that, scroll down, and the video is there.

I use just about any browser on Windows except Chrome which I refuse to install again. ninja.gif

OK. I see it, but it isn't two videos. It's one video and under it this JPG.
http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?a...YAdkHZTFarcJZfc

I'm not familiar with embedding Google Video, but I'd guess the cause of this starts with the highlighted part of this rather absurd URL. How far it goes only God knows... Maybe not, nut it takes some tinkering.

<param name="movie" value="http://www.blogger.com/img/videoplayer.swf?videoUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fvp.video.google.com%2Fvideodownload%3Fversion%3D0%26secureurl%3DqAAAAKXn9zyzXTyW6NoE_4ojujp8KrStjgxF8PzEs1RaxUJhuGWyt1O- LI8HNfAIIiBTQ2mgMLOx0IU86vpee9hqo_ARlRCQTvnI9zS27brTOVZ1u3_H8xGBKlIvyzmAWAtddCE_

That thumbnailUrl mumbo jumbo appears several times. This's only the first instance. Did you check or choose some option that includes something like "show a thumbnail"?

Thanks for taking a look, Pandy. I appreciate it. smile.gif
The code you listed doesn't show up in the HTML for my blog post, or for my layout... only in "View Source." So I'm going to try one more time to delete and re-upload the video and see if that works.

It hasn't asked me if I want to include a thumbnail or anything, so I'm hoping this works. Aghhh...

Has anyone else ever experienced something similar? When a code only seems to show up in "View Source," but can't be found anywhere else?

Well, I just deleted and re-uploaded the video to no avail.
This is the code that I see when I try to edit the HTML for this blog post:

<object id="BLOG_video-c8a7e52b48d65d1b" class="BLOG_video_class" width="320" height="266" contentid="c8a7e52b48d65d1b"></object>

So annoying...

Well, how did you get the code in there to start with? How does the code you got from Google look? Can you paste it here? Maybe it contains JS that writes out the code we see in the page source..

Okay, I hope I'm answering your question right...

I got the code from the video from the "Upload a Video" feature in Blogger; so I didn't do it myself. I just selected the video file, hit "upload" and waited for like 10 minutes and there it was.

This is the code that was inserted into my blog post via Blogger's Upload a Video feature:
"<object id="BLOG_video-c8a7e52b48d65d1b" class="BLOG_video_class" width="320" height="266" contentid="c8a7e52b48d65d1b"></object>"

This is what I see when I click "View Source" (it's ridiculous):
<br /><object width="320" height="266" class="BLOG_video_class" id="BLOG_video-c8a7e52b48d65d1b" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="movie" value="http://www.blogger.com/img/videoplayer.swf?videoUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fvp.video.google.com%2Fvideodownload%3Fversion%3D0%26secureurl%3DqAAAAHZQAKfu6jF-JfdYz_38VlivatQ_72m7Aj8LY96AnqeZMg_fCKKQ4H9fVkd_O9Ms6AL9vQA7- bD7_cCkvs3hBe0xKsanlGQSGL8TmEwPSdL04Q2XtChpGR8Iu0IyVqvbSq9r8eiavzLOsH3MU_yrzW1yG

So... since I can ONLY see that code in "View Source," I don't know how to find it and delete it.

I hope I answered your question correctly.

It probably is something in my layout code, because my brother uploaded a video to his blog through Blogger, and it turned out fine. And MY video worked fine in my old layout.

Here is the code I downloaded from the layout creator for the layout I'm using now:

<html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <title>The Writing Portfolio of Leah Sims</title> <script type="text/Javascript">
function togglecomments (postid) {
var whichpost = document.getElementById(postid);
if (whichpost.className=="commentshown") { whichpost.className="commenthidden"; } else { whichpost.className="commentshown"; }
} </script>

<style type="text/css"> .commenthidden {display:none}
.commentshown {display:inline}

#b-navbar { height:0px; visibility:hidden; display:none } <!-- body { background-color: #76e4ff; background-image: url(http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d69/ivory6/blog%20stuff/malibudreams3.png); background-repeat: repeat-y; scrollbar-face-color: #FFFFFF; scrollbar-highlight-color: #FFFFFF; scrollbar-shadow-color: #FFFFFF; scrollbar-3dlight-color: #76E4FF; scrollbar-arrow-color: #FFFFFF; scrollbar-track-color: #76E4FF; scrollbar-darkshadow-color: #76E4FF; } .x { font-weight: normal; text-align: justify; padding-left: 10px; } .section { font-family: tahoma; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; text-transform: uppercase; color: #4CB500; font-weight: bold; border-bottom-style: solid; border-bottom-color: #C2EC31; border-bottom-width: thin; } .y { font-family: Verdana; font-size: 8pt; color: #68595B; text-align: justify; padding-top: 5px; } .title { font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 22pt; text-transform: none; color: #4CB500; border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-color: #C2EC31; border-bottom-width:thin; text-align: right; } .date { font-family: tahoma; font-size: 8pt; text-transform: uppercase; color: #4CB500; padding-left: 10px; padding-bottom: 10px; text-align: left; } a:link { font-family: Verdana; font-size: 8pt; color: #15ADFF; text-decoration: none; } a:visited { font-family: Verdana; font-size: 8pt; color: #15ADFF; text-decoration: none; } a:hover { font-family: verdana; font-size: 8pt; color: #4BC0FF; text-decoration: none; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-bottom-style: dotted; border-bottom-color: #4BC0FF; } a:active { font-family: verdana; font-size: 8pt; color: #15ADFF; } blockquote{ background-color: FFFFFF; font-family: verdana; color: #68595B; font-size: 8pt; text-align: justify; margin-left: 15px; margin-right: 15px; padding-top: 4px; padding-bottom: 4px; padding-left: 4px; padding-right: 4px; letter-spacing: 0px; border: 1px solid #B3E800; } --> </style> </head> <body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" topmargin="0" leftmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0"> <table width="940" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td><img src="http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d69/ivory6/blog%20stuff/malibudreams1.png" width="903" height="340" ></td> </tr> <tr> <td><img src="http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d69/ivory6/blog%20stuff/malibudreams2.png" width="903" height="340" ></td> </tr> </table> <div style="position:absolute; width:535px; left:326px; top:386px; padding: 0px;> <div class=; height: 362px;"x"> <blogger> <div class="title"><BlogItemTitle><$BlogItemTitle$></BlogItemTitle></div> <div class="date"><BlogDateHeader><$BlogDateHeaderDate$></BlogDateHeader></div> <br> <div class="y"><$BlogItemBody$></div> <br><br><br> </blogger> </div> <div style="position:absolute; width:188px; left:112px; top:386px; height: auto; padding-right:0px;"> <div class="x"> <div class="section">Writing Portfolio</div> <div class="y"> The writing portfolio showcases written works for various kinds of media, including television and radio. </div> </div> <br> <div class="x"> <div class="section">Leah Sims</div> <div class="y"> Leah Sims is a junior at Kennesaw State University, where she is majoring in Communications (Media Studies) and minoring in film. Nope. I don't see anything related to the video at all. I'm sorry, but I really don't know. Is there a way to delete the whole past and re-enter it?
